  1. I really enjoyed the Zayn/Cesaro match but to say it was as good as any G1 match is complete hipster bull.  Not even close.  It's not even close to a MOTYC.  It was really fun, don't get me wrong.  Great nearfalls, great execution, some cool subtle things, but not near on the level of an actual MOTYC, not this year for sure.

  2. Holy fuck, are we still calling him Bryan Danielson, The American Dragon?  Really? OMG  DANIEL BRYAN BEAT THE PROTOTYPE TONIGHT!! Enough with the "he was an indy darling" schtick.  How long ago was that?

Still, great show.  Ending was flat as all hell.  The Orton/HHH turn... blah.  It's been done so many times.  The first question was everyone asking how long it'll be before HHH or Orton turn on each other.  Lesnar/Punk was all that and a bag of chips!  Nothing pretty, just ass kicking.   There's something weird to me about Big E.  He moves so strangely in there.   ADR/Christian was shockingly great.  Really loved it, Christian sold like a king.

  3. I was sort of thinking the same thing throughout the tourney, though more in different ways.  Tombstones to set up clotheslines?   Spider Germans to set up a flying knee drop?   Maybe it's me getting old but the FIGHTING SPIRIT~! no sells and weird set ups get a bit tiring.  Plus limb work MOSTLY seems useless come the ending stretch (not always, but mostly)

One thing I DID notice is that the charisma in NJPW is off the charts.  They connect with the audience on a wider basis, more guys know how, then in the past.  More true heels these days, more rock and roll/body language/fire babyfaces.

  4. The Road Warriors were awesome. Who cares how great many great matches they had. They hit the ring and hurt motherfuckers. THAT is pro wrestling.

And made a TON of money and filled a TON of seats.  I can't believe anyone who thinks they know twat about wrestling is comparing them to someone like Nailz or saying Mark Henry performs better in his role then they did in theirs.

  5. Now that I've seen it, I might rank Nak/Ibushi as my favorite so far too.  Lots of heat, lots of great stuff going on, lots of call backs, plus they had great chemistry, great charisma.  Of course I skipped a bunch to see it, but still.  Fantastic stuff.

  6. Man, I need to re-watch Ishii/Shibata or something.   I am not close to the love everyone else seems to have for it.   It was a faux 90's AJPW big 4 match to me.  1 Count kick outs, no selling, then weird selling...

  7. After watching last night's show (and holy shit DAT MATCH), I just think there is NO outcome but Cena beats Bryan in a grueling affair.  Puts over Cena more.  They've very obviously been building the Super Cena train even bigger in 2013.  Everyone's been built to be fed to him.

That being said, the dream is Corporate Cena.  I am telling you, the money is in him going corporate, bragging about how much merch he sells, about arena he sells out, push IF he gets rating spikes on TV (does he?  not sure),a ll the money he's made, the movies, etc, etc.  THAT is how you do heel Cena.  Get him right away from the merch, the kids, the goofy mannerisms and gear.   Feed him some lifers who can talk about their lifetime spent in the WWE, how they busted their balls.  Keep the You can't see me shuffle as a heel/mock spot.  Them whoever it is that finally gets over on him is the one to counter that damned move.   Daniel Bryan is obviously that guy right now, but who knows who might appear.  Pure wrestler, built his business on hard work, determination and skill, fans shower him in praise because of that.

SUPER CORPORATE SELL OUT HEEL vs HARD WORKING MAN is the world we live in.  Who doesn't want to see the good guy come out on top there?

  8. I am SHOCKED that people are actually deriding WWE's method of pushing guys, like it's a big surprise or something.  The boss wants you to work out more and you want to be on TV and make more money... work out more.   You are practically on commission sales.  You make more money, you get paid more money.  WWE's thinking, right or wrong, is looking good goes a long way towards making money.

Hero isn't a big fat bastard, don't get me wrong, but he is obviously not what the WWE wants on their TV's at this time.  He can change that, he has in the past.  Lots of guys have.

  9. Tajiri and Tracy Smothers are probably my favorite two guys to watch from 90's.

Speaking of Smothers, the FBI were the best true heel act in ECW, the greatest troll gimmick ever, and experts at making others look good.

Candido's best ECW match was a fancam against Mikey which is outstanding.

Tajiri v. Crazy Mexican Death Match from the Arena was awesome, but I"m not at all sure it's better than the other one they had on a FanCam I"ve seen or some of the better Tajiri v. Guido matches.  There is also a Tajiri v. El Lobo match from Puerto Rico in 2001 that is fucking awesome.  And Tajiri v. Finlay from last year.  Hell his carry job of that one scrub this year is a top five (if not top three) Japanese match of 2013.  I've said this many times but in 99/00 Tajiri was probably the best wrestler on Earth, though I guess Ishikawa or someone like that may have been better.  IN any event I have seen every available match he wrestled during those years and never saw a performance that was less than good, with the outright majority being great.  I would kill to see a 20-30 disc Tajiri comp one day

Which scrub?  He was wrestling all sorts of strange fellows in SMASH.
