BadAssDigest article with info on Superman in BvS.

I've told you a bunch about Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice*, but not much about Superman. I don't want to give you the impression that this is Batman's movie - it's very much a sequel to Man of Steel, and it very much follows up on stuff from that movie in big ways. In fact Chris Terrio's script - at least a draft from just before production began - deals explicitly with some fan complaints about the last Superman film.

Batman v Superman opens with Batman's origin and fast forwards to Bruce Wayne coming to Metropolis during the Superman/Zod fight, but that's just setting the stage for that character. From there the script turns its attention to Superman heavily, and it examines the implications of Superman in the real world. The main action takes place a couple of years after the end of Man of Steel, and Superman has been busy in the meantime, becoming the hero we know and love. Clark Kent and Lois Lane have moved their relationship forward to the point where they live together. Clark is still working at the Daily Planet, although it's unclear if he's loving his assignments - he's tasked with covering a Metropolis/Gotham football game when he would rather be writing about Batman.

Very early in the film Lois is in the Middle East following a story when Superman shows up to help her out. This becomes something of an international incident as other nations view Superman as a tool of the United States. China, for instance, doesn't want him in their air space. It's an interesting look at how a being like Superman would be viewed on a global scale.

What are the lessons that Superman learned from Man of Steel? Some slight spoilers follow.

When Superman confronts a big bad guy and unravels his plot, he tells the villain, "I won't snap your neck, I'm going to take you to prison," an on-the-nose response to criticisms of the first movie. Of course Superman later loses his cool and threatens to break the bad guy's back, so he hasn't quite internalized everything yet.

As for being a protector of the people - when the Doomsday fight starts General Swanwick tells the military that Superman will move the battle away from populated areas because he's a hero, and that's what heroes do. Again, this is a direct response to complaints about the first film. It's also interesting to see that Swanwick, who was tracking Superman with drones at the end of Man of Steel, is such a supporter in this film. It seems that most people - except Lex Luthor and a cautious Batman, who is prepping anti-Superman weapons - believe Superman is a hero.

A caveat on this, and my previous Batman reporting - this information comes from a script that was handed in a month before principal photography began. While the broad strokes surely will make it into the film, small details like dialogue and character moments could be cut from the script or in the editing room before the movie reaches theaters.

THANK JEEBUS that Devin Faraci is full of shit 99% of the time.....that sounds absolutely awful!

So uhhhh...Superman....the fans on a message board were bitching about you fighting in the city....can you keep outside the city limits from now on?

  2. In NXT they are fine. Not overly good but they serve a purpose and can be carried to fun matches.

This will completely fuck them over.

I don't really care about them as much but it's a sign to me that Vince thinks the NXT guys need a main roster tweak. Terrified to hear news that anyone I actually like gets a call up.

I get the whole NXT has to job to the main roster argument, but not when the entire fucking point was "look at this incredible performer who you can see defend her title on Thursday's NXT special and oops she's pinned in 2 minutes oh well".

Yeah the time limit thing and the fact it was Natty bugged me.

More that it was Natty because you have this great wrestling family feud to play off of.

When Charlotte comes up you can have her build momentum by moving through the roster from the bottom up until she runs into Natty and use the family history to build a generational feud.

I would have used a lesser performer (not Natty, Bellas, Paige, AJ), given them 5 minutes, and have Charlotte lose so that you establish that while she is the NXT champ she is at the bottom of the Divas roster.  While Charlotte got her offense into the match, the short time made it feel like a squash.

Paige was a top tier diva from the start and Charlotte is more physically imposing and more athletic than Paige. This is the same as having Neville job to Fandango to build up his match with Zayn. Nobody is going to order the Network to see a scrub who lost on Raw in two minutes.

Why not have Sasha come out and distract Charlotte causing her to lose, and have a brawl after the match with Charlotte standing tall? Because WWE sucks at booking that's why.

    SO MUCH THIS!

I mean obviously this isn't going to make or break the company but holy shit is it an obvious example of poor booking.

    What a promotion tactic!

"Come see this babyface loser defend her title on the network....I mean if you want.....cause she just lost to the girl she beat for the belt in the first place in under 3 minutes.....oh and that girl isn't even wrestling on the NXT show so I guess what we are saying is....we don't really care if you watch this show or not in fact we aren't even sure why we booked this match".

  4. The reversal timing is tricky. There are some I still haven't mastered like the ring apron attack. I usually play the game on factory settings and for me at least I end up with some kind of muscle memory for the reversals.

There is almost always a specific moment during strikes or before the AI goes for signatures and finishers that never ever change so it is possible to learn them. I've gotten really good at reverses especially for signatures and strikes but I've reversed a bunch of finishers as well.

  5. "It has been brought to my attention that our SOA Collector's Edition Book has been sent out a week early by some distributors and book outlets. This book contains details about the final episode of the series. This, my friends is a storyteller's worst nightmare. I wanted this book to be a compliment to the show. It contains personal messages and photos from the cast, in-depth behind the scenes information and detailed breakdown of episodes. It's a smart, well-conceived book that I was very excited for the fans to have."

"...AFTER the motherfucking finale. There are a thousand fucking people I can blame. And I assure you, by the time I am done, my fucking basket will be filled with heads of incompetent cunts. But as far as the fans go, the burden is on me. I fucked up. It was my idea for the book, so ultimately, I am to blame. So if you received a book, I apologize. I ask that you not share your wrath or pain or opinion in social media so as to not spoil the experience of others. There is no excuse for utter ineptitude. It pains me that this will be the parting memory of some fans. I hope you all tune in for the finale. It plays much better than it reads. "

  6. I sold my copy to the local second hand store today.  Most I could fetch was $30.  They base their price on what Ebay and Gamestop are paying.  Probably not a good sign.

To my knowledge that is all anyone will give you no matter what game it is. My Brother turned in GTA V a couple days after its release because his Xbox died a sad death and he only got 30 for it. So the title doesn't matter.

  7. I guess I'm an idiot, I can't figure out how to be a heel in My Career. I'm taunting like crazy and getting DQ'd with chairshots, but Vickie keeps telling me the match was awful and my meter is in the middle.

My thinking is that this can only happen in the cutscenes when you are given a choice to do something (shake Bryan's hands/kick him in the balls).

I think the mode has a lot of potential but they have to keep polishing it.

  8. RE: Hair

It is always going to look like shit in games that have as much free range of motion and as many animations to cycle through. I remember in the trailers for MLB 14 The Show they were showing off hair that swayed when guys moved....game came out.....and nope.

This is about as good as hair is going to look for a while.

  9. Well they are still partnering with Yukes...... So you get what you pay for in that regard. They sold me on this game when I found out that El Generico and PAC would actually be in a WWE game. Insta-sold a copy for me alone.

  10. 25 slots is totally understandable. They said the CAWS in the game are going to blow the older gen versions out of the water in terms of fidelity (which is a given considering the new hardware). It doesn't surprise me that the number is so low.

What surprised me is that they delayed the game only to reveal that none of the SHIELD guys are actually updated. And going by the PS3/360 versions they don't have updated trons or music in the game either. That is a total bummer.

  11. No story mode in the last gen games. Unsure about next gen.

Its possible that they removed it though. I always found that feature kind of lacking anyway. It always felt kind of buggy and incomplete to me. If it results in an improved Universe Mode then I don't mind.

  12. So PSN put up the video for November on YouTube.... It got a massive amount of dislikes and the video is now private. Looks like everything this month is an "indie" release.

For WWE 2K15 fans. No, all six things are NOT included in the season pass. Just the Accelerator and three story lines.

The other items (NXT, WCW, move pack) will be available at a discount, a la carte for season pass holders.

    That's shitty
