Was that the match at the Rex Plex where (IIRC) Izzy messed up something and Ki lost his mind and just beat the fuck out of him? It was wild but just completely unprofessional, that guy could be a real dickhead.

Low Ki is the definition of someone who has the Napoleon complex. I walked past him once at the Rex Plex and I swear I thought he was a 12 year old boy that had walked right past me ( I'm 6'5", 280lbs). He would NEVER try something like that to another professional who was bigger then him or had just as much experience as he did.

My problem with HBO Max is that NJPW already has its own subscription streaming service. And it's one they aren't taking full advantage of. What they should be doing is overhauling NJPW World and making it a better international streaming destination.

Unfortunately, I want to watch NJPW on my TV and not the computer.

  3. Per Herb:

New Japan Pro Wrestling may be returning to English-language television.

Dave Meltzer has confirmed that NJPW is very close to an English-language television deal. The deal is close enough that an announcement could come at any time.

NJPW previously had a television deal with AXS TV, which aired NJPW content from 2014 to 2019. The relationship ended after AXS TV was purchased by Anthem Sports and Entertainment, which owns Impact Wrestling. The promotion later confirmed at the end of 2019 that no more shows were scheduled to broadcast on US television in 2020. Women of Wrestling, another promotion that aired on AXS prior to Anthem’s purchase, was cancelled back in June.

Shortly before NJPW’s association with AXS ended, the promotion launched a new subsidiary called NJPW of America. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, NJPW has continued to run shows in the US with a weekly program called Strong that airs on New Japan World.

@Niners Fan in CT  I'm no doctor, but I'd guess it's one of two things:  An embolism (which as a professional athlete/performer, he'd probably have known about and probably been treating) or, and here's where I'd put my money, a very aggressive cancer.   Frankly the timeline fits.

I feel awful for his family.  Dude is several years younger than me and gone.  ?   What terrible news.

I haven't read the entire thread, but it could have been from a Bacteria Infection. Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis

Really surprised to see Kobayashi in there as Sekimoto's partner instead of Okabayashi.

Yuji has wrestled only 1 match for All Japan this year when they had the Atsushi Aoki Memorial show. In 2019, he only worked 13 matches for them. I'm guessing that he like BJW better.
