Moving up the ranks in My Career is ridiculous for the big titles. I've beaten literally everyone in the top 10 for the Heavyweight Championship and I'm stuck at #4 and it took me FOREVER just to get there. The guy at #3 is Daniel Bryan, who I beat about 5 times, including at a ppv, following all Authority orders. I pinned the champ, Brock Lesnar, in a 6-man HIAC at the ppv and didn't move.
It's wack because if you beat the guy ranked directly ahead of you, instead of moving in his spot, the next guy below you leapfrogs you and takes that spot while you stay put. It makes no sense.
And don't say "do run ins" because I've done a thousand of those. The guy just drops after you beat him (sometimes not even) but you don't move up. It seems like I gain rank completely at random.

I think one of the biggest mistakes 2K made this year was not making it clear to NOT rotate the right stick during submissions.

Try challenging the champ of any belt when you're not the #1 contender. Fuuuuuuuuck. Ryback reversed SIX finishers.

Is there an advantage to siding with the Authority in My Career? I thought you would get title shots or rankings boosts, but it seems like nothing major happens.

The tournament is off to an ok start. I really don't want them turning Dean or Reigns. I'm kind of hoping this thing ends with Cesaro or Owens as the new golden boy for the Authority.
I was fine with the ending. I'm just hoping the SS match ends in a victory for the Wyatts.
Anything to get Cesaro in the main event is okay with me.

Digging in to My Career mode. Won the NXT belt with Jervis Cottonbelly.

That was sweet. This game, for all its flaws, does have moments like that.
I usually do major reversals by accident, honestly. No idea about damage amount.
Getting better at submissions, got a Scorpion Deathlock on Orton today, but I still don't like the system. I think with some tweaks it might work next year. I'd still like the option to go back to the old system.

PS4 has been rather kind to me since getting it mid last year. I'd say all in all I have no complaints aside from this. That said, not sure what's up with it as I'd figure if it happened in the game 2K might have a hand in this as well. But hey, if it ends up working then whatever.
Moving on, holy crap there's some quality CAS's on caws.ws. Found a spot-on Sasha and Nakamura that I can't wait to try out. The arenas are on point as well. Time to get these and try it out.
The CAW makers never cease to amaze me. There's a Del Rio on there that I guarantee is as good as 2K would make.

This Bret vs. Austin submission match can fuck right off. Restholds aren't working at all - instead of the resthold, Bret keeps putting on a legscissors. Thus, no way to get Austin's stamina down, thus, no way to get the tapout. !@&^!&^@
Just beat the fuck out of him with a chair, everything is legal in that match. Be careful and take pauses in between shots or your stamina will drain and then you're really screwed. Keep building up and spamming sharpshooters until one clicks. That's how I did it...on like my ninth try.
Rest hold system only works when stamina is drained, which actually makes sense. They got that part right. I even like the new pin system. You get three solid chances to kick out and I've pretty much got the cadence down.
The sub system had to go and fuck up a good game. It's not great, still too many flaws (and bugs). But if they were to patch it correctly, fix the bugs, and give us an option to change the sub system, I'd be satisfied with the product. That's probably not gonna happen, though.

Finally got him today in the third sharpshooter after just beating him with a chair for half an hour. Might have lucked into it, I can't completely control the meter the way you would think you're supposed to.
I may never attempt another submission again in this game.

The real fun one is having to submit Austin with Bret, it's wayyyyy worse than trying to avoid one
I absolutely cannot do it. Like, literally impossible.
Fuck this submission system with a wooden spoon. It completely takes the fun out of the game. The fucking thing won't react the way I want it to. I've even watched tutorials on it and I just HATE IT.
EDIT: Oh, and last time I tried to get the hang of it, Zach Ryder got out of FOUR sharpshooters before I rage quit.

I've given up on the submission system for the time being. Even just moving it side to side instead of rotating doesn't work like it's supposed to. I've used Bret Hart a hundred times already...I just try and win with the piledriver now. Maybe I'll get back to it.

Finished the showcase. Meh...it was alright. I think I'm just tired of reliving WWF in the 90's. I really enjoyed the WCW and ECW stuff, that's where they should go next year IMO.
Don't know how they botched Rock's attire at WM X-7, but I'm picky. Little inaccuracies take me outta the match.
The server suck ass, but when you can connect, there's already some decent alt. attires and CAWs on there. It never takes makers long. Got me a couple Rick Rude alts that are spot on.

Anyone know how to initiate the resthold system? I must have skipped it in the tutorial or something. Or just stupid...distinct possibility.

Glad to see Taker and Lesnar get color. We can make an exception for one match a year, the kids will be fine.
Are they gonna keep the belt on Seth just long enough to break Punk's record?

Are we ever going to get a proper MSG? Watched a match between Batista and Orton in the Summerslam '98 (MSG) arena, and they still come from the side with no entrance ramp on hard camera.
Is there something I'm missing? Apparently it's impossible to make.
All the entrances work on the walk way being the exact same length so if its a RAW, MSG, or Wrestlemania the walk to the ring is the exact same. Otherwise they'd have to have new animations for every arena.
They couldn't have them come from the side on entrances, but during gameplay put a ramp facing the cam? Two ramps is too difficult?
I'm not sure how to embed videos on here because I'm an idiot, but there's one showing the full NOD (D'Lo, Farooq, Rocky) entrance and it's pretty sweet.

I wonder if they'll use "The Stripper" or if they actually spent the money to license "Simply Ravishing" from the WCW Slam Jam album.
I'd say virtually a direct copy from 2K15. At least that's the way it is for Bam Bam and DDP. Legends potentially involved in showcase (HTM '98 Rumble) might have different attires/music.

As for themes, I've never understood why they don't put in real themes of wrestlers who aren't in the game. You got Scott Hall signed, why wouldn't you make the Razor Ramon theme an option in CAS?

I thought that was the Season Pass, the preorder bonus was The Terminator.
However it's referred to, the bells and whistles that you can purchase along with the game aren't great this year IMO.
I do like a lot of the DLC content, though. I'll just buy those individually when they're released in the coming months.

So I've probably watched the least amount of South Park than anybody on this board, but they seem pretty politically conservative now. Am I just not getting the show anymore? It's a distinct possibility, as I remember the "Scott Tenorman Must Die" days more.
