  1. Okay, I'll play:

    AL East: Boston Red Sox

    AL Central: Detroit Tigers

    AL West: Los Angeles Angels

Wild Cards: Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox

    NL East: Washington Nationals

    NL Central: Pittsburgh Pirates

    NL West: Los Angeles Dodgers

Wild Cards: San Diego Padres, St. Louis Cardinals

I know, I know...Bold choices, but there we are.

  2. Yeah, I'm bowing out this year. To be honest, the most fun part of these things to me is the draft itself. After that, it is kind of a slog for me. Thanks to everybody who joined in my leagues over the past several years. Despite what I just said, I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll be back doing this again next year after I've had a year off.

  3. If you have a shite laptop like me, you can see it frame by frame as it loads. It looks like she comes down with the bottom of her shin, still pretty ruthless.

Kana's actually using her butt here, or what's more commonly known as a "hip attack", and it's one of the odder holdovers from her moveset when she first started out. Megumi Kudo used it all the time, too.

  4. Sometimes when I come to the main page it automatically redirects me to some Dr. Oz ad page or how to lose 21 lbs of stomach fat or you won't believe what Ellen did.  DVDVR is the only page this happens on.

Glad it wasn't just me this was happening to. I was like "Oh, god! What got into my laptop NOW?!"

Glad it wasn't something on my end, and I'm glad the board is back up and running again.

  5. So, Kana's been working for Reina since September, at first as a "consultant" or something like that. As one of her main talents, character-wise is being a shit-stirrer, one of the first things she did was strip Makoto and Ariya of the tag titles, simply because she could. Then she, along with Arisa Nakajima, gets to the finals of the tournament to crown new champions, facing off against Syuri and Lin Bairon. Kana and Nakajima win after it's revealed that Kana paid Lin off to turn on Syuri. Then, she beat Syuri a week or so ago to win Reina's world championship. Been a busy couple months for Kana.

Quick sidenote: Is the Kana/Arisa tag team still a kind of awkward teamup? Because I remember when they teamed together for WAVE's tag league thing, Arisa kind of looked like she'd rather be anywhere else most of the time.

  6. Welp, I lost the semis because Jay Cutler remembered he's Jay Cutler :/

So now, I'm playing for 3rd place, and I have a bit of a dilemma. I've got DeMarco Murray, and it's looking like he might actually start this week. But if he doesn't, I'm in some serious trouble. The rest of my RB corps is Latavius Murray, Andre Williams, and the corpse of Rashad Jennings. I do have some options on the waiver wire, though:

Toby Gerhart (vs. TEN): Yeah, it's hard to have confidence in any Jacksonville player, but he is their main back now, and Tennessee has been pretty bad against the run.

Carlos Hyde (vs. SD): Gore's might be back this week, which would make this a moot point. If he's not, though, Hyde would probably be the man, right?

Matt Asiata (vs. MIA): Miami's defense is tough for sure, but Asiata's their guy in the absence of AP, and he's been getting it done, for the most part.

Jonathan Stewart (vs. CLE): Cleveland is also a tougher matchup, plus if DeAngelo is back this week. But if not, Stewart might be worth a pickup.

So of these 4, who should I pick up as my insurance RB? Or maybe I overlooked somebody? Thanks!

  7. I was really into sports cards for a long time, then pokemon cards came out when I was 10 or so and, then I transferred over to a different Wizards of the Coast game called MLB showdown which was kinda a baseball version of a Wizards of the Coast game. Best card my Cubs fan self ever got was a Kerry Wood card that if you got advantage (which is usually the case) you'd get a strikeout if you rolled a 1-9 on a 20 sided dice. I posted a 18 strikeout game with that card.

    ....I miss that game.

Yeah, I had bought a box of booster packs for that game when it first came out. Managed to pull an Ichiro, which might actually be worth something as it could technically be considered a rookie card. Fun game, too...

  8. I have a Donruss Greg Maddux rookie card. I just looked up the eBay value and it's basically good enough to buy a large fry from McDonalds.

    That bums me out.

I think that has something to do with how massively overproduced cards were in the mid-late 80's. The sheer numbers means that even a coveted rookie card from that time period isn't worth all that much on its own. The only real exception I can think of is the '89 Upper Deck Griffey, and even that's dropped in value a lot in the last 10 years or so.

  9. So, here's the guys I have to choose from:

    Andre Ellington (vs. DET)

    Rashad Jennings (vs. SF)

    Ryan Matthews (vs. OAK)

    Antonio Gates (vs. OAK)

Cordarrelle Patterson (vs. CHI) (NOTE: Return points count in this league)

I need to pick 2 RBs and a flex spot. I'm leaning toward Ellington and Matthews for RB, and Gates for the flex spot, but I dunno. What do you think I should do?

  10. I've been watching a handful of Kairi Hojo matches lately, and I have to say that I've been pretty impressed with what I've seen. She has good charisma and ring presence, and she has a pretty fun moveset as well. Her top rope elbow is a joy to watch. It's been mostly tag matches, though. The only singles matches I've seen thus far are her vs. Act Yasukawa and her vs. Yuzuki Aikawa (I don't remember the dates off the top of my head). Any recommendations on what else to watch of her solo stuff?
