Okay, so they announced the Gold Glove winners, and there were a lot of first-timers:
AL NL
C: Salvador Perez C: Yadier Molina
1B: Eric Hosmer 1B: Paul Goldschmidt
2B: Dustin Pedroia 2B: Brandon Phillips
SS: J.J. Hardy SS: Andrelton Simmons
3B: Manny Machado 3B: Nolan Arenado
OF: Alex Gordon OF: Carlos Gonzalez
OF: Adam Jones OF: Carlos Gomez
OF: Shane Victorino OF: Gerardo Parra
P: R.A. Dickey P: Adam Wainwright
Looks legit to me, for once. Anybody see any glaring omissions?

Geez, I gotta be honest; Marvin Jones is probably your best bet, as none of those QBs look like a good bet this week.
As for me, I have to decide who to start at QB this week. Do I play to the matchup and start Terrelle Pryor, who is up against the awful Eagles defense, or do I play the hot hand and start Andy Dalton, who has a slightly tougher matchup against Miami?
-
Well, I'll be damned...

After what went down with Vick yesterday, I'm thinking it might be time to cut him loose. It sounds like he's going to be out for at least 2 weeks, and I'm thinking they may hold him out on week 11 as well, since week 12 is the Eagles' bye week. So, best case scenario, Vick comes back week 13, which is the week before our playoffs start. I have Andy Dalton and Terrelle Pryor, both of whom seem to be catching fire now, so I'm thinking I should be okay. What do y'all think?
-
So, I believed Vick when he said he was good to go and I started him this week...Yeah, that didn't go so well...Meanwhile, Andy Dalton and Terrelle Pryor sat on my bench >_<
Funnily enough, I still have a shot, albeit a long one. I'm down 48.50 to 72.84. I have Marshawn Lynch and Steven Hauschka, while my opponent has Sidney Rice. If Hauschka does what he's been doing over the last few weeks, and Lynch goes into Beast Mode I could still win this.

Kinda surprised I wasn't the high vote on Quiz Show. I'm pleased that it's this high. 45 movies off my ballot, only 2 from my top 10. With 45 movies to go, if I get 70 from my ballot, I'll be happy with that.

Yay! I missed being able to live vicariously through Gordi's stories of how awesome life in Japan is.
Great story, too! Do you know if Yuji ever gave wrestling a shot himself, considering who his father was and all?

This is Bella, hiding in the banquette. She likes hiding in and under things. Unlike most cats, Bella actually likes being picked up and held (by me anyway). Bella is a weird kitty.
This is Jenny. She is definitely the alpha of the two. She also likes harassing me about an hour or so before feeding time.
And here's the two of them looking out the window at...something...I don't think I ever figured out what it was that got their attention...

2. KANA. Damn she is cute. But I won't marginalize her ability. She looks like she can go. Thanks for the links earlier on. Watching her vs. Policewoman now LOL Policewoman is a funny gimmick
Yeah, Policewoman is fun as hell. Didn't it start out being Sakura Hirota, but then somebody else took up the gimmick (I want to say Yuki Miyazaki?)? Kana has a reputation for working stiff. She seems to have backed off it somewhat, except when she's working heel, like she is in JWP.
On that note, Kana made her second JWP title defense last week, beating Hanako Nakamori. Post-match, though, things got a bit...interesting...
Now, this is from Kana's Wikipedia page, so take it with however many grains of salt you need. Assuming that's what really happened though, well that just came out of left field. Totally did not see the storyline advancing in that way. I hope it actually leads to something and it isn't just Kana playing mind games with Nakajima and JWP in general. Oh, and Kana apparently brought the JWP belt with her to the US for the SHIMMER tapings this past weekend.

I have Randall Cobb (who is projected to be out til week 15 - well into playoffs in my league), I am toying with the idea of dropping him outright. What do the fantasy football afficianados think about that?
Well, that's what I did. I was lucky enough to get Keenan Allen, too. There's got to be somebody you can pick up off waivers; it beats having Cobb just take up a spot on the bench.
-
Guys? Little help?
-
And the first of my Top 10 drops...I'm pleasantly surprised The Crow is as high on the list as it is.
-
Okay, now that Gronk's been cleared, here's the decision I have to make. I currently have Vernon Davis (vs. TEN) in my TE spot, and Joseph Randle (vs. PHI) in my flex spot. Who do I bench for Gronk?
-
I was going to ask about picking up Percy Harvin off of waivers. But it seems someone in my league already has. So take it for what it is worth, you might want to stow Harvin away if you haven't already.
Tried, got beat to it by someone with higher priority >_<

Man, I have a conundrum with my RB corps. I have 2 RB spots to fill and currently have Alfred Morris, DeAngelo Williams, and Ryan Matthews. Morris is a no brainer, but I'm having a hard time choosing between Williams and Matthews. The Rams are 30th in stopping the run, while Williams is a 10th ranked RB who could lose goal line opportunities to Mike freaking Tolbert. On the other hand, Matthews is a 17th ranked RB playing against a Jaguars D ranked dead last for stopping the run.
I'd take Matthews, man. Like you said, Tolbert could end up vulturing a goal line TD from Williams, plus the Chargers are up against the Jaguars. Playing to the matchup pays off most of the time, in my experience.
-
All right, I just picked up Joseph Randle off the waiver wire. Assuming Gronk doesn't play (and I'm assuming he's not), do I plug him into my flex spot or should I trust that this will be the week that Trent Richardson comes around?
-
Well, with Farewell My Concubine, just over a quarter of my ballot has now dropped, and only 2 of those from my top 20. Really enjoying the countdown.

I keep forgetting to make this post, but I tried those McDonald's Mighty Wings a week or two ago, so I'd figure I'd give a little review of it.
First off, the wings themselves are huge compared to, say, Buffalo Wild Wings and some other sports bar chains that feature wings prominently. Where I was, it was a 3-piece for $2.99, so about $1 per wing, which also matches up favorably with other wings. No sauce, so it was kind of like the KFC wings in that regard, but they came with a sauce for dipping. As for taste, it was surprisingly good. A decent amount of heat that didn't overpower the flavor of the wings, and it was nice and crunchy, which is how I like my wings.
Overall, I'd say this was about as good as you could expect them to be, coming from McDonald's and all. I wouldn't go out of my way for them, but if you're going to McDonald's anyway, you could definitely do worse.
Solid B+

Needless to say, pants were nowhere to be found in our house after Ortiz hit that grand slam.

EDIT: Oops, wrong thread. I fail at reading >_<
To keep my post on topic: After the postseason he's having, I should think it's more likely that the Red Sox will do everything they can to re-sign Ellsbury.
Also, an interesting little screed:

So, uh, yeah. Starting Dalton was the right move this week. Between Dalton, Lynch, DeSean Jackson, Vernon Davis, and Giovani Bernard, I am up 150-103. And I still have Trent Richardson tonight.
Good times.
-
Okay, neither of my QB options is great, but I have to pick one. Should I go with Andy Dalton (vs. BUF) and hope that he and A.J. Green can finally get things rolling, or do I roll the dice on Terrelle Pryor (vs. KC) maybe getting a rushing TD?
