  1. Last time I checked, doing a parody/mockery of someone, was still a joke. Jokes can be clean, dirty, racist, whatever. If this gets you upset...you wouldn't last an hour in my world. I also don't recommend you watch comedies from the 80's and 90's. Why are we treating it as if his comments are actually what he thinks and not a portrayal of a character that might be out of the times in 2016? It feels like he's doing his routine shtick - does shooty name dropping, sets a windup for delivery, throws a pitch, and WHIFF... strike out with a line that's too tasteless in today's world. It's almost like he was following a formula for a joke because that's probably what he was going for. Good comedy is all about timing, and clearly, this was the wrong time. I don't think the actual person playing the character, who has a wife, would say that in his personal life or actually feels that way, do you? I'm pretty sure he's talked about his character doing things he wouldn't personally do or agrees with it times, but his job was his job and he did it I think was his response. I know that's not completely what happened here, but it feels to me that he was just doing his job as the character has always done, only it's not "in" anymore. Times have changed, and we just heard it pass Joey's character right on by with a joke that would have popped an ECW crowd big time in 1999. He was in front of a crowd, isn't that when guys are supposed to be in character, performing, and turning things up to 11? This is wrestling where crazy always happens. She didn't have to sit there and take it. It's not like an audible hasn't been called before. Would the crowd have popped if she hit him over the comment or would that have died too?
  2. I'm not trying to change my argument, just pointing out that in the big picture, I've experienced worse things at a wrestling show. Truly scary and offensive things. Jack was trying to incite violence in the crowd between people of different races - joey told a sexist joke. Jack didn't get fired for what he did. That seems a little off when I compare them. Joey has been involved in multiple aspects of the business from on screen to behind the curtain. I'd like to think that experience is still worth something in this time of moral decay where people say dirty jokes at wrestling shows. Maybe the times have just passed me by.
  3. That was less offensive than when I heard New Jack try to incite a race riot over Trayvon Martin. Welcome to 2016 I guess.
  4. Hey that's the story he gave. Do you have the clip?
  5. Seemed perfectly in line with the character I saw on tv numerous times mocking the times and saying something outrageous and crazy to get the crowd hot. Oh I agree he had every right to fire him, but it seems a little lame given he's talented, it's not out of range for his character, his presence adds a value you that's exceedingly hard to find now a days, and he's not a known trouble maker that I'm aware of - is this a pattern for him bucking rules from management? Fine the guy or some other amends making deal and move on. This isn't a guy zonked out on pills putting people's lives at risk, it's a bad attempt at humor. People make mistakes. Also, why did he get fired from the other two gigs? Are they all connected companies?
  6. Did any of you read his response? He blanked and fucked up live- this was an off incident. Zero tolerance tends to do more harm than good and why he lost other jobs over this is weird. This isn't a guy known for problems. I get he screwed up, but a fine maybe, have him donate his check, but firing him over it was a tad extreme for one lousy joke he dropped on the fly because he was caught off guard.
  7. Am I alone in thinking Joey Styles getting dropped from three announcing gigs while Josh Matthews continues to be employed as an announcer is just...i don't know, horrible.
  8. Still don't understand why Athem just needed Dixie around. What does she bringing to the table besides the stench of failure?
  9. So I've now had the displeasure of having to get two tire alignments in two months and there went about $1000. Is that normal? Google seems to suggest not. Real world experiences though? This is from Goodyear...maybe that's mistake one?
  10. From Scott Keith's observer review Also at the tapings, Steve Williams got into a weird altercation with the referee, as he was throwing jobbers around after a squash and hit the ref, who completely no-sold it. So Doc kicked him and hit him with a chair to no effect, and the ref actually took him down in a shoot until Doc kicked him in the face to make him sell. And then they fought AGAIN in the dressing room, with the ref screaming at him to fight and they brawled until other guys broke it up. Given this was pre Brawl for All...who was crazy enough to try Doc Death?
  11. Since Roman worked almost nowhere else, won't that give him a huge leg up in 20 years?
  12. Would Meltzer be the most qualified outsider to write Vince's biography? Will he after he dies?
  13. I'll take it that's a shot at the LAW people who are hip to all this drama because it's part of their job, right?
  14. Isn't this illegal? Thought you can't take photos in the booth.
  15. In regards to Sin/Jericho....so WWE still charters a bus for Euro tours? I thought they stopped that for liability reasons. IE accident to bus shuts down a show completely.
  16. I'm sorry if this is a no no to talk about it here, but is what's happening with TNA right now the strangest thing ever in wrestling, maybe in business ever? I mean the amount of crazy going on is just some other level stuff. Rockstars, millionaires, wrestlers, tv shows, tv networks, failed ratings, the Hardy's career revival, it's some straight Day's of our Lives/Passions type stuff....that could only happen in wrestling.
  17. Probably way more than what he paid to get him to go away. I could totally see Fight handing Corgan 4 million to just STFU. They've already proven to not be the smartest knife in the drawer.
  18. I assume Bruce Lee and some dragon movie he was in.
  19. Except for that part where only an idiot would think the toll of doing that wouldn't be tremendous. Dynamite is 100% self inflicted in every aspect of his life. Being alive to think about all of it is probably the worst part.
  20. Why does the board and twitter hate mobile so bad....my page just keeps extending as I'm trying to type this.
  21. How amazing is it that everyone involved with this comes off looking like a bigger idiot?
