  1. I really love Nattie's character on this show. She's like the mutual acquaintance in a large group of friends that no one really likes but inexplicably turns up at every gathering and reminds people why they don't like her. And she has the most hilarious lack of self-awareness. "I don't have any drama..." Yeah sure Nat, we all saw Season 1.

Eva's dad is also the best. He reminds me of Jim Mora. "Wedding? Don't talk to me about a wedding! Are you kidding me? Wedding?"

Given her lineage as a Hart, it only makes sense that she takes the industry and herself way too seriously. Bret was the same way -- just read his excellent but revealing book -- and I'll bet it made him annoying to the people around him frequently, too.

It does make her entertaining, for sure.

  2. I think Eva is going to be a star. People REALLY dislike her. She's generating strong reactions from the live audiences and she's probably in the top 5 prettiest divas they've had. Just keep her heel and it's gold.

I just did a google image search for her, and I can't disagree with her amazing face and body.

Her character made me nuts watching last night. But I can't deny that there's a "what-will-she-do-to-piss-me-off-next?" thing going on that will bring me back next week.

  3. Jumped on the Total Diva train. Holy cow. I've been missing out.

Same here. Yesterday was my first time watching it.

Trash TV. But before yesterday, I didn't care one bit about the Bellas beyond enjoying their hotness. Now I find myself interested in them.

  4.

Why didn't all the people who have the network not have WWE 24/7? You could actually watch that on TV and easily record it on a DVD recorder while watching it.

Classics on demand was only available via certain cable companies

Yeah it was never available in my area.

Also, the cheapest cable tv in my area was still around $30, and then another 8 or 10 for WWE 24/7. But you can't get that basic cable when for only a few dollars more you can get channels I will actually watch. And a few dollars more because the favorites are in the top tier. So every time I got cable, I would get 24/7 -- but the whole concept seemed to cost me $100 or more. So I would usually cancel the whole package after a few months. Wasn't worth it.

  5. Okay, so I thought I would give Lockdown a try, since I haven't seen any TNA in almost two years.

I made it 90 seconds into the first match: a 6-man tag inside a steel cage. Once Sabin and the blonde Japanese guy started going all Dragon Gate dancing choreography, I turned it off.

I think I will go on YT and watch 1984 WWF instead. . .

  6. If they ever run another Bella vs Bella thing, i would all be for the reason that Brie is shoving her happiness in Nikki's face while Nikki played the "everything is wonderful!" trophy wife.. Minus the ring. Poor Nikki. :(

Also, too much Eva. Can't believe she even has to get carried at being emotional.

I would buy that conflict between the Bellas, and I think it would be logical and awesome.

"Can't believe she even has to get carried at being emotional." -- so, so true.

    More Summer next week, please.

  7. Oh God, it got even better when Bryan mocked Nikki over the phone. "Stop being such a girl, Nicole!"

And Eva Marie's Dad with an Affliction hoodie was pretty awesome.

For me, E's family should have had my sympathy because she's such a lying-liar who treated them and her douche-guy so badly.

But by the end of the episode, I decided I hated her and her family, and I cheered douche-guy for standing up and telling them all to go to hell. That was his Crowning Moment of Awesome and his total face turn for me. I am now Team Douche-Guy. (honestly, I don't even know his name)

The stream I was watching had a chat, and we all lost our shit over Nikki's inability to pronounce "mercury". We kept saying things like, "Is Cena going to invite her to meer creek?"

Also, how awesome was Jimmy Uso in his 30 seconds of screen time? Amongst all the stupid, he came across as super-cool.

  8. Who would be the top female wrestlers in the world right now. To be honest the WWE product still does next to nothing (although there are a few exceptions now and then) for me as far as women's wrestling goes, but I'm wondering who are the best female workers in the world at this stage in time?

These days I am totally out of touch with joshi and with the US indie scene (SHIMMER, SHINE, etc). There's probably very good work being done in those places, as a lot of the usual faces from 5 or 8 years ago are still active.

But the CMLL luchadoras tend to put on entertaining matches week in and week out, if lucha is your thing. If it's not, it should be. ;)  They have some good chick rasslers.

  9.

There's a Renee Young podcast with Dustin and Cody? why does no one tell me these things?

Yup!  It's awesome, especially when they call Dusty. I was walking to the corner store last night around midnight, and I was laughing like crazy walking home. Also, it's pretty informative. The Rhodes family are cool.

  10. That reminds me of the Rene Young podcast with Dustin and Cody. Dustin is talking about he and Terri going to Fredericks on Sunset, and he said, "Do you think Vince would let me wear lingerie at Mania?" So he "went to the fat girl section", tried some on, and bought it.

Rene says something like, "I'm trying to picture how that went down. Did you and Terri just decide you'd spend the afternoon lingerie shopping?"

    That podcast ep is great.

  11.

The legend of HHH is such that people who hate him will fear he will find a way to go over even if him losing is the only outcome that makes any sense. He's done it often enough to make people think he might, but doesn't do it all the time so, unlike TNA, people don't approach a promising angle with the dreadful certainty that he will ruin it.

TNA would give him the belt because they want to swerve all the people who expect them not to give it to him. But then they would decide not to because we figured they might decide to give him the belt to foil our expectations of them not giving them the belt.

Then at the last minute, they would run a staph infection angle and keep him off the PPV completely.

TNA-style booking would swerve things by having HHH beat Daniel Bryan clean, giving us six more months of Randy Orton as champion, and trying to turn Daniel Bryan before Orton loses the belt, and sidelining him in an extended feud with Kane .

I hate TNA so much. I really do. The last thing from them I enjoyed was The Beautiful People (with Cute Kip, pre-Madison) and Beer Money. And that's what, 5 years ago?

  12. That is a miserable man. It makes me sad.

He doesn't look very happy there, does he?

It's gotta be hard to leave the rasslin world where every week 20,000 people hang on your every word and gesture -- and go into the real world, where no one knows who you are and no one cares.  It's no wonder Flair and Foley keep coming back. And Jericho, for that matter.
