Lawler's heel persona is a bit odd but JBL also flip flops back and forth all night during Raw. Speaking of Raw they updated the last Smackdown twice during Raw that's 2 more times than they usually do, At least they're making an effort to push smackdown.
Despite the audience support I feel they will not push Styles past the mid-card level

Meltzer says in the newsletter that the Friday CMLL show will start being carried by the Televisa Deportes Network in Feb.so the stream sill likely end at that point. I wonder if it will also be carried by the Univision Deportes Network since the two share programming.

That video is awesome, seeing the heels like Owens, Del Rio out of character cheering and clapping with the rest is just strange.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns opens SmackDown talking about how good it felt to win the title on Monday and how it was it so great to win on his daughter's birthday. Reigns says he doesn't think he has many days left in WWE. Sheamus interrupts and says he's happy for Roman, pointing out how it's been longer than 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Sheamus says it won't be much longer until he wins the title back. "You look stupid" chants break out. Sheamus tells them to respect the hawk. Sheamus says there is an investigation going on in regards to Reigns and he can't fight or make any appearances, or be in this building tonight. Roman says to come and make him leave. Security guards come out and Reigns destroys them.
* Ryback vs. WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio is next in a good back and forth non-title match. Ryback hits the Meathook and goes for Shellshocked but Rusev, Sheamus and King Barrett interfere. Del Rio takes advantage and hits the cross armbreaker on Ryback for the win. After the match, the League of Nations beats Ryback down. Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick and Rusev puts him in The Accolade.
* The Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day is advertised for later. There's a backstage segment with Tyler Breeze and Summer Rae talking about his match with Titus O'Neil. Goldust creeps around from behind and Summer sprays hairspray in his mouth.
* Titus O'Neil defeated Tyler Breeze with Clash of the Titus. Goldust came down during the match and sat with Summer in her VIP section. Goldust was taking selfies with Breeze's selfie stick and distracted him with it, leading to Titus getting the win.
* Backstage segment with Dean Ambrose talking about the beatdown he got from Kevin Owens on RAW.
* They show highlights from TLC with the ECW Originals and The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt cuts a promo.
* The Lucha Dragons defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) in a non-title match. Sin Cara and Kalisto controlled early. Big E tried to play the trombone but it wouldn't work. Woods distracted the referee and Big pulled Cara off the apron at one point. Cara came back in and dived onto Woods and Big E. Kalisto grabbed Kofi from the corner and rolled him up for the win.
* Backstage segment with Dolph Ziggler talking about Kevin Owens.
* Becky Lynch defeated Brie Bella by submission. Team BAD came out during the match with "unity" signs. They took seats behind the announcers and the "we want Sasha" chants started up. WWE Divas Champion Charlotte comes out and trips Brie while Becky has the referee distracted. Becky then gets the win.
* Backstage segment with Charlotte and Becky. Becky doesn't think Charlotte thinks she can win on her own.
* Dolph Ziggler defeated Kevin Owens by DQ in the main event when Owens threw him over the announce table. Owens dominated most of the match and went for a pop-up powerbomb at one point but Ziggler countered with Sweet Chin Music. Owens kicked out and then they went to the floor and the DQ happened. Ziggler came back but Owens threw him into the steel steps. Owens went to powerbomb Ziggler into the steps but Dean Ambrose came out and they brawled. Owens escaped and walked away. Ziggler was being helped to the back by referees when Owens superkicked him. Ambrose chased Owens to the stage and they had a staredown. Ambrose checked on Ziggler but Ziggler superkicked Ambrose. Owens laughed at them both as SmackDown goes off the air with both Ambrose and Ziggler down. -

We got reports from the Smackdown tapings in Jacksonville, Florida of an incident involving two young boys allegedly yelling out the “N” word to Roman Reigns. Fans yelled at their mother to discipline her kids, but she didn’t respond.
The mother then reportedly got into an argument with fans in her section. Security saw what was going on and it was decided that the mother and her kids would be escorted out of the arena. One correspondent noted to us that the mother seemed more concerned with people taking photos of her and her kids.
I think Security made the right call, it's one thing to boo Reigns but this went too far.

* Tyler Breeze defeated Neville with the Unprettier. Dolph Ziggler was on commentary and the crowd was dead for this match
* Brie Bella defeated Becky Lynch by DQ when WWE Divas Champion Charlotte ran in and attacked Brie after Brie earlier knocked Charlotte down outside of the ring. Alicia Fox was also at ringside
* WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day defeated The Usos and Dean Ambrose when Xavier Woods pinned Jimmy Uso. Reigns will now be alone in the main event
* Bray Wyatt squashed Devon Dudley and pinned him after Sister Abigail. After the match, The Wyatt Family also beat down Tommy Dreamer and Bubba Ray Dudley, who were at ringside. They beat the ECW Originals up with kendo sticks and put Dreamer through a table
* Roman Reigns vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, United States Champion Alberto Del Rio, Rusev and King Barrett in a Handicap match is next. Barrett got eliminated half-way into the match. Rusev works over Reigns pretty good now. Reigns ends up winning by count out. After the match, Sheamus hits Reins with a Brogue Kick and out come The Usos with Ambrose. The babyfaces help Reigns fight off The League of Nations and stand tall to end SmackDown

Miz TV kicks off tonight's SmackDown. Kevin Owens interrupts and declares it The Kevin Owens Show. Alberto Del Rio and Zeb Colter interrupt. Owens and Del Rio have words and face off. Dean Ambrose comes out to a big reaction. Roman Reigns is out next to a standing ovation, according to our correspondent. R-Truth is out next. He says he will cut through everyone else like a hot knife through butter. Miz reminds Truth he's not in the tournament. Truth apologizes and wishes Reigns and Ambrose good luck. He refused to wish good luck to Owens and Del Rio, then leaves. The Miz throws a fit and Reigns distracts him, allowing Ambrose to knock Miz out with a punch. The others clear the ring and the segment ends with Reigns and Ambrose standing tall.
* We come back to Miz complaining about being disrespected. He demands his match for tonight be canceled. Cesaro is out next. Cesaro defeats The Miz in about 90 seconds with a float-over into a Crossface. Stardust and The Ascension come out to block Cesaro but walk past him to the entrance without anything happening.
* Neville and The Dudley Boyz defeated Stardust and The Ascension.
* Tyler Breeze comes out with Summer Rae for a promo. He rips on Dolph Ziggler, who comes down to ringside to watch the next match.
* Tyler Breeze defeated Zack Ryder with an excellent Unprettier. Ziggler attacks Breeze after the match and nails a superkick to end the segment.
* The Undertaker's druids come out with sheep masks on as The Wyatt Family comes to the ring. Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman both cut promos until the bells toll. Everyone stands as The Undertaker cuts a promo on the big screen. Kane appears with a burning sheep mask and finishes the promo. The Undertaker does a "rest in peace" as the turnbuckles explode.
* WWE Divas Champion Charlotte defeated Brie Bella in a non-title match with the Figure Eight.
* Renee Young interviews Paige backstage. Tonight's main event will be Reigns and Ambrose vs. Owens and Del Rio.
* Big E defeated Kalisto with two running splashes and a distraction from The New Day. They attack Kalisto and Sin Cara after the match until Ryback makes the save.
* They show Maria Menounos interviewing Paige and The Miz on E! News about WWE Studios movie Santa's Little Helper.
* Backstage segment with Reigns and Ambrose talking about being in the Survivor Series main event together.

Del Rio apparently had several botches in the match. A brawl breaks out before Reigns and Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds and a spear. They stand tall as SmackDown ends.
I wonder what's wrong with Del Rio he seems to be off his game lately.

I think the Kalisto win happened because they realized they were telegraphing the result too clearly.
Sandow competed on Main Event doing his old Intellectual character, so I guess he's back to square one.

I fear they're telegraphing where they're going a little too clearly, Once the fans realize that, they're gonna crap all over Reign's match like they did before.

All I'm interested in is the beginning and the end, in between I think I'll watch Football.

- The WWE world heavyweight championship was set up in the ring as the main showcase. This was so The Authority could come out and formally announce that a tournament would begin tonight to crown a new champ after Seth Rollins was forced to vacate the title due to injury. Fans were chanting "thank you Rollins", Roman Reigns was out next and Triple H asked him if he wanted to become the new Rollins, placing the title on his shoulder. He declined. His first tournament match will be against Big Show.
- Roman Reigns def. Big Show but the bigger story is word that the crowd went into business for itself with various chants at Show like "you fat bastard" and were doing the wave and what not.
- The tournament bracket was revealed:
- Kevin Owens def. Titus O'Neil to advance in the tournament. Owens got heat going after the Queen of England.
- Paige did a backstage promo to set up a match with Becky Lynch, who won via roll up in usual Divas match finish fashion. After, Paige did a PTO on the announce table after and Charlotte ran in.
- Dolph Ziggler def. The Miz to advance in the tournament.
- Alberto Del Rio and Zeb Colter were out for a promo and if there was ever doubt, they were heeling it up quite a bit here, saying even Scotland doesn't want the English.
- Natalya def. Naomi in a match they were setting up on Twitter with Nattie questioning who the leader of the team is. Sasha responded by saying three heads are better than one and Team B.A.D. beat the Queen of Harts down after the match.
- King Barrett called out Wayne Rooney ringside when he accompanied Sheamus out for his match with Cesaro. Not surprisingly, Cesaro defeated the Money in the Bank briefcase holder -- they chanted "briefcase wanker" at him during the match -- to set up a tough second round match-up with Roman Reigns. They did an angle where Rooney slapped Barrett to a big pop.
- Dean Ambrose def. Tyler Breeze to advance in the tournament. He won with a schoolboy.
- Ric Flair showed up for a promo to put over Undertaker appearing on SmackDown. This could be a dark segment.
- The New Day def. Neville & The Usos with some typical cheating heel tactics after their usual pre-match promo work.
- Bray Wyatt was out for a promo. He was interrupted by Undertaker and Kane. Braun Strowman, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan all showed up after the Brothers of Destruction got into the ring to confront Bray. 'Taker and Kane beat down the heels before walking out and doing the one arm up gimmick at the stage.
That's your show.
The chants were one of the best parts of the show I heard, The way the brackets are set up I see no way Reigns can lose. No suprises in the brackets.

The match was stopped and awarded to Neville, after Rusev apparently injured his shoulder. The was confusing to the live crowd and abrupt.
Smackdown Spoilers:
* SmackDown opens with a vignette of Bray Wyatt talking about The Undertaker and Kane. Their spirits are his fuel. Bray challenges any 3 Superstars to face his 3 monsters later tonight.
* Roman Reigns comes out to a huge pop. He talks about obstacles and getting another shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Title. Kevin Owens interrupts and says Reigns stole the Fatal 4 Way win on RAW.
* Roman Reigns defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens by count out in a non-title match. This was said to be a pretty solid match with lots of “let’s go Roman” chants. Reigns knocked Owens out of the ring with a Superman punch and Owens ran off through the crowd.
* The Lucha Dragons defeated The Ascension, The Dudley Boyz and Sheamus & King Barrett in a multi-team match. The Dudleyz fought Barrett and Sheamus to the back while The Lucha Dragons got the pin on The Ascension. WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day were on commentary.
* Dolph Ziggler defeated The Miz in a Trick or Treat Street Fight. There were pumpkins and skeletons around the ring. They also had orange kendo sticks. Ziggler won a good match with a roll-up. After the match, Tyler Breeze came out and attacked Ziggler until the referees pulled them apart. Summer Rae was with him.
* Paige defeated Natalya. Paige got a huge pop and they had another good match. Team BAD came out and distracted Natalya, leading to Paige winning with the RamPaige. After the match, Team BAD attacks Natalya until referees break it up.
* WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio is out next with Zeb Colter, talking about their MexAmerica group. They say the title now represents both countries.
* Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth in a non-title match. The crowd was in favor of Del Rio, probably 3-1. Del Rio won a squash with the top rope stomp.
* Cesaro, Dean Ambrose and Ryback accept Bray Wyatt’s challenge from earlier.
* Braun Strowman, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan defeated Cesaro, Ryback and Dean Ambrose. Cesaro got a hot tag and the crowd went nuts. He hit uppercuts on all three opponents for a big pop. Harper ended up getting the pin for his team. Apparently The Wyatt Family carried Ryback away like they did with Kane and The Undertaker but he came back, or they tried to carry him away. Bray Wyatt was at ringside for the whole match and the end was very chaotic.Looks like we'll find out who Taker's partners will be by who gets carried out.

* Nikki Bella defeated Paige with a big forearm to the face and the Rack Attack.
* The Miz brought out Summer Rae and Dolph Ziggler for MizTV. Ziggler says he's done with Summer and no longer interested. She's fine with that because she's moved on and has a new man. Out comes NXT Superstar Tyler Breeze. Breeze cuts a promo and attacks Ziggler.
* Sheamus and King Barrett with Rusev defeated The Lucha Dragons. The win came after Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick on Kalisto when Barrett had him distracted.
* Bo Dallas comes out for a promo but he's interrupted by Ryback's music. Ryback wins a quick match.
* Renee Young interviews WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens backstage about Hell In a Cell and the match against Ryback.
* Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose vs. WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Big E in a non-title match is next. New Day goes to leave but The Dudley Boyz come out on the stage to block them. Reigns and Ambrose bring The New Day back to the ring and The Dudleyz leave. Reigns hits Kofi with a spear for the win. After the match, Reigns and Ambrose celebrate but are interrupted by a Bray Wyatt promo on the big screen. SmackDown ends.

* Roman Reigns defeated Bo Dallas in a quick match with a spear. Reigns cuts another promo after the match about Hell In a Cell but Bray Wyatt interrupts on the big screen and warns him.
* Cesaro and Neville vs. Sheamus and King Barrett is next. Big pop for Cesaro and lots of heat on Sheamus. Stardust and The Ascension appeared at ringside in the crowd. Stardust had a "Stardust Section" sign mocking Cesaro. Sheamus gets the pin on Cesaro
* Summer Rae cuts a promo on Rusev and Dolph Ziggler. She announces she will be special referee for their match tonight.
* Dean Ambrose was interviewed by Byron Saxton and got a big hometown pop.
* WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens defeated Zack Ryder in a quick non-title match. Ryback watched from ringside and stopped Owens from destroying Ryder after the match.
* Backstage segment with Paige and Natalya arguing.
* Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev with Summer Rae as special referee is next. Ziggler got a huge pop. Summer did a fast count to give Ziggler the win. She got excited and went to celebrate with him after the match but he turned her down.
* Backstage promo with Dean Ambrose and The Dudley Boyz.
* Luke Harper and Braun Strowman defeated The Prime Time Players. Harper took out Titus O'Neil wile Braun choked out Darren Young for the win.
* WWE Divas Champion Charlotte with Becky Lynch defeated Alicia Fox with The Bella Twins in a non-title match. Charlotte won with a Figure Eight. Team Bella beat Becky and Charlotte down after the match but Paige made the save.
* We see Natalya laid out backstage.
* The Dudley Boyz and Dean Ambrose defeated The New Day by DQ when Xavier Woods hit Bubba Ray Dudley with the trombone. Ambrose got a massive hometown pop for his entrance. The New Day takes shots after the match and stand tall to mostly boos. SmackDown ends.
Doesn't sound like a bad show.
