It's been confirmed that Broncos CB Chris Harris has a torn ACL.
Go Pats!

Yesterday, the 2014 potential HOF class was narrowed down to 15:
Michael Strahan, DE -- 1993-2007 New York Giants
Derrick Brooks, LB -- 1995-2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tim Brown, WR/KR -- 1988-2003 Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders, 2004 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Walter Jones, T -- 1997-2008 Seattle Seahawks
Jerome Bettis, RB -- 1993-95 Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams, 1996-2005 Pittsburgh Steelers
Morten Andersen, K -- 1982-1994 New Orleans Saints, 1995-2000, 2006-07 Atlanta Falcons, 2001 New York Giants, 2002-03 Kansas City Chiefs, 2004 Minnesota Vikings
Kevin Greene, LB/DE -- 1985-1992 Los Angeles Rams, 1993-95 Pittsburgh Steelers, 1996, 1998-99 Carolina Panthers, 1997 San Francisco 49ers
Charles Haley, DE/LB -- 1986-1991, 1999 San Francisco 49ers, 1992-96 Dallas Cowboys
Marvin Harrison, WR -- 1996-2008 Indianapolis Colts
Aeneas Williams, CB/S -- 1991-2000 Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals, 2001-04 St. Louis Rams
John Lynch, FS -- 1993-2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2004-07 Denver Broncos
Andre Reed, WR -- 1985-1999 Buffalo Bills, 2000 Washington Redskins
Will Shields, G -- 1993-2006 Kansas City Chiefs
Tony Dungy, Coach -- 1996-2001 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2002-08 Indianapolis Colts
Edward DeBartolo, Jr., Owner -- 1977-2000 San Francisco 49ers
Ray Guy and Claude Humphrey are both senior nominees up for election.
So, who do you have entering this year?
-
Yeah, I'm benching Vereen in my 3rd place matchup this week as well. Baltimore will likely find a way to contain him.
Gio against a weak Vikings D is the smarter play IMO.
Terry
-
I think it's only a controversy is Cutler craps the bed against the Browns.
-
So Cutler and Rodgers were both back at practice today in limited roles. McCown and Flynn took first team snaps.
-
You may even want to think about starting Bernard in your flex spot.
The only issue I have with this is that Gio has a time share with Green-Ellis. He could score a couple TDs, or he could only pick up 60 net yds, which makes it a risky call IMO.
-
So, in the 2 leagues I'm in, I made the playoffs in both as the 4th seed. I think I have my rosters optimized (and slated to lose based on estimated points), but would like your thoughts:
Yahoo! Team (standard)
QB: Dalton
RBs: Le'Veon Bell and Reggie Bush
WRs: VJax, Demaryius Thomas
TE: Heath Miller
W/T: Josh Gordon
W/R: Vereen
K: Gould
DST: Chiefs
Bench - Luck, FJax, Ridley, Gio, Keenan Allen, Hilton
ESPN League (PPR):
QB: Brees
RBs: Charles, Lacy
WRs: A.J. Green, Michael Floyd
TE: Jared Cook
FLEX: Le'Veon Bell
K: Gould
DST: Patriots
Bench - Russell Wilson, Bobby Rainey, Streater, Gio, Jordy, Jordan Reed, Panthers DST

I know Vernon Davis is on fire right now, but he has NOT fared well against Seattle in his last 5 games. Only 13 catches against 'em and zero TDs. Maybe he's due, or they have his number?
Atlanta isn't a good team, but Harry Douglas has put up some decent stats as of late and the Packers D is no great shakes.
-
I wouldn't start Fitzpatrick in a playoff situation, even with Luck having been pretty bad as of late. Palmer should be able to put up serviceable numbers for you. He went 26/40 for 327 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT and a lost fumble in Week 1 in St. Louis.
-
Caleb Hanie has signed with the Browns, leaving him and Alex "Trick Shot" Tanney are the only healthy QBs on their roster at the moment. Of course, that could change if Weeden and/or Campbell pass their concussion tests.
-
Jon Heyman reported on Twitter that the Red Sox signed A.J. Pierzynski to a contract.
Looks like Saltalamacchia may have a 3 year contract in hand from Miami as well.
-
The list gets pared down from the 25 modern candidates to 15, but the 2 senior guys move into the final discussion, so 17 in total.
There's a lot of great players/coaches on that list. Be interesting to see how the committee sorts it all out.
-
Since the baseball HOF got some nice discussion, I figure why not discuss this year's potential Hall of Fame class?
Your 25 semifinalists...

Okay - everyone excuse my moment of insanity but the Aaron Rodgers injury caused this
Giants have won two straight - sit at 2-6
vs. Oakland
vs. Rodgers less GB
vs. Dallas
at Washington
at San Diego
I am suddenly seeing them at 7-6
AND then Seattle flies TO NY
Katie Bar the Fucking Door
You posted this in the Week 10 thread, RIPPA. 2 W's down, 3 to go. Very much attainable.
So yeah, Broncos/Patriots this week...
-
Well, we have that barn burner MNF football matchup of Dolphins/Bucs to look forward to...
Patriots are on a bye, which couldn't come at a better time.
-
Very happy to see Gronk back, even if it is just limited snaps. Another target in the red zone is a good thing.
-
For Team 3, with who you gave as current options, I'd choose Pettis. He's been the preferred choice of Bradford as of late. But Brian's suggestion of Keenan Allen is a good one. If Vincent Brown is available, he might be worth a look as well.

Patriots have signed Austin Collie to a contract.
I wish the kid would retire.

Patriots/Falcons should be a good one, this week. I'm interested to see what the Pats D does against Matt Ryan and company.
Also read on PFT this morning that Anthony Spencer needs micro-fracture surgery that would end his season.
-
Brian Hoyer has been named the starting QB for the Browns this week against Minnesota, leapfrogging Jason Campbell on the depth chart.
-
Let Welker go why?
That was an ugly game. However, Brady Eyes > Manning Face.
Bowling shoe ugly at that. Gronk can't come back soon enough at this rate.
I do believe the rookie WRs will get it sooner rather than later.
-
Rex has been able to confuse Brady in the past, and with less weapons at his disposal, this may be closer than we think.
I could see a 20-10 or 21-13 Pats grind-it-out victory.
-
BTW - Chad Henne is officially starting this week for the Jags
If you have to adjust your fantasy lineup accordingly based on this news - I feel bad for your fantasy team
Henne is no great shakes, but he has the capability to at least move that offense towards the end zone. The Jags are still a bad team, but they are slightly less bad with Henne at the helm.
I still think the Pats can beat the J-E-T-S, injuries and depth concerns be damned. No better time than the present for Ridley to bounce back from his fumble issues.

I'm 32. I don't post very often, but have been reading the board for a number of years.

Since it was under 2 minutes, it would have been a booth review, regardless of Harbaugh losing his shit.
The 15 yd helmet-to-helmet on Newton's sack was so egregiously bad as well.
