I didn't see a thread for this and knew we had one on the old board so I figured I'd make one. I just watched last Wednesday's premiere and it was fantastic. The Alec Baldwin stuff was random and great, the NSA dude was so blandly tremendous, Butters at the DMV and the Jehovah Witness people were just ace. Legit lol'd several times throughout the episode. I forgot the show was starting again until I saw it on my DVR, but I'm glad it's back.

I still need to watch this, probably going to get to it tonight or tomorrow. What's the general verdict: nice start, or starting down the road to garbage?
The first season is riveting stuff. Nearly every episode is fairly mindblowing, especially the last two episodes of the season. I wasn't nearly as hard on season 2 as some people were. Yeah, it veered a bit too far into 24 territory, but it's still better than every season of 24, except for seasons 2 and maybe 3. Even despite some of the more unbelievable moments from last season, I felt like the drama was still really solid. Plus, they introduce this character named Quinn who is fucking awesome. The season 3 premiere did feel like a return to form and it set up some very interesting plotlines for this season to unravel. It's a must watch and is nowhere close to going down the same road Dexter went down.
First half of season one of 24 is probably better than any stretch in Homeland. And season four of 24 is also tremendous. Season five was silly but a ton of fun in a Russo- at his best sorta way.

That annoying little shit from the last season of Dexter is going to be an annoying little shit in this season of Homeland.
Other than that, I thought the premiere was more than solid and not really silly, which makes me happy.

Really liking this season. The fascinating background characters are getting pushed and it's making for an overall more well-rounded show. And still no Margaret Schroeder! Bang biscuit.

I'm not sure Skyler will realize that the Grey Matter money is actually Walt's since Walt made it a point to tell Skyler he was out of money. Maybe she puts two and two together and figures out that he's out of money because he gave it to Grey Matter... but I don't know. Also, did she know that he was only left with $11 million because the Aryans took the rest?

dem goosebumps.

Sid would get a huge push.

Well I did say in the years to come. I understand an immediate house cleaning would likely lead to an even shittier game the next year.
I might compare it to Madden. For years, Madden was the football game to buy. Then, slowly but surely, 2K started to develop a solid product, eventually overtaking Madden in quality in the view of many fans. Even EA knew it, which is why they snatched those NFL rights up as quick as possible.
I'm just tired of the yearly fuckups of the people creating the WWE games. Head scratching type shit.
I'm pretty sure 2K overtook Madden in quality with NFL 2K.

They should just merge ROH and TNA be done with it. At least the (mainstream) interwebs would be excited.
-
Yeah but the main events would have guys who could throw great punches and all would be ok

I actually wasn't there for it, but I've had several people tell me that the midnight showing of Snakes on a Plane was something they've never experienced before or since at a movie theater. Just people going crazy all movie like they were watching a sports game or wrestling match.

Hey, this past week's Sons was only 70 minutes!

yay homeland

There is something bizarrely cool about seeing Vladmir the superfan get his moment in the sun on the 86 MSG show only to discover on the 91 MSG show that he's still there sitting in what might be the exact same seat.
BTW, you can see why Monsoon's "Will you stop?!?!" became such an iconic trait, since during one Heenan tirade on PTW, Monsoon quickly mutters "shut up," and all I could think was "wow, Monsoon is a dick."
He's at pretty much every MSG house show and almost always in the same seat/area. If you look hard enough, I think he's at virtually every major northeast show in the 80's and 90's.
A lot of the ECW regulars can be spotted at those mid-late 80's house shows.

I can't be the only one who'd mark if Kennedy showed up on Raw, even though I found him unwatchable for the majority of his TNA run.

The worst part was Dexter rolling Deb out of the hospital and onto his boat with no one noticing. I know it was chaotic because of the hurricane but that's just absurd.
Horrible episode, lame final scene. Glad I invested so much time watching seasons 2-7 to get ready for this season.
-
Or did they already do Dexter's kid murdering everyone?
-
Anyone want to predict tonight's finale?
I'm guessing Hannah McKay either dies or leaves without Dexter. I think Deb will be OK. And Dexter will just be there.
I'm pumped.

Just don't get the big deal about Adam Cole. Guy seems talented enough but he's just REALLY bland.
Wow do you even watching Indy wrestling?
To be honest, I'm not sure how much of the board really watches indy wrestling anymore.
-
I did not know that. Now it makes sense. Thanks.

I could see Bully Ray working quite well right now given that THEY'RE ANTI-BULLYING AND HE'S A HEEL. But they've basically got Ryback doing that aspect of things now. Devon as a WWE trainer would be a good idea, but I don't see him signing a WWE contract without Bully.
Yeah, I've never gotten that whole "omg bully heels totally contradict the BA Star message" spiel. What, and the Smurfs is unsuitable for children because of Gargamel?
My mom thought so...I wasn't allowed to watch it, it was witch craft according to Jimmy Swaggart. I was, however, allowed to watch juice filled matches from Jim Crockett NWA, so go figure.
Your mom's a smart woman. Smurfs were (are?) nothing but pro-socialism/anti-capitalism propaganda.
Cena thing?I think a potential problem with Mickie, aside from her age, is the whole Cena thing.
She had an affair with Cena in 2008/2009. She wanted it to get serious, but he broke it off. She promptly proceeded to go into stalker mode and made his life rather difficult on Raw. She apparently got drafted to SmackDown soon after pretty much because Cena wanted her away from him.
The stories have been flying around for years, but Kenny Doane famously talked about it after news of Cena's divorce hit. He blames it for ruining his career. Basically. he found out what was going on, complained to management, they said they'd handle it and then he vanished off of TV soon after.
IMO, he was a fool for thinking management would take his side over Cena's.
Why does Kenny blame it for ruining his career and why would he complain to management about something not involving him (unless I'm missing something)?

For me, the problem is the constant 75 minute shows. There's just no need.

It really is amazing how Margaret went from being a greatly intriguing character in season one to becoming progressively more boring in seasons two and especially three.

I like IWA-MS a lot and I don't care for much of Ian's faults, but I must take the opportunity to share this oh so terrible confrontation~ between Jimmy Jacobs and BJ Whitmer in fuckin' 2012
Nothing better than talking about how the company is currently in the crapper and pales in comparison to the good ol' days.

As if there was any doubt that Clay was the biggest babyface on the show... tonight's episode just confirms that.
I thought this was the best episode in a while. They actually justified having 90 minutes. Good stuff. I just don't know how the rest of the season plays out.
