  1. 1) Madison Square Garden (my favorite, saw WrestleMania 10 there when I was just a young pup, Survivor Series 2002, Royal Rumble 2008 and plenty of house shows and a Raw during the Attitude Era)

    2) Nassau Coliseum (my least favorite, in part at least due to my fellow Long Islanders being horrendous wrestling fans, SummerSlam 2002 not withstanding)

    3) The New Yorker Hotel (ROH's first Manhattan venue and my favorite ROH venue ever. It was tight, small and I doubt could fit 1,000 people in there, but you were super close to the action, the fans were always hot and because it was such a small building, the noise was always at another level)

    4) The Grand Ballroom and Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center for ROH shows. Both were cool venues although it sucked having to walk what felt like 30 flights of stairs to the Grand Ballroom

    5) Basketball City at one of the Pier's for a few ROH shows. Not a great venue. Never had the energy of the New Yorker or even the Manhattan Center

    6) Sports Plus on Long Island (15 minutes at most from my house) again for some ROH shows. See my gripe about the Coliseum for my gripe about Sports Plus

    7) The place where NYWC runs their shows but for an ROH show because Sports Plus closed and killed off a part of my childhood too

    8) The minor league ballpark in Buffalo for the Ballpark Brawl in 2003. It was fun for what it was

    9) The Rex Plex in New Jersey. I'm biased towards this place because it was pretty much the NJ version of Sports Plus and it was also the place where I first saw ROH live. Got to see At Our Best and also the second night of Liger's tour in 2004.

Not sure if I'm missing any.

  2. So, if I still got like, 20 months on my AT&T Next, how hard is it to tell them to fuck off and die and jump to Verizon?

Because I'm royally pissed that the tower down the street from me that I solely run on at home has been down for 5 days.

Call/go to Verizon, tell them your situation and see what they say. Sometimes the carriers will have deals where they buyout whatever's remaining on your deal.

  3. Looks like I'm finally fucking off to Verizon this weekend. Normally I'd be all about the S6 but no replaceable battery/expandable memory card is a bummer. Thoughts on the G4?

Not a bad phone. Great camera. Terrible Android skin (almost universally considered worse than Samsung's and HTC's). Performance is pretty good. Battery life is OK but not ideal. Display is good (not Samsung good, but good). Depending on what you're coming from, I doubt you'd be disappointed.

Does anyone here have the Nexus 6? Thoughts?

I've had it since it came out on Verizon in March. I really like it. I came from the original 2013 Moto X. Size wise it's a monster of a phone, no doubt about it. It's definitely not great one handed. I'm a small guy (5'6) with I guess average sized hands, but the phone's size doesn't bother me much because I love the huge screen real estate. I definitely couldn't see myself going back to a 5" phone. The battery life is decent. I would say it's a step better than the S6 but also a step or two behinds the Droid Turbo type phones. The camera is fine in daylight (especially if you download one of the camera's that take advantage of Android's new camera processing software that still doesn't come built into the default camera) but less than ideal at night. Video's look wonderful because you can shoot them at 2160p. Performance is good since it's just stock Android and with a lot of the 2015 phones using the Snapdraggon 808 (vs. the N6's 805), it really doesn't feel dated. The screen is decent because of the high resolution but also not nearly as good as a Samsung or even the G4. Personally, I still favor the N6 over every phone on the market because it has stock Android, I fell in love with the size (but that's totally subjective) and everything else is decent enough on it. Of course it has a non-removable battery and non-expandable storage but that's never been an issue for me, might be for you.

The Note 5 is probably the only other phone I'd consider but I think I'd still favor the N6, at least until the next round of Nexus phones are unveiled at the end of the month.

  4. Wasn't Steve at home injured during most of the X-Pac/Tori/Kane stuff? I remember that kicking in high gear after Austin was run down. I could imagine a bored Steve Austin militantly watching RAW and SmackDown.

With a pen and paper taking notes so he didn't miss anything when he posted his reviews online under an alias.

  5. Battery reviews are tough because there's so many variables that affect battery life, not to mention reviews generally only factor in a brand new battery and not how well it stacks up after 6 months or a year. Anandtech tends to get pretty deep with their reviews, so you might want to check them out.

I would have suggested the Moto X Pure/Style but I don't know about the battery life. It has the same as my Nexus 6 and while I find that my N6 gives me good battery life, it's also well short of the Droid Turbo or older Droid Maxx phones.

  6. They also got Hogan for 2K14 when he still had some deal with TNA. Not sure what it was, but they were upset about it.

I'm assuming he isn't in, I obviously haven't heard for sure. It is odd, however, that he basically lobbied to be back with WWE last year when his contract expired and they flat out wouldn't take him. Not the case with Hogan (pre racist rant).

I think the thing with Angle is that he still probably wants to wrestle a limited schedule, whereas Hogan was with being in his "ambassador" role or whatever.

  7.

Fwiw, Bix, the new Nexus 5 looks to be coming out 9/29.

Well, if the rumored specs are true (namely 3180 mAh battery and the screen being 1080p as opposed to stupidly high res) and it's got the rumored old-school Nexus price point, that sounds like it might be perfect. Curious just how good the camera is besides high MP count and if it has one of those low power always on voice command processor thingies.

Any word yet on when the official announcement should me?

Hey Bix, if you can hold off for a little bit, I think it'll be worth your while. If LG releases the 2015 Nexus 5, and it seems like that's going to happen at some point this year, that'll probably be your best bet. If the rumored specs are true, then it'll be perfect for you. I wouldn't worry about the camera because Android cameras have actually come a long way since the original Nexus 5. Even my Nexus 6 takes pretty good pictures. Not Galaxy/LG/iPhone good, but still more than usable.

Also, there are rumors that Verizon will be getting two Droid-branded phones this year, one as a successor to the Droid Turbo and another one which will pretty much be the Moto X Play just in the US and only one Verizon. I'd say any of those three are better options than picking up a Droid Turbo. I also wouldn't worry about Droid skin/bloatware too much as like you said, downloading the Google launcher fixes a lot of that real quick. The skin is also not as drastic as LG or Samsung's (acknowledging TouchWiz is better but still not perfect).

  8. I'm curious about the buffering issues. I've seen a lot of people complain about them with the old shows but I haven't had any issues in a while. Maybe it's because I watch a lot of the stuff around 1030-11pm at night (Eastern) but I feel like that can't be the only difference. I was having some issues a few months ago where it'd take a few minutes before settling in but it's been good for a while. I'm able to fast forward and stuff with no problems. I'm using a relatively old Roku 2 XS, although it is hard wired.

  9. Help,,  I just Downloaded Windows 10 and on my side of computer, all is well, just a little slow. My wifes side however, she cannot get into her email. We both use Outlook express and it seems that hers wont boot up. Keeps saying Windows Powershell stopped working.  Other than throwing it out the window,  Any solutions?   Please help...

Never heard of that issue before but check out this link: http://www.tenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/12828-after-windows-10-upgrade-getting-powershell-has-stopped-working-error.html

    Hope that helps.

  10.

Found out why Chrome was heating up my laptop: rogue extension. I had a Norton extension running and as soon as I disabled it, my computer's been running fine.

As for the tiles, I could have sworn I read somewhere that you could get rid of them from the start menu.

If that's the case, I may look into it.

Yeah try loading Chrome with no extensions and then re-add them one by one to see if you have a rogue one taxing your system.

Norton Antivirus: the world's most prolific virus.

Norton 360 actually ran very well for me. It was just the one Chrome extension that sucked.

  11. Incredible sendoff. I hadn't watched The Daily Show in a couple of years but I used to watch it every night, so watching the finale still got to me and being that I did most of my watching while I was in college (shocker, I know), this kinda felt like the official ending of that chapter of my life, even if I've been out of college for several years. Colbert was awesome and him bringing Jon to tears was just tremendous. I was also thrilled we got to see John Oliver. All the correspondents making appearances was terrific. This felt like SNL 40 if SNL 40 wasn't bloated and everyone wanted to be there with each other. Farewell Jon... good luck Trevor.
