  1. I get why the iPhone X and the Essential Phone have notches. I don't understand why certain companies decide to add a "notch" just to copy Apple and not because it's required by tech they're using. Now maybe the OP6's notch will be to house sensors and the like but if it's just because some people think Apple started a trend... that's dumb.

I stopped growing at 14, and this is the most hopeful I've felt in years.  I'm about to turn 36, and am eagerly awaiting my late 30s growth spurt.

As someone who turns 30 in just under 2 weeks and is 5'7 on their best day, I'm also looking forward to a late 30s growth spurt.

  3. I have an iPhone 7+. Over the past couple of years I've went from the Nexus 6 to the iPhone 6S+ (first iPhone), to the Galaxy S7 Edge (first Android phone without stock or mostly stock software) to the iPhone 7+ I have now.

I like it. iMessage is great since almost everyone I text with is also an iPhone user. The camera is good/reliable if not quite the Pixel. The battery life is better than any Android phone I've used (although I miss having quick charging capability for when my battery is running low). The software is what it is... you are able to switch out your default keyboard now. You can't necessarily make Google Maps the default maps app universally but certain other apps that would open a maps app will often default to GMaps. I like iOS 10.

I don't know if I love it to the point where I could really passionately sell it to you over whatever you're currently using. In fact, if I didn't know as many people with iPhones as I do, I'd consider switching to the Pixel. My dad has a Pixel and I'm always impressed with it whenever I use it because the software is definitely the smoothest I've ever used on an Android device and the camera is also the best I've used on probably any smartphone ever.

Sorry for the delayed response. My computer has been in the shop for a bit so I haven't been checking a lot of stuff aside from social media. Did you ever wind up coming to a decision?

  4. Well like a bozo, I already sent the laptop in because I thought the problem was that the LCD cable was loose. Based on my Google research, that seemed to be the culprit, so I didn't think the repair cost would be as high as $400. I can't run a diagnostic but I imagine everything else is still good on the unit. The hinge broke a while ago, I'd say at least a year ago if not longer.

  5. I bought my laptop about 2 and a half years ago. A week and a half ago, I sent it in for repair for a second time. The first time was an issue where one of the hinges on the screen broke. Fortunately it was under warranty so they repaired it for free. This time the issue was that the screen flickers/eventually goes black whenever you move the physical lid, causing me to have to put the device to sleep in order to get it to work again. It happened frequently enough that it became difficult to do any type of extended task on it.

I bought the laptop online, had it custom built on Xotic PC for about $1,200. It's legitimately a great device (when not in for repair) in terms of performance since my C drive is a solid state and my D drive is a 7200 rpm hard drive. However, with my computer no longer under warranty, the repair bill is $400. I firmly believe that based on performance alone, my computer still has several years (at least) of strong performance ahead. But with this now being the second time that it's in need of fixing, my fear is that this could become a recurring issue. Do you guys think its worth the $400 to fix it up and keep going or do you think I should take that money and apply it to a new machine?

So this Verizon deal that starts tomorrow.  Hot damn.  I'm still on an iPhone 5 because I can't stomach the thought of dumping $5-700 on something I've gotten used to as just a convenience.  But I guess now I can grab a Pixel, iPhone 7, or Galaxy S7 for $200.

I'm planning on getting a Galaxy mainly so I can play around with VR Gear.  Which will cost me a lot less than buying a PS4 and their headset and will probably be more enjoyable.

I just got my dad a Pixel for his birthday a few days ago and if you want an Android, I highly suggest that. I had a GS7 for a bit but soured on it pretty quick. The Pixel is really nice. The software experience is easily the best and most responsive I've ever seen on an Android device. The camera is also tremendous and at worst is on par with the GS7 and iPhone 7 and in some ways even better. I can't comment to the battery life though.

If you're looking to stay with Apple, I have the iPhone 7+ and really enjoy it. Either way, I'd probably stay away from the GS7. It's not a terrible device but if all things are equal, I think the Pixel or iPhone 7 are easily better options.

Was reading 'The Death of WCW' and had never heard that Davey Boy Smith was supposed to be the 4th member of the nWo part before.

What would Davey Boy Smith, nWo member have been like?  Would he have ended up doing all the jobs for the nWo?  Would he have been a top-ish guy (Keeping in mid this was before guys like Rotunda and Traylor were in the nWO), maybe had a US Title run? He worked well as part of the Hart Foundation, so I think he actually could have been a lot of fun running interference for Hogan, Hall and Nash.  It also would be interesting to see if his wrestling character would have evolved with them, or if he would just be the same character with an nWo shirt.

I think Davey Boy standing around with the sunglasses and cutoff sleeves as the "muscle" for the nWo would have worked. Yeah the promos still wouldn't have been great but I also don't know how much they would have asked him to talk.

  8. I currently have a PS4 and I'm looking into getting an Xbox One (I love me some Gears of War). Question for those who might know: I do not have a 4K TV and do not plan on getting one anytime soon. The Scorpio is expected to launch next year with a better performing GPU and other spec bumps. However, will I see the benefit of that on my 1080P TV or will it only be appreciated on a 4K screen? If the spec improvements only matter for 4K, then it makes sense for me to jump on one of the Black Friday bundles.

So, because I'm pathological, I feel the need to upgrade my phone every year.

This week, I moved back to current flagship status. My LG V20 was delivered yesterday. Today it began life as my daily driver. Took it off the charger at about 10:20 this morning. Probably have had 4.5 hours of screen on time. Battery is still at 32%.

    I'm in love.

I understand. From October 2015-current, I've gone from a Nexus 6, to an iPhone 6S+, to a Galaxy S7 Edge, and back to my iPhone 6S+ until I got the iPhone 7+ on launch day a few weeks ago. Think I've settled in with iOS though so this should last me until next year's iPhone 8+ or whatever it'll be called.

  10. Gerald's "have you seen this? Have you heard about this?" line and smile was tremendous. Strong start to the season. Also, in the premiere when one of the girl's called Cartman a fat fuck and Butters just lost it laughing, gold. GOLD. Oh, and anything involving Scott Malkinson is A+++

  11. Granted, I don't live in New York City but I've lived on Long Island my whole life and have frequented/commuted to Manhattan enough and yeah, the whole "New Yorkers are mean" is a little overblown. We don't go out of our way to wave/say hi to every stranger we encounter and sometimes the workers may not be overly outgoing or super duper nice, but most aren't mean either and have no issue helping someone out.

  12. Agreed. I remember the win vividly, one of my favorite wrestling moments as a kid. Nitro was doing pretty well (quality-wise) I thought right until about this time when they transitioned into the "kill time until Sting/Hogan at Starrcade" phase by just having the nWo get even stronger, namely with Hennig turning on the Four Horsemen and joining the nWo because... because.

  13. Glad they're simplifying things. I played the older TEW's a bit and played EWR a lot. I loved EWR's simplicity but always wanted just a little bit more when it came to the actual booking. TEW was too much for me to really get into. For example, and I may be in the minority, stuff like contract negotiations and stuff were so much simpler (albeit less realistic) with EWR. You just offered, it was either accepted or rejected and you moved on. Similar with sponsorships. TEW was more realistic with the back and fourth and that it'd take days at a time to get an answer, but I just wanna get going and not really be concerned with a lot of the non-booking stuff. Hoping this version of TEW will let me have my dream of EWR but a little more detailed.
