  1. Anyone else starting to find it weird that basically nothing has happened with Bledsoe or Monroe?

Not really.  I thought the priority would be waiting for Lebron and Carmelo to figure out where they were going, then the next movement would involve guys like Ariza, Deng, Pierce, Parsons, and Hayward.  With Bledsoe and Monroe, you have the restricted free agents whose teams seem willing to match a max contract, so teams aren't going to go after them unless the other top free agents are taken care of, because tying up your cap means you might lose out on other opportunities.  We might not see those guys go anywhere before Lance Stephenson's destination is worked out.

  2. Was I the only one who came away from that Rusev segment with the feeling that Swagger might eventually turn on Zeb Coulter and align with Lana?  How would the crowd react if Cesaro came out to save Zeb from a double beatdown?

  3.

I know they want Kevin Love and it's probably the right move but as a fan, I want to see LeBron and Wiggins running the court together.

Obviously in Canada nobody wants to see this Wiggins for Love bullshit. Pretty much all our interest can stay on one club this way and we can ignore the rest of the NBA until the playoffs as always.

Who do you most want to see traded to the Cavs to consolidate your rooting interests?  Kelly Olynyk?  Nik Stauskus?  Corey Joseph? Joel Anthony?

  4. Signing Spencer Hawes using the MLE made the Clippers unlikely.

I thought Pierce would go to one of the teams chasing Luol Deng and Trevor Ariza.  I saw Washington as possible, but thought there were other teams that were better bets because they could offer more: Phoenix, Dallas (if Houston matches the Parsons offer sheet), Atlanta.  I thought Pierce would have made some sense for Chicago if they didn't get Carmelo Anthony.

He's got a sort of mini-Lebron deal where the second year is a player option, so I expect him to decline his option and hit the market again next summer.

  5. ...So how does the third team fit in? I'm assuming this is outside of the Lin deal, so does this mean LA possibly gets Asik?

The Omer Asik trade to New Orleans is complicated.  Maybe they are trying to get the Lakers to take some contracts, such as Austin Rivers, to help facilitate that.

  6. I'm still not into Pau Gasol as Plan B or even a C. Noah/Taj/Mirotic/Gasol rotating minutes?

I think the main reason Gasol is talked about as an option is because they think they have a shot at dumping Boozer via trade instead of using the amnesty provision, like they would with the other Plan B names tossed around like Trevor Ariza and Lance Stephenson.

@@MySportsLegion: ...the Heat twitter account has lost nearly 300,000 followers since LeBron's announcement.

To the surprise of no one, Heat fans jumping off the bandwagon.

To the surprise of everyone, they're doing it early.

It's only a surprise because most people assumed Heat fans wouldn't even notice until March.

I give them some credit and expected them to notice by the end of August.

  8. This is interesting...

The greatest irony of all: Cleveland holds Miami's first round pick in 2015, sent to Cleveland for LEBRON JAMES in 2010.

Maybe Miami offers to do a sign-and-trade w/ Lebron getting his 5th year so they could get that pick back.

Under the new CBA, a sign-and-trade contract can't be longer than four years.

Guess they should have lottery protected the pick.

Miami's pick is top ten protected for 2015 and 2016 and unprotected in 2017.

  9. its gonna be a busy weekend for everyone in the NBA. Figure Melo decides by tomorrow and that sends whoever doesn't get him into their Plan Bs, Cs, and Zs...

Everyone's plan B seems to be Trevor Ariza, which is good news for him, since he is reportedly looking for Iguodala money.

  10. Fortunately, Seattle had Taco Time and New Mexico has Del Taco; so Taco Hell is never a consideration. If I'm THAT hungry at 2AM, I'll go to Wal-Mart and get some crabcakes or something.

I feel like a lose a little bit of my soul every time I step into a WalMart.

  11. Hey man, the chance to play with a young beast like Andre cancels out at least one of Jennings and Smith.

The only current NBA player whose FT% is low enough to mathematically justify a hack-a-Shaq strategy?  Drummond's free-throw shooting is worse than J-Smoove's perimeter game.

  12. Cornette is a good guy. He only mentions that shit because people keep asking him about it. He is more than happy to talk about Memphis, Mid South or old NWA.

But the whole Youshoot crowd wants to hear him cuss about Russo or whatever. You know why Russo does not get mad? He does not give a shit about anyone or anything but himself. That is why he was content to watch TNA rot from within,

For a change of pace, who can we ask Corny to talk about other than Russo that would lead him to cuss a lot?
