  1. Dragon Gate is splitting into two companies - one in Japan and one in China

    Quote

    Fans, friends, and everyone

Today we would like to make several announcements.

Dragon Gate President Takashi Okamura is stepping down from his position due to health related issues.

Domestic operations will continue under a new company: Dragon Gate Entertainment, Inc. Dragon Gate Senior Management member Toru Kido has been promoted to lead Dragon Gate Entertainment operations.

Nobuhiko Oshima (CIMA) will assume the role of president for Dragon Gate Inc. This branch will focus on Shanghai, China. T-Hawk, El Lindaman, & Takehiro Yamamura will be Dragon Gate Inc. roster members and will also be based out of Shanghai with the OWE promotion as a priority While this will decrease their appearances in Japan, we hope fans will continue to support their efforts while they undertake this new challenge.

We would like to thank fans for their continued support and ask for their understanding during this transition.

    Dragon Gate Inc.
    Dragon Gate Entertainment Inc.

  2. Not sure if Sting was really hurt or not, but Bret Hart did a periscope where he kinda ripped Seth for injuring wrestlers (Cena).

I noticed on the first buckle bomb that Seth deliberately placed Sting gently into the turnbuckles.

    The second time...not so much,

  3. MAJOR CHANGE WITHIN TNA REGARDING TALENT CONTRACTS

By Mike Johnson on 2015-07-21 10:17:35

A sizable portion of the TNA roster have been informed over the last week that their current TNA contracts, which include a monthly guarantee, will be dropped by TNA. In their place, TNA is offering per-appearance deals.

The way the former contracts worked is that TNA paid talents a monthly fee and then paid them additional per appearance. So if a talent was booked ten times a month, they were paid that as well as their guarantee. If they didn't work at all, they still had the guarantee.

In some cases that we have heard of, TNA will now pay talents a little more per appearance than they were already receiving with the idea that it will make up for the loss of the guarantee and should the company start booking more dates, the talent could be in line to get even more money.

As you can imagine, we've heard from a number of talents who aren't thrilled about this. No one wants to see money they knew they had coming in suddenly disappear and become something they have to hustle to now make up for. It's entirely possible some of them could turn down the new deals and end up finishing up their TNA tenures abruptly.

Obviously, this is part of the new, changing financial reality of TNA as it changes it's model to fit what it's become: a company that produces a TV show, as opposed to what it was trying to be - a full fledged, touring pro wrestling company.

While I suspect certain top talents will be held to guarantees (Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy and if TNA is smart, EC3), the vast majority of the company will now be working on per appearance deals.

End of an era: "Nightmare" Danny Davis Sells Ohio Valley Wrestling

    But who to?

    July 7, 2015

After 22 years in business and mentoring more than 150 athletes to professional wrestling’s national stage Ohio Valley Wrestling owner Danny Davis will immediately step away from the company he founded.

Monday Davis announced the completed sell of majority ownership in Ohio Valley Wrestling to a private investor. Davis said, “I have been searching for the perfect person to carry on OVW's legacy and I believe I’ve found them.”

OVW launched in 1993 and eventually grew into the developmental training territory for both World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Total Nonstop Action (TNA) the two largest sports entertainment companies in the United States.  Davis’ resume is unmatched. No other professional wrestling company in the world has helped more talent fulfill their dreams on the national stage. Davis played a vital role in coaching the biggest stars in the wrestling industry over the last two decades including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Randy Orton.

“I want to thank the guys and girls who allowed me to play a part in their careers and the OVW fans for their unwavering dedication.” He said, “I’ve been mulling this decision for several weeks and the time is right for my family to begin a new chapter.”

Davis’ career started in the 1970’s in the old Memphis wrestling territory. He's respected the world over as “The Nightmare” a tag team wrestling expert. On July 4th, Davis teamed with one of his first students, “Ironman” Rob Conway, a former WWE Superstar and multi time NWA World Champion at the OVW Saturday Night Special.

Davis is inviting all fans, media and OVW wrestlers past and present to this Wednesday’s television taping, July 8th, 2015. The new majority owner of Ohio Valley Wrestling will be introduced.

OVW TV takes places in Davis Arena, 4400 Shepherdsville Rd. Louisville, KY. 40218. Doors open at 6:30pm. General admission seats are $5.
