The only gimmick I have is stating my opinions and trying to back them up. On the other hand there's at least 2-3 posts a day you post that make me say out loud holy fucking shit that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen on this board.

Let's not forget you argued that right of first refusal means WCW had to say no to the $60million dollar offer on the table from Fusient Media because WWE offered $2.5 million instead over in the Dark Side thread. So I guess I'll just defer to your superior intelligence and walk away in shame 🙄

I know when to take the L and leave

I suggest you learn to do the same

As stated I find it unethical. Those three went out and did something that company couldn't do for themselves. All In outdrew what ROH could draw. All In pulled in more ppv buys than ROH could at the time. All In made more waves and buzz than ROH ever did. It's pretty simple. Im always a bit taken aback when people side with the big companies taking credit for something they had no part in. If ROH wanted to own something like All In they should have put the work in to make one happen. Not take someone else's accomplishment and just slap their little (TM) after it.

You are free to disagree with me on it. But stop acting like what I'm saying is some foreign concept with no basis.

Also I have no idea how The Bucks or Cody feel about this subject one way or the other. My view point isn't predicated on what their viewpoint is tho. Even if they were totally fine with it I still find it unethical.

I know your entire gimmick is uninformed contrarian hot takes because you like to start arguments, but come on

I prob know the answer, but did Quack book everything in chikara

Yes, with the caveat that he actually paid someone to keep track of the storylines and go around the crowd during shows to explain things to fans who got confused. I'm blanking on the guy's name.

  4. Treat it like episodic TV and have a new "director" every week who serves as guest booker

Tony gives them the bullet points they have to hit - but how they get where they need to go is up to the director

I remember Steve Corino was brought in to book a month's work of WWECW shows at one point as a tryout and they were really good.

Bring in Russo to book Dynamite and bring in Cornette to book Collision at the same time

Tony wastes money by stacking his roster for no reason when he could be having much more fun

What in the actual fuck are you talking about? Smart Mark isn't a wrestling promotion that told Mike Burns hey brother you can go out and do your own side project. And then after the fact went like well like sikkeeee, all the work you put in is actually our property. Smart Mark is a videographer service that you hire. You pay them x dollars. They produce your DVDs / streams and you split the profits with them based upon the deal you signed. But they don't own your footage. They just produce / display it based upon the contract you sign. Horrible analogy for this situation.

Your default position to everything is "The Elite and their billionaire employer are victims, actually" and you work backwards from there

    Cute gimmick

ROH gave them all the permissions to run and promote a stand alone event. Then when they sold out instantly I feel ROH's stance on the event changed. It was a jealousy. I'm suggesting if you give your guys permission to do their own spinoff show (that they did 100% of the branding, marketing, and promotion for themselves), you don't then go ah well yeah we said you could doooo ittt..... but like you can't ownnnn itttt. It's a backhanded thing to do. If you give your guys the freedom to do it, don't nickle and dime them after the fact.

If I told you how Smart Mark Video made their money, your mind would totally be blown bro

Promoters who are too cheap to invest in their own promoters' license and video production generally pay someone else to use theirs

This is essentially it, but because Cody & The Bucks did production through Ring of Honor, the deal was that Ring of Honor owned the footage and rights to the event. So AEW legally wasn't allowed to use the All In name. So riffed off of it with All Out. Since going all in and going all out essentially mean the same thing. But ROH kinda did The Bucks & Cody dirty. Sure we will film the event for you and sign off on music rights, but we own the footage and name is some shady shit. Some we're jealous you did so well energy.

The way Tony Khan tells it, The Elite knew AEW was coming months in advance and could have given ROH/NJPW a heads-up instead of piggybacking off their infrastructure and then skipping town on both companies at the end of 2018

Unless you wanted them to cancel All In and reschedule it for 2019 as an AEW production, I'm not sure what you would have expected ROH contracted talents to have done differently

  8. Bucks and the women's division continue to be ratings poison.

So, Brian Alvarez suggests that a good finish for Cole vs MJF would be Cole hitting MJF with a roll of quarters.

But I only know this because Bix has decided that this means Alvarez is endorsing a Nazi Hate Crime:

I, for one, am shocked that the unsightly man who shit his pants at a wrestling show and has devoted his life to ruining Dave Meltzer is extrapolating a hate-crime from a proposed wrestling finish to try and tarnish Meltzer's staff

I know there are injury issues (Danielson, Hayter, PAC, Mercedes Mone). I know plans have changed for multiple reasons. I know Collision was a surprise. I know that Punk probably led to some instability.

Yeah I think Mercedes was a big "wait and see" - last I heard she was still walking with a boot on her leg

Not that I wanted to see Mercedes vs. Saraya at Wembley, but at least it would have made sense

My only problem with the show so far is MJF & Cole wrestling twice, but I’m willing to trust the process and ride out that story.

"MJF and Cole wanted to have a banger tag match before they broke up"

It's understandable, but putting it on at the last-minute is telegraphing the turn

  12. Originally with all the New Japan guys flying into America for the ECW Arena shows next weekend, my first thought a couple months ago was "oh cool- they'll all work Dynamite and then fly out to Wembley with the AEW crew"

Now I'm not so sure - seems like other than Ospreay/Shingo/Ishii/Finlay/Phantasmo/Shibata already being in London for RevPro the night before All In..that might be it for New Japan cooperation

In that moment, I noticed that the AEW hardcam guardrail seemed much further away than the guardrails RVD usually does that spot on, and I wondered if we might be in for another Sting situation. But Rob just full force yolo’d it to get there.

I think RVD historically doesn't fuck with the guardrails because that's a lucha thing - I remember Rey and Psychosis in ECW started the "pull the guardrails right up to the ring apron so when you dive into the crowd it looks impressive, but you don't actually have to exert much effort" trend

Rob taking a "play the hand I'm given" approach with the ringside environment is much more commendable

As for the show, I'm halfway through what I'm going to watch and my big takeaway is that I think Jack Perry might just be something special as a heel but I need to see more to really know.

Perry Lynn vs. Rob Van Dam in a Stretcher Match at Wembley?

I’m always paying $30 to go see a show I don’t normally watch. That is very normal behavior.

Why do parents take their kids to NFL preseason games (tickets are dirt cheap and they couldn't afford the experience otherwise)

Get-in price for the Jaguars game at Wembley the week after All In is $100

  16. 31 minutes ago, John from Cincinnati said:

Correct. All In is the biggest event in wrestling history.

By a single metric - and that's largely because with $30 tickets it's going to draw a lot of casual fans who wouldn't normally be able to afford going to any event at Wembley

Which is why I suggested booking Davey Boy Smith Jr. so the large chunk of the crowd who doesn't watch AEW can go "oh, I remember his dad!"
