I admire Gordlow's ability to ignore the hauntingly dead crowd
Really, they need to get out of Ontario before they kill the entire province
I thought Sting's jaw was shattered until he started moving it again near the end of the match

Speaking of DBS, a video of Fit Finlay vs. Young David from 1982 popped into my YouTube feed. Has any other wrestler (maybe Brian Cage) had as drastic a physique change in 10 years as DBS? In 1992, he doesn't even look like a real human being. It looks like the transformation scene in Captain America: The First Avenger but on a more absurd level.
Harry was always a twig, and then I remember being surprised at him showing up on Hogan Knows Best looking like Popeye when he was dating Brooke

If it's that one rumor all I can tell you is he denied it on Reddit without elaborating much on it.
The story goes that he worked this battle royal during WrestleMania weekend in 2013, and after disclosing *his problem* many wrestlers dropped out of the match or refused to be in the ring at the same time as him. Outside of a lone GCW appearance in 2016, he hasn't been booked on the East Coast since:
PWS Heavyweight Title #1 Contendership Battle Royal: Bonesaw defeats Cassidy Riley and Corey Havoc and Devious and Drunken Swashbuckler and Facade and Francis Kipland Stevens and Human Tornado and Jobber Dustin and Jobber Justin and Joe Hardway and John Silver and Jon Phoenix and Kennedy Kendrick and Kevin Steen and Lance Anoai and Micah Taylor and Mo Sexton and Pat Buck and Simon Dean and Sonjay Dutt and Starman and The Big O and The Hurricane and Timmy Aiight and Trent Barreta (12:00)

If Human Tornado didn't get that serious knee injury, you gotta think he'd be one of the top guys in AEW or atleast in a big non inring position there like Excalibur. He was such a big name in the So Cal indies that he would been a part of the foundation of AEW. I could also have seen him in NXT in the mid 2010s when they were picking up Indy talent left and right
There's a reason why promotions stopped using him, and it has nothing to do with a knee injury

I've never seen it confirmed or denied, but isn't Feinstein involved with Battleground?
Yeah it's run by him and Timothy Embler, who used to run the conventions as part of Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore weekends.

Aside from the "Don Callis just waltzes back to the ring with impunity" shenanigans - which ultimately I wasn't as angry about by the end of the match since ultimately Will still had to EARN the victory after that went down - this honestly was one of the most perfect wrestling matches for me ever.
I think the pro-tier move would have been for the masked goons to disappear with Don backstage as he's thrown out, and then later in the match the goons reappear but ONE OF THEM IS DON
This is clearly too much effort for Don, so we got the lazy run-in instead

Tan really needed to learn from Rampage that he has a problem with the way the buckles are here, and him constantly trying to not lose his footing on the top rope took away from the match.
I feel like there needs to be an industry-wide discussion regarding turnbuckles.
Between Tanahashi almost slipping and breaking something because he's not used to the individual US pads, and Mercedes slipping and breaking her leg because she's not used to the NJPW style full-pads...maybe a compromise would be single pads in two corners and full pads in the other two? (the same styles across from each other of course)
That way Danielson can still do his turnbuckle flip, which he wouldn't be able to do in an NJPW ring with the full pads.
Otherwise I can just imagine him on 1/4 in Tokyo Dome staring at the pads and going "fuck".

Broken arm for Danielson, out 6-8 weeks. Wrestled last 10 minutes with it.
Tony Deppen should sue for gimmick infringement

Was anyone else bothered by Taz underselling Hook getting beat down?
If he's in cahoots with Jungle Boy, that's genius. If not...Taz is lazy beyond belief.
They cut to him when he's supposed to show concern, and he looked like he's trying to keep from laughing.

oh, and someone really should have told Ospreay that doing a Crossface in Canada within a day of the anniversary of unspeakable things was not a thing to do.
I think I caught that, the Sharpshooter, and Lance Storm's half-crab in the Canadian spam sequence - did I miss anything?

That convulsions spot really pissed me off. I love Bryan Danielson but I've criticised him before and I have to here.
On a night when we find out Adam Cole, whether you like him or not, might be shelved because of another concussion...how do you do that spot?

Tony Khan revealed he's using ChatGPT for booking ideas - I wonder if he starts blaming that when stuff like the seizure are done in poor taste
Ospreay-Omega was great, but the Callis stuff was ridiculous

Props to Athena for protecting Billie after she either had the wind knocked out of her or broke a rib early on in their match - absolute pro

I unironically love this. The music
No one ever makes the connection, but the underlying music in the Saturday Night's Main Event opening promos (and what AEW's knockoff music is based on) was Stewart Copeland's theme to the 1980s TV series "The Equalizer":

Even though I just said in the other thread how Tanahashi is kinda broken, I do think he and MJF can have a good match. MJF's style can be slower and more deliberate, he can get his heat without having to do spots that would make Tanahashi look slow/out of place. I'm not saying it will be a five star match or anything but if they have a good plan it could be a stealthy entertaining match if they lean into "work smart, not hard" to get around the limitations and lack of time in the ring together.
MJF bloodying Tanahashi and taking his place in G1 would be super

The thing is, and I say this as someone that loves Tanahashi, I don't think he is fixable (in that regard). He's just a 46 year old wrestler with 2500+ matches and he's just kinda broken.
Knee replacements and stem cells (if he can afford either) would be options - if not so he can stage a comeback, just so he can live without pain

Is there something preventing Tony from using old ROH footage on AEW television?
A 2 minute package about why Joe vs. Punk is important might have brought along more Dynamite fans to watch the Collision 6-man who weren't otherwise familiar with their history.
Assuming everyone's going to waste their time going back and freeze-framing the match listings while Excalibur announces them rapid-fire like an idiot seems like a stretch.
It shouldn't be the burden of the viewer to care about something - the television show's supposed to make us care.

Wasn't the talk that there was a lot of positivity coming out of Collision from people actually involved? Letting a couple malcontents running to Dave after Wednesday ruin things is silly when things actually seem okay.
Dynamite pulled a big rating without The Elite and now they're mad
Gotta passive-aggressively control that narrative instead of just admitting Punk's a draw

Hangman's loyal to the Bucks - if they go to WWE, he follows
I think Cody's Weird Friends showing up at Royal Rumble to set up a year-long feud between The Elite and The Bloodline would be great
Omega seems like the most-likely to make amends with Punk and work with him
