  1. Kris Wolf is all about the character/personality. If you're looking for technically great/very good wrestling matches then you're looking in the wrong place with her. She provides something different to most and plays her character well. It's very subjective and completely depends on what you're in to. I think wrestling needs a good balance of top talent but various personalities and characters. Comedy works well when it's done right and she manages to do that quite well at times.

She's very marmite. Some will absolutely get her and love her. Others won't get it at all and find it ridiculously cringey. That's wrestling and life in general. For me personally wrestling needs over the top characters like her.

  2. Mayu finally won the red belt yesterday.

Interestingly in other news Io said today that she's been suffering from neck issues and is taking time out to get treatment. I'd imagine that confirms her not being in the WWE Women's tournament.

Nothing gets fast forwarded! And I've seen Meiko's flailing arms in WCW and naturally made a joke about it ;)

Kairi's announcement confused a lot of people, as they seem to think she is leaving next weekend which isn't the case. No date has been announced but she isn't leaving that soon, hell she still has a title defense against Mayu coming up. I made an attempt to Google Translate her interview on their website and it just mentions (I think) that the visa is still being worked out so there isn't a set date yet on when she will have her last match. My assumption is she'll be gone before the NXT Women's Tournament, which I expect her to win or at least reach the finals, to give her a boost going into NXT.

Not sure it's an NXT tournament? Last I saw it's billed as a Women's tournament, likely will be similar to the Cruiserweight classic, will be interesting to see if the winner goes straight up to the main roster or works in NXT first and what they even get for winning for that matter. The company didn't have title's/champions prior CWC and UK tournaments so it made sense for those to crown a champion. I imagine this one will be a trophy or something along those lines.

I'd expect her to win it unless Io announces she's signed with the WWE before then. I'm convinced we'll see Asuka/Kairi at some stage this year or very early next year.

She doesn't speak English well. She doesn't have a unique style or character to set her apart. She is charismatic, but who knows if its really enough to push past her other problems. WWE is still sort of early in on figuring out how push women properly.to go along with their general booking problems that plague basically every part of the promotion. Kairi would have trouble under the best of circumstances. Add those in to Io coming in, and Kairi is likely fucked since Io is basically better than her in every way except building up sympathetic heat which is hard to build up with WWE's current audience anyways. Keep in mind I'm saying all of this, and Kairi is a favorite for me.

Except she does have the character to set her apart. She's one of the absolute best females out there at selling inside the ring and making you get behind her and root for her. I'm confident she can bring that over and translate it to a much bigger audience. People still love to root for the sympathetic babyface that can take an absolute beating and make you believe every moment of it. It's worked for people like Bayley, Sami Zayn and so on. They're completely different characters to Kairi but IMO she's in a similar mould in being able to make the audience really buy into her and care about her. She takes beatings brilliantly, her expressions, the sounds she makes, the way she moves around the ring...everything just comes together. And when you couple that with the fact that she's actually a ridiculously good worker who can go stiff as f*ck you've pretty much got yourself a winning combination.

Io will be fine because as I've mentioned before on here, for me there's no better female in business. She'll get over because she's that damn good. Kairi IMO will provide something completely different to both her and Asuka which will help her not get lost in the shuffle behind the two. She'll be in great hands down in NXT (if this all goes ahead of course and she starts down there, which you'd have to expect she would) where she'll be given plenty of build, protected well and given time to get familiar with the style and for the audience to follow along on her journey.

I don't think her not speaking much English will hurt her in the slightest. Like I said, she's charismatic and I think the audience she'll be going out to will quickly warm to her. If she can settle into a completely different environment and country then I think she'll be more than fine, I guess time will tell though mate.

  5. Not getting the "Kairi won't do well in the WWE" stuff what so ever. She'll be completely fine if she goes there. She's got the style and charisma to quickly get the fans on her side and to care about her. The benefit for Kairi is that she offers something completely different to Io and Asuka which will help her stand out, she's absolutely fantastic at playing a sympathetic babyface style role at times that really makes you care and root for her, she's just so believable in everything she sells. Think she'll quickly become popular with the mainstream audience.

Best is a stretch. It's a deep ocean and there's fish like Yoshiko, Arisa and Tsukushi outworking her anyway. One of the best in tags right now, but just having the same formula singles matches that can only be "just good" cuz you've seen it again and again in the same order is pulling her away from that.

Don't agree what so ever, she's not only the best female worker in the business IMO but one of the best workers period. For some bizarre reason a few people seem to have a dislike for her and Stardom in general. Nobody delivers on a high quality level that she does consistently bar possibly two/three women (Satomura being one of those). Tsukushi better than Io? Seriously? Yoshiko? Come on man.. It's not even close to being a stretch, take away your clear dislike for her because the idea that she's not among the best females working in the business right now is bizarre.

The whole "she's not really a heel" deal just emphasizes the frustrating ordeal with Stardom and Io's beyond staleness. She's legit the least interesting person in her entire faction, counting the one injured and the comedy kid they just thrown into the group

Io is the best female worker in the business (and even if you don't agree, you can't argue that she's not among the best). She's not even close to being stale.

Yoshiko was never 'forgiven' because she did nothing wrong. Io, Mayu and Hiroyo literally begged her to not retire, Suwama told her to not give in and stay strong, and I think they would know more about the situation than any of us would. Mayu still tweets Yoshiko publicly and no one is crying about it. Most fans know she did nothing wrong. Moreover, I haven't seen any of the Stardom girls (other than Fuka) talk to or even take pictures with Act since she left Stardom and she has attended several of their several shows. So we have one party who is universally loved and booked everywhere and another who is shunned by the roster, speaks volumes about who is in the wrong.

"Speaks volumes about who was in the wrong..."

It's pointless even continuing the discussion when you're making comments like that. Yeah, Yoshiko did nothing wrong. Let's ignore the actual video evidence showing Yoshiko beating the ever living sh*t out of Act, beating her to a bloody pulp and even going as far as to target the eye she had surgery on. Poor old Yoshiko, such an innocent loving woman. Who cares about the woman who got absolutely battered, hospitalised and had her career brought to an end.

Act clearly shot first placing Yoshiko in a position where she had to defend herself. She is not blameless and certainly no victim.

Yoshiko's reaction may have been over the top, but you mess with the bull, you get the horns, etc.

Load of absolute nonsense. What Yoshiko did was nothing short of absolutely disgusting and to be perfectly frank she shouldn't be wrestling again period.

Absolutely zero respect or care for the woman after that incident. Even more disgusting considering how she targeted the bad eye of Act. She ended the career of somebody who absolutely loved the business and somebody who had been through a large amount of stuff in her life yet overcome it to continue in wrestling. Your choice how you want to see it though, was just stating that I'll never personally watch any match involving her again and will only tune into the MMA fight in hope of seeing her get finished.

Yoshiko has been training with Nanae and the SEI☆ZA girls for a while. She's ready for this.

I kind of get a feeling that Arisa will join SEAdLINNNG. She is very close with them.

Yoshiko has done absolutely nothing wrong.

Yeah, no. She's a disgusting person who ended the career of another wrestler in an inexcusable way. How anybody can even attempt to defend that is beyond me. Zero desire to ever watch her wrestle a match again.

But hey, if you like people that legit beat the shit out of others in what's supposed to be a scripted and worked match and take away their career from them, that's up to you.

    Something tells me no.

Wasn't Yoshiko a highly trained judoka?  Or have I gotten her mixed up with somebody else.

Weight advantage will play into her hands but I can always hope to see somebody as unlikable as her get finished.

So how about Rossy going with Io/Viper again? This looks to be a boring month for Stardom esp. with top prospect Hana out.

Wrestling is very subjective and opinionated, it all comes down to the styles you like and don't like. Personally I appreciate a wide range of styles and for me Viper brings something a little different to the table and a stylistically different matchup to keep things fresh. Actually really enjoyed their previous match for the title (back in February I think? Seems like forever ago), I think this one has potential to be pretty good too but get that not everybody is going to enjoy it probably as much as I will.
