I gave up on TNA a long time ago, and I really want this fucking company to die. But Dixie won't cooperate. Stop enabling her, whoever it was that was stupid enough to give her money this time!
It's not so much I want TNA to die, I do, but it's more like, I want Dixie Carter away from wrestling FOREVER. I want Vince Russo to become a forgotten boogeyman of wrestling's past. I don't hate the wrestlers, and yeah the name is dumb, but it's the people who want to shovel this shit at me and tell me it's good, great, best thing in wrestling today, shilling at the top of their lungs that this isn't garbage....yeah that shit needs to fucking die.

Ya know, I think my favorite aspect of the Broken Mat thing is that I've learned he has completely gotten past Lita fucking him over. He's moved on and found a happy life. Good for him.

That was done better by Ian Rotten. Sadly.
XPW is Texas Chainsaw Massacre, IWAMS is Deliverance.

I hope TNA lives on forever. If it died, all you bitter people would have to complain about is WWE. And I can only handle so much "Steph puts no one over" and "RAW sucks" discussion.
If it dies and then comes back three days later should we start to panic?

How dare you put GLOW in the same category as XPW.
Yeah! XPW was awesome...in a sleazy horror show in the wrong side of town kind of way.

Is Jim Herd a contender? I mean, he had a shorter reign of terror in WCW but that's only because he finally got fired.
Not even close. He got held accountable when shit got bad and got fired. Dixie has never been held accountable for her hurting of TNA.

They brought back the six sided ring quite awhile ago. Held a fan poll or something.
I was always in favor of it just because it did something to differentiate them.
I think that was a real turning point for them. As soon as it went back to 4 sides, they turned right back into nothing special or different territory and it just killed them.

This is from WCW Slam Masters. Can anyone ID the jobber Simmons is beating? -

I don't think you can say cherry picked. They never bought anyone out of their contracts as far as I can remember. They signed Joe, Aries, Roode etc. after their contracts ran out.
I think Trevor Lee almost has to be a lock for WWE. Mark Andrews and Andrew Everett are at the very least good contenders for CWC 2.
You know what I mean - anything they wanted they already grabbed. Anyone left is getting table scrap offers at best and no offer at all is more likely.(Abyss vs Kane WM mainevent!)
Not like WWE couldn't afford to straight up violate any contract TNA had then lawyer them into bankruptcy over it if they wanted to.
Considering some of the alleged garbage participants in the CWC (didn't watch it myself) and how it didn't exactly light the wrestling world on fire (and by god it should have) I'm doubtful the WWE cares and I'm sure it would be another table scrap offer to start if they are even interested. WWE has more talents then it knows what to do with. Wasn't the WCW roster 205 deep at it's peak? WWE is over 100 right?
-
In regards to WWE pickups....look I know the brand split screwed things up a bit, but why would they take anyone left at this point? The WWE has an insane talent roster, useage not with standing. They've already cherry picked the guys they wanted, and it's not like they'd offer anything close on pay scale for them (smart business really). If the fed hasn't called by now, it's probably not happening. Look at Jesse Neal. He went after the WWE gig when he was free and the WWE laughed at him til he was out the door. Not like Hardys got younger. Sure Matt's act is cool, but WWE isn't formatted for what he's doing. Way better fit in ROH.

It would be so like TNA to work the fans into thinking they might be shutting down - then to screw things up and legitimately shut down
This would be the perfect ending.
It's after 4pm, can I sing "ding-dong-the-witch-is-dead" yet? Finally and forever?

Why oh why would that be the greatest achievement of Hart's career? Did he make an insane amount of money off it or something?
Probably because millions and millions of people have heard it. More people probably know that song than his hit with the Gentrys. It's kinda like how I'm proud that half a million people a week used to look at my work, now it's probably 10,000 a day, so I'm not as underground cool anymore.

Holy fucking shit. At $4,000 a show, that's 500 shows he could have run....dear god. And he'd have at least recouped some money that way.

As far as money marks go, she's had a pretty good run. She got to be on tv for years...got to put together ppvs..canoodle with many stars of yesteryear. She even got to be an action figure.
You could argue she's the most successful money mark of all time.
Blowing a lot of money is pretty much the opposite of success.

As it is, Corgan is trying to obtain majority ownership from Dixie so he can put his own stamp on the company, including changing its name, and Dixie is just being a colossal shithead. Let her go fuck off and crumble and then be the one there to pick up the pieces.
A-fucking-men. Notice how TNA actually started becoming interesting when Dixie was super busy trying to put out all the fires she started. Funny how that happened.
Corgan is still a massive moron for giving them even a dime. Like Cornette said, you can buy all that shit TNA has for far less than TNA is trying to sell it for.
Do we know how much Billy sunk in yet? I'd like to do the math and point out how many indy shows he could have run that could possibly make money and compare to the, what, 12 shows, he paid for.
Christ, how can Billy be so dumb about this?

Dixie Carter fucked everything up, not a surprise.
Will she go down as the dumbest person in wrestling? I can't think of anyone off hand who screwed up as much, as epicly, and as badly, all while never really gaining anything. It's truly remarkable.

GLOW wasn't exactly a high point in women's wrestling to begin with. It basically was a softcore, teenage boy's wet dream representation of women's wrestling. Only Vince Russo would watch GLOW and think "Y'know what the world needs? A more crass, vulgar, misogynistic version of GLOW. Yeah, that's the ticket."
That said, the most surprising thing is that Russo is willing to admit to this, years later. It didn't get off the ground. If I pitched this as a failed pilot, and no one was the wiser (since it didn't get made), I would not be telling people about this. That's the last thing I'd be doing.
Even by Ruso standards, this sounds hideous. Just when you think Russo can't get any sleazier, he brings out an even larger human centipede and proves you wrong. Amazing.
To be sorta fair, GLOOW is getting a revival...which will likely be nothing like what he proposed, but he was right about such products possibly finding a better audience in modern day.
Multiple people in the tv industry have talked about failed and terrible ideas they had. Russo has done far worse things that actually happened so this ain't much really.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to start a new operation rather than buying TNA?
Or invest in ROH if he wants to get into the wrestling business without the headache of a start up?
What's the definition of a money mark again? Did Corgan really just piss away all that money?
1 hour ago, Nice Guy Eddie said:I think Moose would get snatched up by the 'E.
It's so funny he left ROH to go to TNA and then this happens. WWE didn't want him because of some domestic issues and told him to try again in a year or so. I'm sure someone will want him if his schedule opens up.
-
So when do we get numbers for the bloodbath and do y'all think it will stick? I'm reminded of something Bobby said about how after looking at the real world wrestling looks dumb and I wonder if that will resonate with whatever audience would normally watch.

Brock is a special attraction. That's all he is, and that's all he should be used for. He's not a guy to book around. In a sense he's a throwback to the days of Brody and Abby. They never did jobs and never stayed around long enough to make it obvious.
That's a great point Wyld Samurai. If they had a specific storyline reason to bring out a guy like Brock he probably would be a lot more valuable for them.
