  1. Finally marathoned Arrow to get it off the DVR (I hadn't been keeping up since the Suicide Squad ep a few months ago).  Really dug season 2.  A little draggy in the middle, but the finishing run was outstanding.  Not the best show on tv, by any means, but it's damn fun and worlds better than Agents of Shield.

Realy looking forward to see where they go next season.  KIlling Moira and finding a purpose for Thea hopefully will eliminatyes the weakest part of the show.  Susannah Thompson is a great actress, but the Moira scenes were mostly ridiculous this season.

Hopefully, Thea doesn't return as the big bad.  Not sure I can suspend disbelief that much.

  2. Just to clarify, I didn't mean I was dropping the show.  I'm wayyyyy too addicted for that.  Nah, just going to try to binge watch it.  Buy the boxset when it comes out, watch 14-26 subbed, then buy boxset 2 and rewatch it dubbed.

Hogan had pyro in WCW also.

Who didn't have pyro in WCW? I think even the jobbers had pyro

They used to shoot off pyro off at the beginning of every hour.  Just random pyro.  There would be a 6 man Lucha match in the ring and the pyro would just start firing off.

WCW was allergic to money.  Might as well shoot off pyro.  What else would they do with it?  Sign another wrestler they wouldn't use, forget they signed him, and pay him for years.  Been there, done that.

Randy's elbow is so powerful....even the guy who didn't get hit with it sells!!!!!

Seismic shock.  Late 90's gassed-up Savage's elbow was so powerful, fans in the second row sold for the shock wave.

Someone needs to gif the diving elbows Savage killed people with when he returned to WCW with Gorgeous George in tow.  He was bloated and top heavy then and it looked like he was just killing people with the move (mostly cause he nearly was killing them.  *cough* Charles Robinson *cough cough*).  My least favorite Macho Man phase, but the move looked genuinely hurty.

Edit: Also crazy Flair elbow dropping his clothes will never get old.  The WWE Network would be over 1 million subscribers if they had a prime time programming block of nothing but Flair wrestling invisible people in his boxers.

  5. Attack on Titan reminds me why I don't often watch anime I don't own, or can at least stream the entire series.  Watching one ep a week doesn't work for me.  It looks like AoT begins a nine-parter next week.  Yeah, I'm out.  Eps 1-13 will be on sale from Amazon in a few weeks.  I guess I'll buy the box and maybe stream the rest subbed.

Great show so far.  Really enjoyed the first four eps.  I've read spoilers for a lot of the eps, so I know about the

    "rogue titan"

Not digging the idea, but we'll see how it plays out.

  6. You guys watch indy wrestling and some how that impresses you?

I'm not impressed.  In my day, we didn't have cars.  I had to walk five miles up a hill to see an indy show.  5 miles uphill BOTH WAYS - just to see a piledriver.  We didn' have any of those fancy flipping piledrivers.  Nosirreee.....

    Pfftttf.  Kids today.

  7. Did Sandman mean to throw that ladder or it that a botch?

At first, I thought he got caught in the ropes and let go of the ladder accidentally.  But, if that's the case, what was he trying to do?  Hurdle the ropes, ladder in hand?

In any case, I doubt the spot was supposed to be him nearly throwing the ladder into the first row.

What is that from anyways?  Extreme Reunion show?

At first glance, I thought Sandman was a pudgy Brian Christopher.

  8. Had to rewatch the finale again this morning.  Holy crap!  How'd I miss the "sniffing Freddie Lounds" bit.  Throws a completely different spin on things.  So Hannibal was planning to run away with Will and Abby?  Will might have gone for that.

Wish they had made Will's "They know" phone call to Hannibal a little less ambiguous,  A lot of people seem to think that, in that moment, he was Hannibal's man.  I took it as him trying to save Jack's life after he realized Jack would be going in alone without the FBI backup.  Warning Hannibal and causing him to run was the best way to try to save Jack from Hannibal.

A lot of odd speculation online.  Read a theory today that Gillian Anderson's character could actually be Misha (Hannibal's dead sister).  That seems like a reach, even for Fuller.

  9. Yeah, I don't think they're getting the rights to Clarice and Silence of the Lambs. Fuller's mentioned having discussions with them and the answer is always NO! NO! NO!. It seems they want to get their Clarice TV show (which has been rumoured for years) off the ground and aren't willing to budge.

He told an interesting story: Assuming the Clarice TV show does get made, MGM won't even be able to use Hannibal's name or even reference him. So Fuller was like, let us have Clarice and you can reference Hannibal all you want. But they wouldn't hear of it.

I'm not even sure how you can do a Clarice Starling TV show without being allowed to mention Hannibal, which is why I suspect the TV show is doomed even if they do ever make it.

I don't really see why they need the license.  If they do do Silence of the Lambs, it's going to be a greatly altered Silence due to all the changes in what's gone before.  Odds are they alter the storyline to the extent that using Clarice Starling will have a negligible impact.  Given the changes that Fuller's already made to the Hannibal timeline, I don't really see what "Clarice Starling" gets them that "Miriam Lass" wouldn't.

For that matter, if Fuller does a reasonably faithful treatment of Silence of the Lambs, Will is offstage entirely, and Hannibal is largely a supporting player.  I kinda doubt that Fuller would sideline Mads and Dancy that much, so I expect that whatever version of Silence he did do would be greatly changed anyways.  Which brings me back to wondering what Clarice Starling really adds to the show.

I kinda hope they don't really "do" Red Dragon or "Silence" or, if they do, they alter the story so much it might as well be original.  If they're going to do Silence, just substitute Will for Clarice.  The show mostly works for me when they're exploring Will and Hannibal's odd relationship.  I thought the early part of this season drug when Will was incarcerated and the interaction was limited.

  10. Well, that certainly didn't stop the Distinguished Competition.

True, but Marvel has more to lose.  I kinda think we never get nu52 DC if they're the number one company or at least closer to Marvel in sales across the board.  Nu52 was as much a sales gimmick as a creative one.  And it worked, for awhile.   Marvel is much stronger both creatively and in terms of sales.  They seem to have a more loyal fanbase, and are putting out a lot of good books, so they seem to be focused creatively.

Marvel is doing pretty well using the NOW gimmick to create jumping on points for new readers.  A hard reboot probably doesn't gain them much in sales (since sales are generally better than DC) and risks alienating readers a la DC.  I too though Hickman's run on Avengers might end with a hard reboot, but I don't really see them needing to try it right now.
