In fairness, Tanaka's hair did its best to puff up and even out the disparity.

For matt
Everyone needs to watch this. DDP"s AWA mullet is.... something.... even by the standards of ridiculous wrestling mullets.
Actually, the Diamond Doll that appears in that segment with Tanaka, Diamond, and DDP may have the worst hair of the lot,
And, DDP from '96 on was one of my favorites. Guy had an amazing run, considering he was a manager in AWA and his early WCW run was pretty dull (and. god, I hate that feud with Johnny B. Badd, where Badd left in the middle and the Booty Man replaced him. Ugh).

I did enjoy that "over my head" line.
But that scene does not instill in me a confidence in Batista's acting ability.
I didn't see that "Iron Fists" movie he was in.
The "Iron Fists" role really didn't require much acting (I don't remember if he even had lines). Batista's job was mostly to have the right look and carry through on the fight scenes the stunt choreographer laid out. Not to say he can't act, but the movie didn't really indicate much either way.

I stopped reading it when JDR left, honestly.
Yeah, I think a lot of people did. I wasn't familiar with Tom Taylor, so I ignored the book for several months, then did a lot of catchup at once. It's one of my favorite books lately, with both the art and writing clicking for me. I'm really digging the focus on Earth-2 versions of Supes/Bats/Red Tornado/etc. Taylor has managed to do a fresh take on both well-known Justice League characters and the JSA concept in general. I like Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, etc., but after Johns, it's really hard to do much fresh with those characters or the group.

Anyone reading Justice League Dark? How has it been since DeMatteis took over writing chores? I just caught up on Phantom Stranger and am digging it. DeMatteis might be my favorite comic book writer ever, but I'm a much bigger fan of his pre-Justice League work than post. When he tries to be funny, it generally falls flat for me. I love the JM who wrote Defenders, Moonshadow, the Dr. Fate mini, etc.
Also, does anyone else like Earth-2 more since Robinson left. A lot of people seem to think Earth-2 was a return to form for JDR, but I was kinda underwhelmed. It's been a really fun book of late (I do really like Robinson's FF book, fwiw).

I had to mull this one over for a sec. As noted, Andre was pretty well done by the time he started teaming with Haku. And I like John Tenta a lot.
Then I pictured Tugboat in his white pants and striped red tank top and my indecision was over. Besides, the Disasters weren't that big a deal.

Eddy/Chavo? I don't see the body of work.
Same here. They were a decent team handicapped by Chavo being one half of the team. Voted for Malenko/Benoit, even though I don't think they go fair either.
Edit: I was wondering why you ran with Malenko/Benoit instead of Dean/Joe. Holy crap! How did i not realize Joe is still alive? I thought he was deceased.

I voted Von Erichs, though part of me feels like I should have voted Briscoes. early 80's WCCW is one of my favorite things, though, so it's hard to vote against that.

Is Rycklon anybody I'd know (under a different name)?
-
I'm caught up on it but i'm not digging it. I probably wouldn't be still watching if On Demand didn't make it easy to keep with shows.
I too am expecting a ridiculous swerve by the end.

Hell yeah! At the moment I don't care that it's about the original team and that Andy Lanning isn't on board, at the moment I'm just happy Dan Abnett is writing a new GotG ongoing.
Best comic book news in a long time.
Yeah. great news. I like the Abnett/Lanning book quite a bit, but I probably prefer the original team from a character standpoint, Hopefully, Lanning doesn't turn out to be the talented half of the team.
Book needs Nikki though. No Nikki, no buys. Or maybe not.
Anything ever said about why Abnett & Lanning dissolved the partnership?

God, this thread is doing more to promote GFW as a real thing than Jarrett is.

Ventura used to give shout outs to "big fans" Terry, Tyrel and Jade on commentary all the time. Much younger me always wondered what they did to get mentioned on air.
Terry (Theresa) is his wife. Tyrel and Jade are his kids.

So am I the only one who actually liked the Simpson Brothers?
All this hate makes me sad.

Dusty looks truly horrifying in that gif. Like something (someone) Leatherface is going to be wearing while he stabs hapless teenagers (trying to have sex) to death in the next Texas Chainsaw sequel.

I had to vote for the TT. Young Chono is the weak link. If they had teamed a few years later, different story. EVIIILLLLL Chono's pleather plants always tips the scales for me in these debates. Hell, he doesn't even need a partner. Chono + black pleather pants > any tag team you can name.
Besides, One Man Gang and Bossman are two of my favorite big men.

I wonder if Jack will take any heat from the government for saying he had captured Margot and then just threw her out a window.
If anyone asks, Jack can just muttler "timey wimey" and forget about it. Works on Dr. Who

TNA should set up a 4 sided ring and a 6 sided ring for every show. Have the fans vote before each match to determine what ring the match will take place in. Sure lugging around 2 rings is a pain, and the idea is pretty stupid....BUT 2 rings will take up more space, hence less empty seats. Genius, innovative....TNA.
Great idea, and it will get massive heat when the four sided ring turns heel on the six sided ring.
It's a shame Hogan left the company. Six sided ring will never be able to get his win back from the loser leaves match it lost when Hogan came in.

Layla's bump was amazing. She flew like a fucking Valkyrie into that shit filled pool.
Layla turns 37 this week and she's still like one of the best looking divas ever. I also think she's one of the best performers the divas have ever had. I felt like they could've made a much bigger deal what she is. Sigh.
Best part of that pic is the "what the hell is she doing?" look on Steph and Vickie's faces.

There were only about 8 things I hated in that second trailer.
What's the eighth? (I assume the first seven are four turtles, Megan Fox, Shredder-terminator, and Michal Bay.)

Which will we see first: GFW's first show, or that Wrestling Retribution thingy?
Even if they never run a show, GFW's at least fulfilled merchandise orders.
Allegedly filled. Do you know anyone who has actually ordered and gotten their stuff>
I ordered a hat. All I keep getting are postcards showing Jeff walking across various continents and talking about his rambles, Weirdly, they're were all postmakred Memphis - even the ones mailed while he was in Europe.
Also, I'm much more bitter about Mage III than anything Kevin Smith has ever done/not done.

wasn't Andre on the French national team at some point, or am i getting that mixed up?
Getting it mixed up, I guess, Andre played soccer as a boy, but never played for the French national team.

Jesus holy hell OW!
I thought he fell off the ladder, then I realized the botch was the table not breaking. I think the planned spot had Kasi (I think that's Kasai) headbutting his way through the table and then headbutting the belt Kanemura is helpfully holding across his body.
Yeah....That's kinda a dumb idea.

I think that one was for " pure sports build "There were a few other framistans that always made me laugh. I remember when "jump the shark" was replaced with "sex with grandma" for a while. I also have no recollection what it was replacing, but there was a period where a ton of posts had "BOP SHE BOP SHE BOP" in them.
It was.
What was "humped your mom" a framistan for? I remember that one popping up a lot for awhile.

Is it just me, or does Stewart look old enough to be his father in those pics? I recognized him in the pic with Zeb. Would have had no idea who he was in the other two if I hadn't already known it was him.
