Starting to watch this season of Young Rock and while it is probably me this year  seems to be way more incorrect in wrestling timeline than season 1.  I mean the first thing they show is Soul Patrol winning the tag titles in 1985 against the Samoans.   I am not even sure the Samoans were in the WWF in 1985.   But again this show isn't' really for wrestling fans and it shows by putting more emphasis on the presidential campaign storyline which doesn't really interest me.   Other funny thing was how apparently Doug Flutie is a grumpy prick and Jeff Garcia is the relaxing cool guy.  Maybe that was the case in Calgary but talk about how different the perception is now.

My favorite part is Young Rock settling the score with "Julian" who I guess is this Qanon representative in the storyline as kids with a ladder match.  Yeah because I am sure in 1985 or 1986 kids were play wrestling with ladders.    At the time the people who could even think about that concept was in Calgary maybe

Still a fun show once you get to the actual Young Rock part of history.  Regardless of it's accuracy

Soul Patrol 100% beatthe SAmoans for the belts ending their third and final reign as tag champs. That is correct, but the switch was in 1983 so tht part is off

With "Young Rock" everyone needs to repeat to themselves "it's just a show, I should really just relax" when it comes to timeline, who was where, his grandmothers trial, and so on. There's points where the show is so bad it's good, like the actor playing Pat Patterson using 5 different accents each episode, but all the Randall Park stuff is cringe worthy.

I just wanted to double check, but Ackroyd and Donna Dixon just separated after 39 years of marriage.

She probably got tired of hearing about his vodka

More Wire alumni on We Own This City: Jermaine Crawford (Dukie) as a beat cop and Dominick Lombardozzi (Herc) as, fittingly, the police union head.

Apparently Jon Bernthal was trained in the Method in Russia (!). It's no wonder he's so good in the role -- perfect Balmore accent, constant shit-talking, and the occasional look of total fear over either what's happened or what is gonna. This episode was a little slow and developmental but next episode is gonna involve the Freddie Gray uprising so it looks to be a heavy hitter.

Seeing both Dukie and Marlo as cops is...weird.

So, I watched 1883 a little while back, and it was…pleasant. I mean, it was very stupid at times, but my dream is for somebody to pump a lot of money into a new LONESOME DOVE adaptation, so I settled for this and was mostly not disappointed.

However, that led me to make the mistake of watching season 1 of YELLOWSTONE.

An unbelievably inept show. Taylor Sheridan is basically Nic Pizzolatto without an MFA. Just all macho bullshit, all the time.

I can only assume this show became a hit because a certain portion of the SONS OF ANARCHY audience needed somewhere to go and MAYANS M.C. wasn’t white enough.

I am sick of the ads for this show.

Not a big Costner fan, and the bombarding of Yellowstone hype has me totally cold.

I guess I want to be clear about that last statement: I’m not saying the audiences for SOA and YELLOWSTONE are primarily racist.

I’m just saying that there is an unmistakable undercurrent of WHITE GUYS: FUCK YEAH! that runs through both shows, and if someone has been missing that post-SOA, YELLOWSTONE is ready, willing, and able to scratch that itch.

Barry continues to be fucking outstanding and the most compelling TV series on right now.

And I don't even know what Atlanta is supposed to be at this point.

Ok, it has to be said: When it comes to TV legends getting the band back together and returning to their old stomping grounds...WE OWN THIS CITY is no BETTER CALL SAUL.

Like, I wouldn’t call it a bad show, because there’s a certain baseline competence that Simon & Co. bring to tales of Baltimore police, but it is a profoundly weird show (TWO separate framing devices, some bizarro cast recycling, Jon Bernthal’s HAIR), and I don’t really get why it was this story that brought them back. I guess maybe HBO finally drew the line after years of jazz and porn and Phillip Roth and said they weren’t writing Simon another check unless it was for more Wire.

Fox still hasn't worked out the renewals for 911 or The Resident yet

Because of that - Fox actually didn't release a Fall Schedule to advertisers today instead they just went "Here are all our shows - fuck knows when they will air"
