INDY WRESTLING THREAD~

RIPPA

Recommended Posts

Completed the Bussy set by hugging Allie Katch. She was the surprise opponent for Jody Threat at the Winnipeg Pro show tonight.

WPW shows are always super fun. Crowd is hot for everything and the venue is great. It helps that they only run every 2-3 months, so there’s no burn out and it makes each show seem special.

Full card:

Champion AJ Sanchez d Marz the Specialist

Blair Onyx d Valentina Loca and Kat Von Heez

Red Hot Summer d Kyle Pro/Nat Nixon

Allie Katch d Jody Threat

Kevin O’Doyle d Moses the Deliverer and Marcus Muncherson

Bobby Schink d Chad Daniels, Tommy Lee Curtis, Nick Von Gavin and James Roth

Devon Monroe d Rylie Jackson

The next show is in September and they’ve already announced Bussy vs Threat and Josh Alexander

Results from the Wrestling Revolver show last night that I went to in front of a SOLD OUT crowd!

* Rich Swann def. Jordan Oliver
* Jessica Havok won a six-way scramble match over Nate Wings, Bille Starkz, Aiden Prince, Cole Radick and Tre' Lamar
* Madman Fulton def. Warhorse
* Trey Miguel def. Alex Shelley to retain the Revolver Remix Title. Shelley turned heel on Miguel after the match and Miguel challenged Shelley to a tag match on the next Dayton show on 8/21.
* Alex Colon def. Myron Reed in a Dayton Street Fight where they fought all over the building
* Steve Maclin & Westin Blake won a three-way match over Infared (Tyler Matrix & Logan James) and Manscout Jake Manning & Dan the Dad to retain the Revolver Tag Team Titles
* Sami Callihan def. Damian Chambers in a quick squash
* Crash Jaxson def. Larry D
* JT Dunn def. Jake Crist to retain the Revolver World Title. Ridiculously overbooked match with ref bumps and lots of nonsense and some weird angle at the end where Crist acted like he was retiring by removing his boots then cut a weird promo and turned heel on the fans. Callihan tried to cut him off but Crist went off on him too. Guessing this is leading to a Crist vs. Callihan match at some point? I don't know. It was just kind of confusing.
* Jon Moxley def. Speedball Mike Bailey in a fantastic match.

I don't really do star ratings but if I were to recommend anything from this show, check out Swann vs. Oliver and Moxley vs. Speedball

Revolver's next show is July 9 with Jon Moxley & Sami Callihan vs. Eddie Edwards & Davey Richards; Ruby Soho vs. Billie Starkz, Speedball Mike Bailey vs. 1 Called Manders and a "Cage of Horrors" Match with Rich Swann, Swerve Strickland & Matthew Palmer against JT Dunn, Tyler Matrix & Logan James

Return date to Dayton is 8/21 with Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) vs. The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Went (fka Nash Carter in WWE)). Also announced for the return to Dayton were Chris Bey and Ace Austin.

Turns out Ian Rotten is still Ian Rotten.  A few people have pulled out of the KOTDM and said they won't work with IWA-MS again, either in solidarity or because they are actively being fucked over by Ian.

I don't get the full details on this but from what I have seen I know two things:

1.  Find you a wife or girlfriend that is willing to fall on a sword over and over again like Ian's wife currently is.   Now maybe she was more responsible now than in the past because according to her Ian is damn near blind now.   But given that the vast vast majority of things claimed are stuff Ian was doing decades ago I don't know

2.  Talk about this being the final door on IWA Mid South as a promotion have never paid attention to IWA-MS.  There has been at least 2 or 3 times that I can remember when they were considered dead and came back 6-8 months later and ran for many years.  I would be stunned if Ian's isn't running a show sometime in 2022.

Watching the titles burn makes me wonder if Jim Fannin is still alive because if so then I am sure he is having flashbacks.   Also kind of curious what Jimmy Jacobs is thinking knowing that him throwing a title in a garbage can lead to a good 4 months of getting the piss beat out of him.

I’ve seen matches from IWA Mid South, primarily the free ones on their YouTube channel, but didn’t really know they were still doing stuff. I think they did a bit in 2020 and 2021 if I remember right but that was the last I heard of them.

In regards to Jake Crist, even though I didn’t like his match from this past weekend, I always thought he was the better of the two Crist brothers. He never came off anywhere near as irritating and annoying as his brother, either in the ring or outside of it.

Yoooooooooooo!

Negro Casas and Volador Jr both got pulled from the card due to "lucha politics" so boo to that.

Dralistico and Dragon Lee will be replacing them.

Seems CYN is dead.

We have WSE now anyways.

The updated card for WSE is on the Nottingham Arena website and looks nothing like the original card.

New card is:
* Alistair Overeem vs. Moose
* Lina Fanene (Nia Jax) vs. TBD
* Legion of Pain vs. BT Gunn & Kez Evans
* Steph deLander (Persia Pierotta) & Anastasia vs. She Wolves
* Samuray del Sol vs. Lince Dorado
* Dean Muhtadi (Mojo Rawley) vs. Damo Mackle
* Pre-show: Erick Young (probably not the Impact one) vs. Zac Zodiac
* Pre-show: Levis Valenzuela (No Way Jose) vs. Jody Fleisch

I know Moose was in the WWE training camps before. Some of the rest however are just indy people from the UK.

And that is the Impact Young.

This is XPW?

Just finishing watching this one. I had thought the whole show would just be this full one night tournament, did not realize it would instead be just 4 first round matches and a 4 way Ladder Final followed by deathmatch stuff afterwards with long clean up breaks in between. Solid enough show overall.

The initial 4 womens matches were all good and all felt different from one another. Kamille/Deonna best match overall, Ludark/Lindsay a fun brawl, and Sage always comes off like a star, love her matches. Figured it was between Kamille and Taya.

Results:

Spoiler

XPW Beautiful Disaster - June 25, 2022

*Rob Black opening promo hyping up XPW being back.

*Kamille def. Deonna Purrazzo (11:28) after the Spear.

*Ludark Shaitan def. Lindsay Snow (9:47) after putting her through a table.

*Sage Sin Supreme def. Chelsea Green (10:48) with a rollup after poison mist.

*Taya Valkyrie def. Steph de Lander (7:58) via submission

~Intermission~

*Sabu was honored with an XPW Legend plaque. Dirty Ron McDonald, who was "suspended", attacked Sabu and was then chased off through the crowd.

*Taya Valkyrie def. Kamille, Ludark Shaitan, & Sage Sin Supreme (10:39) in a Ladder Match to win the XPW Women's Championship after putting Sage & Ludark through a table while Kamille was abducted by Sam Shaw when the lights went out.

*Alex Colon def. Ciclope (13:53) with a rollup after a spanish fly through a pane of glass in a Deathmatch.

*Masada def. Miedo Extremo (17:07) after a cobra clutch suplex with skewers in his back in a Deathmatch. Prior to the match, Masada announced he was challenging XPW Champion Brian Cage next show on August 13.

*SHLAK(c) def. Big F'n Joe (25:16) after a diving elbowdrop through light tubes to retain the XPW King of the Deathmatch.

Billie Starks-Matt Demorest might be my favourite Billie performance ever. Billie absolutely carried an opponent that was clearly not in any kind of ring shape (Demorest retired 2 years ago after an injury, but came back for this because it was Billie's dream match). Demorest can still hit the movez, but Billie absolutely held his hand and kept the match going with some great selling. I don't know what his plans are, but if he gets some ring cardio going, Demorest kicking around again would be fun.

Billie is too fucking good for someone so young

Despite Negro Casas and Volador being pulled from the show because of "lucha politics" (as was mentioned in a previous post), the JCW show for next Sunday on the GCW YouTube channel still looks great!

* Konosuke Takeshita vs. Cole Radrick
* Dragon Lee & Dralistico vs. Gringo Loco & ASF
* Bussy (Allie Katch & Effy) vs. Delirious & Edith Surreal
* Billie Starkz vs. Nick Wayne
* Tony Deppen vs. Alec Price
* Masha Slamovich vs. Lindsay Snow vs. Janai Kai
* Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Axton Rai
* Plus ... a Bunkhouse Stampede!!

Meanwhile they have announced absolutely nothing for the GCW show that's happening the same day, except for this show graphic.

It seems clear that JCW will be the A-Show that day, but I wonder, if they'll put on an intentionally shitty show for IWTV.
