J.T.
A list of people who should fire their agents. Quote An Entertainment One and Sweetpea Entertainment production, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was directed and co-written by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. From the little that has been revealed of the movie’s plot, we know that, in good ol’ D&D fashion, a crew of adventurers is assembled in order to pull off a robbery. Starring as part of the main cast are Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Hugh Grant. Edited July 21, 2022 by J.T. Craig H
Vox Machina is the closest we're ever going to get to an honest to god good D&D thing on a screen. Scrap this project, bring in all the people behind Vox Machina and Joe Mangienello or however you spell his name, and let them run with a D&D movie. (BP)
Mulligan trailer for The Munsters that responds to the criticism of the first one by being almost exactly the same but with a bit of behind the scenes footage and different color grading to look less porny.
Craig H
This sound is STILL all fucked up. It sounds like it was shot on someone's camcorder without any boom mics. I shouldn't care, but damn, there are movies made for far less money with sound quality that's a million times better.

(BP)
I think he’s trying to present it like the project was always supposed to be a shitty low budget streaming movie and he signed on so at least a fan would be the one to screw it up. Not that there’s much to screw up; it’s wild how often they’ve unsuccessfully tried to reboot a one-note joke. Though I do have a soft spot for Munsters Today because it reminds me of staying up late and catching it in syndication.
Curt McGirt
So he wanted to do The Munsters for years but doesn't like how it turned out. Okay. Reminds me of him shitting on Lemmy from Motorhead and getting fired ten seconds later from MTV's reboot of Headbanger's Ball while his brother was sitting there looking at him like "what the fuck?" I hope this is the role of a lifetime (like he hadn't had one already) from Michael K. Williams. Edited July 21, 2022 by Curt McGirt

Rob, you might see how "the internet" "invented" a "rumor" that you were in control of this based on the fact that your name is plastered all over the trailer, you're listed as the director and sole writer, and your wife is one of the stars.

Mister TV
The original Munsters only worked due to Al Lewis and Fred Gwynne, there’s no way to replicate what those two did as those characters. All of these remakes and reboots always miss what make the thing they’re trying to redo great.

What I didn’t want was a d&d movie to take itself too seriously and capture some of the dumb stuff that happens in campaigns. This makes it look like they succeeded.

So many great DnD references, and Pine as the Bard is outstanding stuff. He 100% is getting a kill with Vicious Mockery.

J.T.
The CGI in that D&D movie trailer looks terrible but the story appears to have its heart in the right place. There is a possibility that it won't suck. Edited July 22, 2022 by J.T.
Technico Support
I have no idea what's up with The Munsters and it looks like shit, but I'll tell you Rob Zombie's commentary tracks for House of 1,000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects are both tremendous in their extremely human, exasperated, incredibly frank honesty about the process of movie making, dealing with studios, etc., and that's the tone I'm hearing reading that tweet. He often referred to the first film as "House of 1,000 Problems," btw. Edited July 22, 2022 by Technico Support

Craig H
Got together with friends from out of town and who still live here last night and we watched that D&D trailer again and came away really excited. I think what got our hopes up the most is that there are honest to god classes that are easy to make out and Chris Pine playing a Bard is some of the most brilliant casting ever. Like JT said, some of that CGI looks like PS2 level cinematics, but the rest looks like a lot of fun that I'm willing to give it a pass. Plus, this isn't coming out until next year so there's time to flesh out the CGI.
