One of two classic matches turned 25 this year, Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin at the 1996 Survivor Series. A ***** match. My runner up for 1996 MOTY. Bret Hart wore special gear for it, flames on the singlet with orange trim.

Christ -- if you really want somebody that deserves to be in AEW in AEW, it's her. You can shoot all your Garganos out from a cannon into space, they NEED a woman on her level in their promotion.

Does everyone forget she's injured and still doing physical therapy to restore strength in the arm she had in a full sling for 4 months??

One of two classic matches turned 25 this year, Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind at In Your House 10: Mind Games. A ***** match. My 1996 Match of the Year. One of my favourite matches ever.

I was at this show. Three things come to mind...

- The ECW Invasion. My 10 year old mind was blown.

- HBK/Mankind was awesome as hell.

- Some drunk guy purposely lighting his ZZ Top-esque beard on fire in my section during said match.

I prefer Bret vs Austin, but yeah, both matches were amazing and topped everything WCW did that year in ring.

WWF had the better Main Event Scene, WCW had the better underneath card. But yeah that Fall of 96 had some good stuff. I remember Austin had a match vs Shawn either before Mind Games or Buried Alive that was really good too. I wish Shawn and Mick had more matches. Him as Catctus would've been fun.

That Mind Games match probably did as much for Foley as Being in a Program with Taker did and that match wasn't even supposed to happen

I was at the Raw tapings the next night. Notable (?) for the actual debuts of Fake Razor and Diesel after weeks of Ross teasing them. That was also the show where Fonzie ran in, carrying a Sabu Fears Taz sign. There were a few more ECW guys in the stands, but I don’t think they made it on camera.

Sadly, this was the only time I got to see Barry Windham in person. He had a super lethargic match with HHH that was just a backdrop for the angle with Mr. Perfect.

Cool you got to see Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind from In Your House 10: Mind Games 1996 live. I was 11. It's one of those matches that I grew up on that has stayed with me. Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart at WrestleMania X, Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin at the 1996 Survivor Series, Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13 and Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell at In Your House 18: Badd Blood 1997 as well. All ***** matches. Love those.

DDP, and his new fiancee, Payge McMahon.

Did he propose as someone else’s wedding? If so that’s more tacky than his suit.

Congratulations to DDP and Payge.

Details:

DDP has tied the knot.

WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page married retired athlete Payge McMahon in a surprise ceremony on December 9, according to Page's Twitter account and a press release issued to Wrestling Inc.

"Yes, her name is now Payge Page," DDP tweeted.

Page explained that he and daughter Brittany planned the event and told McMahon that it would be a Christmas party, while telling the guests that it would be a wedding. Page then proposed to McMahon, she accepted, and the couple were married.

McMahon's website describes her as "an adventurer, journalist, yoga instructor and motivator. She is a 2X broken back survivor (six vertebrae), professional optimist and physical rehabilitation specialist." McMahon credits yoga with healing her back injuries.

Rob Van Dam, the former Big Cass and Enzo Amore, Marc Mero, the former Ice Train, Ace Austin and Eric Watts were among those in attendance.

DDP is a three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017, and received the Jason Sanderson Humanitarian Award from the Cauliflower Alley Club in 2015.

The full text of Page's press release:

"WWE Hall of Famer, Diamond Dallas Page, 65, surprised his girlfriend of two years, retired adventure athlete, Payge McMahon, 47 with a wedding on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Yes, DDP threw a surprise wedding!

Of course he did.

Page and his daughter, intuitive designer & luxury event planner, Brittany Page, organized the elaborate ruse.

They rented out the entire boutique hotel, The Dwell, in Chattanooga, TN. Created a false invitation to a ‘friend’s red and white Christmas themed party.’ Then invited a 115 of the couples’ closest friends and family to a very real ‘black and white’ wedding.

Coming in hot for the ‘party,’ McMahon wore a red backless evening gown. Page wore a white custom Hideoki Bespoke suit with matching fedora. The evening started with a surprise proposal amidst the couples’ family. Immediately followed by the reveal of their gathered friends and a fairytale ceremony… naturally, she said ‘yes.’

Among the guests, Court TV analyst, Julie Grant, country musician Justin Fabus, WWE HOF’er Rob Van Dam, wrestlers Katie Forbes, Harold ‘Ice Train’ Hogue, nZo, Big Cass, Ace Austin, Gia Miller, Eric Watts, Marc Mero, and Hollywood Yates.

After declaring, “You may kiss your bride, bro,” Dr. Asa Andrews, who performed the ceremony, introduced Mr. & Mrs. Dallas & Payge Page.

Yes, her name is now Payge Page."
