You know what, I really enjoyed that Malakai Black vs. Dante Martin match. That was just excellent. I unfortunately missed the trios match - but everything I saw on Twitter said it was great as well.

I am immediately worried about the outcome of the Hangman/Omega match based on the Title Eliminator brackets.

On the one hand, you’ve got the 2 year story with Omega and Hangman and it’s built up to this moment. On the other, you’ve got the new story of Danielson wanting to see who the best is between him and Omega. I know Danielson is the shiny new toy and a big star, but even he said the reaction last week was bigger than his pop or Punk. So, which way do you go? Or do they swerve and go with a heel Mox versus newly crowned champion Hangman?

I hope you're right. Bucks could afford to drop a fall and the Dark Order have been feeling extra jabroni lately.

Lolololol. The Bucks drop a fall? That would require a desire to help get anyone else in the tag division over. Like tonight. It wasn’t enough to go over on the Dark Order. They had to kill off Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy first. Then, when Jungle Boy came out for his shine, he was left only Cutler to get his shit in on. But y’all be sure to take me through the weekly leaps in logic y’all make to convince yourselves that all that no sell Outsider cosplay smarky bullshit is actually great. Really sullied what was otherwise a great show.

Yeah, Malakai Black is the darkhorse third great wrestler to come in.  This was like his answer to the two great matches 24 hours prior.  That's how you get a young guy over without putting him over.

The Lucha Bros/FTR match, on the other hand, was a wreck.  I loved the Dark Order match.  Bryan Danielson is fucking unreal.  I love how they are now booking the women as  Memphis studio wrestling.

Daniel Garcia has competitive matches with Darby, Mox, Punk. Wheeler Yuta gets run over by a truck to set up a second round Mox vs OC match.

Yeah, that sucked for Yuta and he should probably be handled a bit better than that.

Dear god. Danielson goes from the strikefest with Suzuki yesterday to the hurty-TORQUE fest with Fish. That finish looked GNARLY.

I mean, from a workrate perspective, within 24 hours he had the match with Suzuki and now Fish.

I was really impressed with Bobby Fish.  He fucking layed it in,  That was a fucking BattlARTS match.

While the SupaKliqElite took the W, I think the Dark Order really shined in that one. Loved the bucks running the ropes for the kiss adam cole spot, getting tripped, and the DO taking their spots. Cole had the best reaction. Thought for a second that the team finisher (one of the times where Knox's complete disregard of tag rules works against the Bucks) was going to be enough, but the Bucks broke up the pinfall. But still, I can see the Dark Order (and possibly Danielson, as I mentioned earlier) playing defense from the Elite shenanigans ala Sting with the Five Aces taking out Omega's support, giving Hangman the title, ending the long running storyline between Omega and Page, allowing Page to feud with Moxley (considering the end of the Casino match was Mox and Page, I can see that being his first feud), and Omega-Danielson 2, which doesn't need the belt to main event PPV. (Seriously, Iron Man, or 2/3 falls, 1 hour time limit. I wouldn't be surprised if they go 1-1 hour draw if that's the case.)

And Arn brings up the Dusty history. That gave me glee. ?

The only potential upside is that AEW announcers are nerds and pay attention to detail and there’s a shot he might get another match with Mox sometime next year. There’s a built in story now.

Really liking a potential Danielson vs. Archer or Kingston match in the second round, either should be fantastic. I feel like Luchas/Revival could have been handled better. I feel like if they went in as Super Ranas that's how they should have been announced after the match too, that and... having to defend the belts as Super Ranas going forward. Have this be like when 2.0 also wrestled as The Bad Boyz within the same company.

I'm psyched that it looks like we're finally getting Hangman knocking off Kenny but I'm really hoping someday we get Dutch Satan as AEW champion

Black vs Dante was pretty cool, way more than I was expecting. Martin is another guy who seems to be developing nicely with regular TV time.

I really wish I was more into Hangman Page, The Wrestler, because his character is strong and that was an awesome promo. I'm not someone who thinks they necessarily have to give him the belt because they've sunk a year into the arc, but I can get on board with it if that's what they do.

Which is what think they will do. Mox vs Dragon looks like the likely PPV finals, and I can see them having Dragon win and challenge Page to put him over strong in his first defence. Moxley has kind of been treading water lately due to the roster expansion and feels a bit wasted, they'd do well to pull the trigger on one of the big feuds he has there like against Cody or Punk.

Jungle Boy having some balls and coming out to kick the Elite's ass was great, he really seems to getting more confidence at doing the non in-ring stuff and it's great to see.

Andrade paying MJF to have his guys win the tag title made absolutely no sense. This Andrade vs Death Triangle is so dead, let's move him along to something else.

As much as I was underwhelmed by the Suzuki match, Danielson vs Fish ruled. They should try and get Fish into the ATT program if possible, he's a logical fit.

I loved the comedy of Arn burning things up in the backyard last week.  And Cody's attempt to save his tie.  This week I'm laughing and carrying on again.  I don't support a cinematic shift on Dynamite to where we can hear the inner workings of the wrestler's mind or in this case the tinnitus, but I couldn't help but enjoy myself throughout this show and that segment.  I so love that Cody is refusing to go heel.  Cody's had some duds, maybe this segment I enjoyed included, but I am fascinated to see how this all plays out.  Something tells me this segment did not turn him babyface for next week.

I have little doubt that Moxley's winning this tournament and challenging Hangman for the title.  There will be some nice wrestling bouts (see next week's Dustin v Danielson for example) from here to then.

Not much in AEW goes to waste.  So you might be on to something.  You would have thought Yuta had been booked in a Queens Crown match it was over so quick.

Missed the Malakai match because I got home late.  Bummed.

Waltzed in during the Lambert/IC promo battle.  Seemed good.

Since I know almost nothing about current Lucha (and I’m trying out this new vape pen).  I almost bought FTRs Conquistadors gimmick as legit.  Smooth move unmasking them right away as historically this shit gets dragged out for at least a few weeks.  Punk gets the “Saba Simba Award” for making the call before they did.  Si!

Got the sense that Bryan was looking to add an additional finisher to his move set using the ultra torque heel hook.  Might as well.  He even got a decent pop for it when he used it against Jericho in that NXT match a bazillion years ago.

Trying hard not to compare generations here, but i get a real Dean Malenko vibe from Bobby Fish with an added killer instinct that i love.

About last night...  i got memories of watching Samoa Joe vs Kenta Kobashi, watching Bryan Danielson and Minoru Suzuki, although Danielson and MiSo had a better intensity and environment.

Moxley has been hinting at going heel for awhile now, hes fed up with these new guys taking his spot.  he cripples orange cassidy, and cheats to escape american dragon (maybe with interference) and challenges hangman page.

Hows about cm punk and darby allin team up at full gear and face mjf and wardlow?

Love that we are getting some storylines going in the women's division. When Serena was talking, I kept hoping Shida would show up. And then Bam! It was on. Then Anna Jay tussles with Britt and Ruby gets a little revenge on Penelope and Bunny. This is what I've been waiting for since the inception of the division.

I'd go one further, and have a six man with Punk/Sting/Darby against MJF/Wardlow/Spears (with Spears naturally eating the pinfall/submission). And tonight still confirmed to me that even if in a company that now has Danielson and Punk, Hangman is the biggest star in the company. He's really good at blending some old school and new school style elements in the ring, and his current character is as relatable to 2021 wrestling fans as Austin was to late 90's fans.
