Just watched the Lucha Bros. entrance again. That was the most hyped shit I've ever seen. Holy shit. I still get goosebumps watching it.

it really felt like a home game for them too. They were regulars in AAW also. Crowd was electric for them and it carried through the whole match.  Amazing stuff.

@Jijii'd throw Dr. Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa "Lights Out" Match on your all-time AEW rankings list.

What’s next for MJF? Since he really hasn’t really wrestled more than 50 matches in the company, TK has a lot of options for that act, and not just with all the arriving talent. We haven’t seen him work a program with Darby, Orange Cassidy, Kenny Omega, PAC etc…

I'd like to see him take a break to get refreshed.

Let the hype of Punk and Cole and Bryan settle and then come back to make a statement somewhere.

A left field option would be rekindling his friendship with Cody to try and take down a mutual enemy in Malakai Black.

Imagine him running down and pushing Cody out of the way of the Black Mass.

He doesn't have to be Cody's BFF but turning them into this "on again, off again Bayley/Sasha" type duo could add some great layers.

When was the last time a WWE thread was this long?

As far as individual shows - WrestleMania 2019 is the only PPV that's gotten just as many pages, or more, since AEW started. The only other thread in the same timeframe (2019 to now) to get as many or more is the draft thread.

I am sure that this has mentioned in the last 20 some pages but a few other things:

1.  For people that was worried that Orange Cassidy was going down on the card he was very important to this PPV.  On the pre-show it sure did seem like they were building toward a hair vs hair match with Orange vs Jack Evans or maybe Matt Hardy.   Then in the women's title match one of the biggest stories was how animated Orange was toward Kris.  When he screamed at her to get up everyone around me were like "holy shit what is this".   They have already build something with Kris and Orange even on the indies so hopefully they do it on AEW as well

2.  Love Chavo doing the old southern "How did you know there was 4 flat tires" in trying to explain why PAC wasn't there.  Was a little ignored overall.   I wonder if Andrade will eventually beat up Chavo for sticking his nose into business.

It wasn't ignored. It just wasn't very well delivered. Also: Understanding Andrade without subtitles is really hard.

Which kills me that WWE managed to snipe Thea/Zelina when they did.

Her coming in to kick Chavo to the curb and do all of Andrade's talking would be perfect.

His English is not bad but he’s very insecure with his delivery. Im Spanish but live in the UK with my family and my parents are the same, they know how to speak but don’t articulate enough or just kinda say everything under their breath so it’s hard to understand.

I'd love to know how many WWE PPV threads we'd need to add up to get the same number of posts.

Massive credit to AEW again for nailing this show.

After Punks Rampage debut I worked out that you needed the threads for 5 weeks of Raw and Smackdown plus the Summerslam one just to equal the one Rampage episode, and that was only about 15 pages at the time.

Also good to see that Creed can still find work doing Paul Wight's new entrance music.

i don't think it took a whole lot to "snipe" Zelina by the way

Well they hired her back telling her she would be on the same show as her husband, and then swiftly released her husband, so maybe snipe is in the right word... Conned? Bamboozled?

Apologies if I've offended or misused the word 'snipe' here. I was meaning it in the term of a 'last minute bid or pitch'.

There were reports of her signing in May. Black was released in June.

If any more time had been given to her decision I'm not sure she would have gone back.

She definitely wouldn't. Black talked about it with Renee or Jericho I think that he wasn't exactly happy in WWE, but it was cool that he would still get to be with his wife and she was happy to be with him.

Then he got released and they were both pretty devastated for a little bit until he was like, no, we're going to be ok, this is good. Even still, there is definite saltiness there with luring her in and then releasing him.

Accidently posted my thoughts in the AEW Sep thread so here they are here as well.

This was the first live wrestling I've watched in a really long time and the first full non-NJPW show I've watched in 3 years and it was really so close to a perfect show. I'm really happy I made the choice to watch it and to do so live. AEW really made me a true fan of their product even before the end with Danielson's debut. The feel of the show was both fresh and familiar and it really felt like a return to big time US Pro-Wrestling (which AEW has probably been doing for a while but they knocked this out of the park when they knew there was going to be eyes on them).

I loved Miro-Kingston was a little unsure about the finish because it almost put the heat on the ref instead of Miro but I think they avoided that. It was such a nice hard-nosed slugfest. I hope that Eddie gets a rematch in NYC and wins the belt, I would love to see him get a big TV moment in his career.

Mox/Kojima was solid and I liked it, they worked well for their spot on the card too. Loved the surprise at the end with Suzuki showing up and the crowd singing along. I loved that a big US promotion PPV had the fans singing Kaze Ni Nare. AEW acknowledging and working with other promotions is really such a breath of fresh air and making other promotions being kayfabe on a similar level to them is really smart and works well in todays entertainment environment. They understand that most things are niche now, fans have a wide knowledge of the things they follow and dig deep and AEW leans into and that is smart.

Women's Title match may have been my match of the night, it wasn't perfect but they worked smart and at a good pace. Thought Statlander came out looking strong in defeat which can be tricky as a face when dealing with losing by submission to a character like Baker who is so over as a heel/tweener that the crowd loves her. The moment of emotion by Cassidy worked to strengthen the bond between Kris and Orange to the fans also.

The cage match was a spectacle and was really fun but I thought it was a little too over the top with stuff. I can see why people loved it and see it as a MOTYC but it drifted a bit into usual Bucks overkill for me but nicely they went with violence rather than flippy overkill. I enjoyed it and it's one of my favorite Bucks matches now and I loved the whole presentation of the Lucha Brothers and really liked the celebration at the end. Penta and Fenix where made true stars that night and my hats off to them and the Bucks for putting on the match that most new viewers will have engrained in their minds.

Casino battle royals are kind of a clunky format but that format did lend itself to allow for a quicker way to get a lot of people on the card and a chance to show a bit to the crowd. It was really hurt by the fact that only Rosa and Soho felt like possible winners and the emotion on Soho's face when winning was so genuine and real that it was another moment that was great.

MJF/Jericho as good, I've been rather down on Jericho for a few years and am not a huge MJF fan either but they did pretty good, some rough spots in there but they worked a good match that was a bit booked into a corner about what to do. In most cases I think you'd want MJF the young heel to go over the aging legend and end the fued on top(I know he had already tapped Jericho out and was a victim of his own hubris to take this match) to help boost him up but with the retirement stip Jericho had to win. I think they did a good job of making it so that MJF was his own undoing with the back damage he took from the powerbomb on the apron (which he put himself into position for) and his powerbomb off the top that he sold really well.

CM Punk/Darby was the reason I was there and they did a really good match. I think Punk chose to work smart and a bit slow and didn't want to try to steal the show since he was coming back maybe a bit rusty, and that he seems to want to be in the role of helping boost the young stars up even when he's not on screen. I was surprised he didn't bust out the double arm back breaker just so the crowd could yell Welcome to Chicago Mother Fucker.

Paul Wight looks a bit in bad shape mobility wise and with the amount of surgeries he's had he maybe should stay out of the ring, but as a cool down moment with some goofy heels it was a fine segment.

Omega/Christian was great but it suffered from being at the end of an emotional show and not really having any suspense because Christian doesn't feel like the guy to un-thrown Omega as the AEW guy. The fake out with Cole was good and Danielson's debut was electric. I probably won't be watching their shows week-in and week-out but I'll very likely be watching Full Gear in November.

Ruby’s debut was hands down my favorite. She had no idea what kind of reaction she was going to get, and she is beaming. It made me think about how many people in WWE connect with the audience and never know it because the company’s disengagement from and contempt for its fans kills a lot of the positive feedback they’d get otherwise. It made me realize why I’d finally stopped paying attention to WWE entirely. I’d been conditioned to not invest emotionally in anything that I enjoyed because booking felt so arbitrary and sometimes malicious, while at the same time expected to have an emotional reaction to the stuff I hated so it would stoke online engagement. I had to be single for a while so that when AEW came into my life I’d be ready and able to understand what a healthy relationship looks like. I’m going to stop now before I drive this analogy farther off the rails.

Her facial expressions were amazing, she was doing those movements with her mouth where she was trying NOT to smile and look cool but it was physically impossible to hide, it was precious.

My wife and I got very teary eyed for not only Ruby coming out, but winning the damn thing. I have a ton of pride for my hometown and the cool people that come from it. She's always making us proud.

As far as Jungle Boy not knowing who Urkel was, Ethan Page was on his vlog saying he was in a car with Hook and Top Flight, and none of them recognised the name Al Bundy.

Jungle Boy not understanding 80s and 90s references seems to become a running gag:
