I said this before in the thread that Savage on commentary is a guy getting his character over rather than the matches, I feel a better use would would be going into the 90's putting over the Next Generation guys

I found DDP's burner account.  He's always credited Savage for being the reason he ascended to the main event.  Savage had a lot left to give when Vince put him on the bench.  I'm sure he could have had some bangers with Bret, Owen, Michaels, Razor, and the rest of the "New Generation" if given a chance.

And DDP fairly definitively lost that feud, too. 

Actually, speaking of DDP, my hot take is that he was unfairly lumped in with Hogan, Nash, etc. for being over forty and tired by a lot of the online types. Truthfully, he was young TV-wise and was the only over-forty in the company  other than Sting who could still work a dynamic main event. 

They should have run with him as long-term heel champ in 1999.
