NintendoLogic
For a complete change of pace, here's Kobashi working a thoroughly Americanized title match and bloodying up that weasel Ogawa. My second-favorite GHC title match behind Kobashi/Takayama.

True MOTDC in an absolutely loaded decade where so much more wrestling had become widely available. Perfect chemistry between all 4 guys as the match smoothly drifts between "plucky upstarts trying to make a name on the big stage," "surly veterans battling for pride following their epic singles match," and the best parts: "surly vets getting irritated when the upstarts try to cut in on their time." Super hot crowd for a NOAH show too.

Kenta Kobashi/Go Shiosaki vs. Kensuke Sasaki/Katsuhiko Nakajima was my 2005 MOTY and that was a deep year. Veteran vs. Veteran. Rookie vs. Rookie and Veteran vs. Rookie. A ***** match. I have it as the best match in NOAH history and it sits just outside my top ten Greatest Matches of All Time.
Control
Who has had a better in-ring year than Kenta Kobashi’s 1993? Meltz has him down for five 5-star matches (just based on a perusal of Cagematch’s match guide). 4/14/1993 Kenta Kobashi vs. Toshiaki Kawada 7/3/1993 Akira Taue, Toshiaki Kawada & Yoshinari Ogawa vs. Jun Akiyama, Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa 7/29/1993 Kenta Kobashi vs. Stan Hansen 8/13/1993 Kenta Kobashi vs. Steve Williams 12/3/1993 Akira Taue & Toshiaki Kawada vs. Kenta Kobashi & Mitsuharu Misawa Lotta other matches to consider too.
The Natural
Good question. Off the top of my head: Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat in 1989. Bret Hart in 1997. Kenta Kobashi in 2004 and 2005. Samoa Joe in 2005. AJ Styles in 2005. Bryan Danielson in 2006. Daniel Bryan in 2013. Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada 2012-2013. AJ Styles in 2016. Kazuchika Okada and Kenny Omega in 2017.
