Impact Wrestling - 1/26/21

Recommended Posts

Fun opening segment setting up the main event. Cool to see Trey back already, surprised but glad he's decided to stay and a nice win in addition. Not a ton else in ring wise but felt like a lot going on all around the show with different storylines progressing. Tony K always amusing in the AEW paid ad. I'm glad Jazz has stuck around, the setup for Susan/Jordynne was great. Solid overall show.

Impact Wrestling - January 26, 2021

*Impact World Champ Rich Swann opened the show with a promo. Swann talked about having all the targets on his back as champion. Swann then invited Tommy Dreamer to the ring. Swann put over Dreamer and mentioned that February 13 is Tommy Dreamer's 50th birthday which is the date of the next Impact+ special, No Surrender. Swann wanted to defend his championship against Dreamer on that night. Sami Callihan interrupted, arguing that he's the heart and soul of the company so he deserves a shot at the title. Chris Bey interrupted and said February 13 is also his birthday, so he should get the shot at the title. Moose interrupted and said they are all too scared to challenge for his TNA title. Moose points out that Swann has never beaten him and brings up Swann promising him a title shot to save Willie Mack. Swann said he gave Moose his opportunity last week but he wanted to do it on his time. Swann said he's beaten Sami and Bey but the match with Dreamer is already set as they are on his time. A brawl then broke out with Callihan, Bey, and Moose against Swann & Dreamer until Willie Mack made the save to clear the ring. Sami hit the lights, leading to Ken Shamrock appearing in the ring to help take out Swann, Dreamer, and Mack setting up an eight man tag with a mystery partner.

*Josh Alexander & Matt Cardona def. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton (10:13) when Cardona pinned Fulton after Radio Silence

*Brian Myers def. Eddie Edwards (6:18) via DQ when Eddie attacked Myers' eye, refusing to break at the ref's count of 5, and biting Myers until he bled.

*Rosemary (w/ Crazzy Steve) def. Tenille Dashwood (w/ Kaleb Konley) (5:01) with the As Above So Below.

*Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz hosted their Fire N Flava Fest to celebrate their knockouts tag championships victory. John E Bravo, Alisha Edwards, Johnny Swinger, and referee Brandon Tolle were the only ones who attended and complained about everything. Nevaeh and Havok ended up interrupting and attacking the champs.

*Joe Doering (w/ Eric Young & Deaner) def. Cousin Jake (3:15) after the Lariat. After the match, they attacked Jake. Doering planned to smash Jake's ankle in a chair but Young stopped him and said he's paid his debt this week. Young then dropped a Violent by Design towel on Jake as they exit the ring.

*Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Tommy Dreamer, & Trey Miguel def. Sami Callihan, Ken Shamrock, Moose, & Chris Bey (12:30) when Trey pinned Callihan with a hurricarana. After the match, Shamrock attacked the referee.
