twiztor Posted April 17 Posted April 17 my wife is determined to see Iggy Pop before he's done touring. He hasn't had an American tour in a few years, and his only dates this year are for big festivals or one random date with My Chemical Romance at Comerica Park. I don't especially want to drive (~8 hours) or fly ($$$) to Detroit for this show, so i'm making this post to will a smaller and/or nearer date into existence. 1
Curt McGirt Posted April 17 Posted April 17 See 'em while you got the chance, trust me. I missed Lemmy, I missed Mark the Shark, I missed fucking Eddie Guerrero. It's not worth regretting it. 1

Cobra Commander Posted April 29 Posted April 29 (edited) I guess it's a sign how things have changed to release 4 different singles from an album a month before it's released. Used to be more of a "lead single, album released, and then 2 more singles, maybe a 4th if you're lucky" industry back when albums mattered more "Cool Buzz" by Violet Grohl really giving off "song that gets a video on 120 Minutes" vibes (I've already mentioned how she mentioned The Breeders and PJ Harvey as musical influences, so it all makes sense) And yes, you are a million years old when the 20yo daughter of Dave Grohl is doing mid-90s alternative music in 2026 two extra notes: 1) there's a new Foo Fighters album out, and I don't remember anything about the "Your Favorite Toy" track despite having heard it a few times. It feels like there's been a bit of a lull for catchy Foo Fighters songs. Which sucks for Dave because he has illegitimate children to support now. 2) I think Nepobaby is more of an acting industry term than music industry term, but I think it should be used more for the people who got into an industry through connections who aren't good. I think the Violet Grohl tracks are actually good no matter how much she could have benefitted from being Dave Grohl's daughter. Edited April 29 by Cobra Commander
Casey Posted April 29 Posted April 29 look I hate the music Boyz Noize make, but Nine Inch Noize is actually fucking awesome because it brings back Mariqueen into the NIN world. My heart would go haywire at a concert these days, so I'm grateful it's all on YouTube - Trent's stage show is still unmatched, IMO. I will say, though, I don't understand the inclusion of Closer because it's just the same song as always. Other things (Heresy, for example) are COMPLETELY different and are better for it. Now Trent needs to get back into the studio with a second How to Destroy Angels album, pronto.

Curt McGirt Posted Wednesday at 09:27 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:27 PM I know a tenured professor with a dissociative disorder Sadly, this makes me think of DEAN and how he'd probably stitch together his own Sad Dad profile out of those *sigh*
Zimbra Posted Friday at 09:19 PM Posted Friday at 09:19 PM Weirdest thing of the week: One of our friends is the comms director for the local humane society, which is currently in the process of taking like 1500 beagles from a puppy mill that supplied research labs, so she got to give a press conference with Debbie Gibson and Geezer Butler about it. 1
odessasteps Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM I was listening to an ELO shuffle on YT and this came up, which still puts a smile on my face, despite its silliness.
