Every time I see those ceremonial first pitches in Japan I picture the batter accidentally taking a good cut and rocketing one off the pitcher's head.

If you watch the NPB games on Dingo, they show all the pregame stuff including the ceremonial first pitches.  So many Japanese salarymen wearing a jersey over their dress shirt and tie.

I was watching today’s Giants/Swallows game (Children’s day in the egg dome) and Yakult have former MLBer Domingo Santana on the team, but the Giants announcer (via subtitles) only ever called him Santana, never used his first name.
