With his suspension over (it ended when the World Series ended), AJ Hinch has interviewed for the Tigers job and is considered the favorite

Apparently the White Sox liked him, too - they put his signature on their graphic welcoming Tony LaRussa to the fold.

MLB owners have officially approved the transfer of power from Peter Angelos to his son John

John Angelos officially is the primary owner of the Orioles now. Peter remains the majority owner but he is 91 and in poor health

Is the son the same as his dad or is this a Rocky Wirtz situation where the culture will immediately change around the team?

Nothing really much is known since his Dad was so prominent for so long

The one thing that seems certain is that the team will stay in Baltimore

There was a threat of the Orioles moving?

No... however that immediately becomes the question when ownership changes.

I think Baltimore folks were/are worried that since Peter no longer is in charge his kids will explore selling the team. And then when you sell, everyone immediately panics about moving the team. Plus the Baltimore Sun reported that as soon as the news broke, three different groups popped up being all WE WILL BUY IF YOU ARE SELLING!!!!

In this case - even if the family wanted to sell, they basically have to wait till Peter passes because of the huge estate tax losses they would take if they did.

So yeah - John was asked previously as he started being more involved if he was going to move the team and his quote was something like "the Os will be in Baltimore as long as Fort McHenry is in the Inner Harbor"

Yes this is a Bob Nightengale report but it also isn't surprising if you have been following the last couple of years.

The Indians have informed teams that they intend to trade Francisco Lindor before opening day.

Yes they are absolutely selling low on him

And per Jon Heyman - the Sox are bringing Alex Cora

So just the reminder that everyone will only be outraged long enough until folks get distracted by something else
