My Madden pass play of choice is the goal line 3 TE formation, then running a play action with two of them heading right. Even if they are both covered (and 4 times out of 5 one of them is open enough) you can usually get a 1 yard QB run for the TD.

 

But if you try it and it fails, even in Madden the right answer next down is "run forward".
