hammerva
In catching up on NXT for the last months, I really the Cameron Grimes character. I said the character by the way because Grimes/Trevor Lee is a damn good wrestler. I mean does Vince or Bruce or whoever is booking NXT now think that people from North Carolina are completely hicks It is a gimmick with no future what so ever. I don’t think it’s specific to NC because there are (or were) so many people from NC especially Charlotte/“The Queen City.” Cedric, Truth, and Charlotte aren’t portrayed as hicks, and the Revival weren’t really either. (Probably can’t claim Edge yet, even though he’s been in Asheville for a while and has the grizzled mountain man look down.) Grimes sounds like a hick though (and like what Vince wanted Brody to sound like, most likely). I also think it’s likely Vince and probably Bruce have had very little input on most NXT gimmicks. Dolfan in NYC
Leon Ruff has been signed by NXT. He was a ball of personality in the EVOLVE show I saw so, good for him.

Grimes and Ever-Rise would be the ultimate heels, etc. Edited August 3, 2020 by turk128
AxB
Apparently they signed Retrosexual Anthony Greene as well. Ever-Rise are very lucky Russo isn't there and Vince is still in the PG mindset. With a team name like that, they'd be given a Viagra gimmick in seconds in the Attitude Era.

The Natural
Metallica fan here (I'm wearing my Metallica hoodie right now) so I'm for this news.
NikoBaltimore
I wholeheartedly approve using Metallica for their theme. And it's a killer song to boot, especially while doing cardio. I love how they've used their songs over the years but just wish that licensing wasn't so expensive that they had to re-dub their songs on the Network. Casey
NXT is being preempted for the NHL playoffs on 9/2. They'll run on that Tuesday instead. Interesting that NXT aired unopposed on their Takeover go-home show last night, and now AEW will air unopposed on their go-home show for All Out. paintedbynumbers
guess Rovert was right about Mauro after all.
NikoBaltimore
So they have the details on the Observer site and it actually seems like a good split with Mauro talking about it. He talked about the things he's set to do and was happy achieving his childhood dream. https://www.f4wonline.com/wwe-news/mauro-ranallo-and-wwe-parting-ways-319016 I know why people didn't like his announcing most of the time but I liked it. But I really love the guy and with all he went through I just hope whatever is next that he's happy.
Eivion
Was never a big fan of his commentary so I won't miss him much, but at least the split was amicable this time.
