Ramo2653 Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Knocked out the Rhea birthday events like 30 minutes before it ended. For all the griping people made about it online, I did it in 4 tries. Most of these come down to if you can pull off enough reversals or not. Of course I got nothing worthwhile from the card packs. 1

I got nothing either, two of the three character cards I got were dupes. I DID get enough tokens to finish out the Amethyst tier. I could, conceivably, get enough to buy Ivy and beat her for 150 more (and a second Diamond) before that event closes tomorrow morning but I don't know if I want to grind out 19 easy World Tour matches to get to 150. (There's basically no chance that I manage to actually get 19 new victories between Vegas/Denver/Atlanta, all of which I only did the first tier of)
blitzkrieg Posted October 18 Posted October 18 The Live Event to get Galaxy Opal Brock Lesnar was surprisingly easy. I expected a hud-less match against Brock with 3 finishers and a sig to start would be more of a headache than it was.
tbarrie Posted October 26 Posted October 26 So WWE 2K24 has been out for a year and half now - has anybody figured out what all the icons that can appear over the HUD mean? I tried googling for a guide but all I could find was people asking what one or two specific icons were. (And most of the answers seemed to be just guesses.) Some are pretty obvious, like the ones that show an injury to a body part, but some are completely obscure to me, like the blue shield or blue burst symbol. I'm playing in Universe mode if that matters, but I wouldn't think it would affect the game mechanics of a match.
Ramo2653 Posted October 26 Posted October 26 There isn't a list because they don't really matter that much overall, but if you look at the badges for the cards in MyFaction it will explain it a bit. They're all temporary boosts of some sort, either increased recovery rate (aka getting up from being downed), taking less damage, increased signature bar gain, etc. There's no way to see what wrestlers have these assigned in the other modes for some reason. Also they're not as relevant in non MyFaction modes. 1

Thanks, but is there a list of those somewhere? I didn't have any more luck googling that than I did the status icons themselves. And yeah, I imagine they're mostly fairly minor advantages or disadvantages, but it's annoying having incomprehensible gibberish on my screen. And some of them could matter. For example, the red "X" on a non-legal tag partner meaning they can't currently come in to break up a pin or submission is fairly important. There might be others.
Cliff Hanger Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) I know the red body part icons (which pop up when you have that part red on the mannequin display and then keep targeting it) mean that they take more vitality damage when you target it further, but tbh by that point they're usually hanging on. Annoyingly, both taunt boosts show up as a blue plus sign; right taunt is increased finisher meter and left is signature. Making a Hot Tag gives you a plus sign but I'm not sure which. 2k25 finally added a glossary that explains which buff goes with which badge (e.g., "Always See It Coming" causes you to get sig meter when you counter) but you still have to look at the corner box to see which badge got triggered because the icons are incomprehensible. If it helps, outside of MyFaction (and The Island in 25) I'm pretty sure the only ones you will ever see are the red body parts, the blue plus signs and the "no saves" red X. Beyond that, I don't think the 25 Badge Glossary is anywhere online so your best bet is to check the cards you're using in Faction (go to the Faction change tab, pick a card you're using and hit the L/R bumpers to get to the screen with badges) and read what ones the card has. The icons will still be incomprehensible on their own but you can use that plus the badge activation notices to learn them. Edited to Add: fuck that CM Punk birthday mission in the eye with a horse. Time to get really good at GTS counter timing. Edited October 26 by Cliff Hanger

I mentioned a while back how just accidentally clicking on "Faction" was a moderately annoying experience. (It started giving me a series of options but provided no context to explain what the fuck I was choosing, and there was no way to back out. I eventually had to quit the game from the XBox menu and restart it.) I'm not strongly inclined to go in voluntarily.

IMO the only critical ones are the tag-team x icon and the red hexagon with the horizonal lines. The red hexagon icon is from hitting a super finisher indicates you can't use your Paybacks which includes the Resiliency one which allows you to kick out of anything once per match. 1
Cliff Hanger Posted November 1 Posted November 1 This month's Smash and Stash appears to be a troll job: the top reward is 3000 points, there are no card packs, and it's a Backstage Brawl with a bronze-tier jobber, so you have to use a lower-level card or you'll never get 90 points before the victim dies. Not having any way to know what the opponent would be, I went in with a Diamond Mr. Chase and two light punches put the poor bastard into Danger state. 1

I laughed when I accidently won the match with light punches when they were on "Danger." Been a bit bummed with the Live Event rewards after the Sinister II rewards were so good. 1
Cliff Hanger Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Anyone else get a bunch of set completion awards they didn't actually qualify for on checking Faction mode today? I got, like, 12 cards, 30k in points and 500-ish tokens I am afraid to spend til I know what's going on. (I've seen people talk about getting bugged rewards out of the blue months after qualifying, but I have literally one out of five required cards for a couple of them.)
Ramo2653 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I didn't get anything when I logged in this morning to try to finish off the LA Knight birthday event (of course the deadline changed from 11AM CST to 10AM CST now so I was late) but I just logged back in and got a Galaxy Opal Drew card.

Just did the 5 reversals, got the arms and legs to red, hit the taunts and hit the piledriver signature. 2
DreamBroken Posted November 6 Posted November 6 the final 2k25 DLC pack drops next week: Jesse Ventura, Paul Orndorff, Tito Santana, Junkyard Dog, & Sid Justice Huge pop that they actually put in Orndorff's super rare 1985 theme "I'm a Fighter" by Van Zant! 1

I was hoping for that horrible WCW theme. I get that it's the wrong era for the character though. Stoked to give Sid a major push. Everyone else will probably slightly languish in my IC division (which is actually pretty good, but still). Edited November 6 by Tromatagon 3

If you got the MyCollection Reward Opal Drew, that is an INCREDIBLY lucky glitch, way more than me being excited for free Alexa Bliss 25 and N64 Kurt persona cards. He's an Oddity set reward that requires you to run the table on Numbers Game events, then take the 6 reward cards into two matches (one for the 4 men and one for the 2 women) to get kilt and claymore Oddity cards. He's also your ticket to an event that hasn't started yet that will reward the 2010 McIntyre card. Good luck on that match, I won't be getting the last two Numbers Game sets anytime soon.
Ramo2653 Posted November 8 Posted November 8 (edited) Yeah the MyFaction subreddit is going crazy about who got what from that that glitch. I ran out of card luck so I can't get the cards for the last 2 numbers games events too. I didn't check to see what you can get for the duplicate numbers cards though so I might do the encores just for the extra MFP. The stats on that 2010 Drew don't look that much better compared to a Opal, just more badges. Gotta say I'm a little bored with the mode this year overall. I need to give the Island mode a shot one of these days. *Edit* Played a little bit since I'm trying to avoid cleaning out the garage. The duplicate numbers cards are 1500 MFP. I also did the event for the 2010 Drew, wasn't too bad since it wasn't a reversal fest but I did go for the count out win. I also did the first Bianca birthday event and the reversals on the finisher were tough but I did get good timing on a kickout after one of the powerbombs so I was able to win in 2 attempts. Doragon Posted November 14 Posted November 14 I've been using Dean Ambrose and Zack Ryder as jobbers in WWE 2K14. So fun.
Tromatagon Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Man, I spoke about Orndorff and wrong themes and all that, but Sid Justice actually has the WRONG THEME. I wanted it for the menus. At least Tito's dope theme can be menu music. Edited November 14 by Tromatagon 1

Someone (can't remember who) said Sid's theme is the copyright-safe music they overdub Sid's WCW theme with on streaming releases. Which seems bizarre since they don't have to overdub the Sid Justice song. Random other thought: Y'know, as much as I dislike 2020s Jericho, it's too bad that he's jumping too late to be anything other than DLC. There aren't that many people left who could sustain a Showcase mode who haven't gotten one, but he could.
Ramo2653 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 I'd love an Austin Showcase mode if it included some of the Texas stuff since they have the rights. But even if they started in WCW that would be cool. Or maybe one of the women but I doubt WWE would want to bring up some of the terrible angles they've had their women over the years.
