aaaand it’s been confirmed that CC is split between generations. Most of the good creators are on PC, so PS5 and Series X will miss out on stuff from people like WhatsTheStatus.

They really thought the PC creators would mod in and upload any of that garbage from the Island, lmaooooo. Nobody wants that shit

EDIT: WTS said today that he’ll be on both gen versions of the game. That dude is insane, spending like well over $120 for two copies.

Yeah, the Full "Everything plus all the DLC" editions are $130 a pop on whatever platform you buy it on, (and for PC, whatever Storefront).  Like, I'm ok with skipping but I know at some point my son is going to want it and I'm going to have to drop the $130 on the Bloodline Edition (even AFTER I dropped $70 on the Basic Edition of The Show, because I only care about Franchise Mode and RTTS, so I don't give a fuck about DD stuff)

I don't know about Xbox, but on PSN the maxed out edition has been half price in the Summer Sale (July-Aug) 3 years in a row, so if you can get him to be patient ("this way when you get it you'll have 10 extra characters and the Wrestlemania 41 arena without having to wait") that's almost certainly an option again this year.

So with this week's "ringside report" and IGN and 2k's pet youtubers dishing on MyRise this week, I withdraw my earlier complaint about the "unified" story. You will be choosing whether to compete primarily in the Men's or Women's division and MOSTLY fight your own side, but instead of having whole separate stories that barely interact with one another, you'll be seeing the NXT Mutiny story from different angles. That is a lot more acceptable than the original bullet points made it sound. You're also going to have 3 personality choices (bold, comedic or scheming) for each and it sounds like you will have to play each gender division more than once to get all the unlockable arenas, alternate versions of chars, etc.

I haven't watched or read anything, but the WWEGames subreddit says something about NG+ for MyRise, and that's the only way you can do the Rhea and Cody stories I guess? At least they're making it replayable with all these options, but I've NEVER gotten through an entire MyRise or career mode when that was a thing. Maybe this year is different.

I'm still torn on what version to buy, though. I don't know if I want to do PC, or PS5. I'm morbidly curious about the Island, but I just don't know. I've heard it compared to the Park for the NBA games, and those are apparently PVP and filled with microtransactions. Ehhhhh...

They've also shown off a few My Rise unlocks: Demon Finn Balor with a super long entrance, DDP 2025 to reflect his current look, and a new "Grapple Legends" indie arena, complete with merch tables and little more like the Not Korakuen arena than the prior indie arenas.

I finally don't have to search for a somewhat generic indie arena on CC, I can just focus on the wrestlers. This is totally becoming my "washed up legends post-WWF/WCW/whatever" Universe mode, alongside an AEW save that I'll never actually play because it takes forever to set up.

I forgot to mention this recently, but Chugs was streaming one of the console previews (I think the PS State of Play) when they started showing the WWE 2K25 and i was curious to see if he would no sell it or just how would he react.  I think it was a generic “that looks good” and didnt’ say anything else.

With the DLC teaser videos we have absolute confirmation of Vaquer, Giulia, MCMG, Nakano and Penta, something that sure AF looks like Jordynne, and hopefully only one of KSI or ISS. There's also an image of a chainlink fence post with a lock, a black bandana, an ECW sticker and a blue Pac-Man which i have no idea what they mean.

ETA: we've got Hendry sign! After I posted this i saw that someone on Reddit found a much more obvious Joe Hendry shirt in the NXT Arena picture with the Jordynne Grace and Penta clues, in addition to a more ambiguous one I'd seen pointed out with "maybe?"

TBH I find Hendry incredibly charming as a personality but he doesn't excite me in the ring. I was excited at the idea because (a) it'd be a cool "THE LINE IS CROSSED" moment and because his entrance would he fun to do in random arenas with the new camera options.

 

God I wish you weren't likely right about Travis Scott being one of the celebs but that's a me problem.

New Jack is finally in a game.  If I can't have him jump off the top of the Mania set and put Hogan through a Table while even an approximation of "Natural Born Killaz" is playing, what is even the point of this game.
