Tromatagon Posted March 31 Posted March 31 You ever play Virtual Pro Wrestling 2? It has the coolest unlock system of any game I've played, and there's tons of stuff to get.
Raziel Posted March 31 Posted March 31 My first run through VPW2 I was using Kobashi (with Akiyama as my tag partner), and I was on a roll until I got to the bonus match... Against Andre and Brody.
Tromatagon Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I'm pretty sure I wrapped the unholy demon army my first playthrough.

I played about half a year of the calendar mode as Mike Awesome (RADIATOR was his Firepro-style non-infringement name since only the AJPW folks had licensed ones) but N64 emulation wasn't totally up to snuff at that point and it's been so long, I don't remember the unlock system at all. 1
Zimbra Posted April 2 Posted April 2 The VPW2 system was neat but I absolutely did not have the patience for it and gamesharked it pretty quickly.
Cliff Hanger Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Thank God they learned their lesson from that stupid "locker room leader" gauntlet. The second one is 10 instead of 30 and goes down WAY easier. (I actually had to beat the 30-man March one twice, because the first time Kevin Nash glitched after getting pinned and never left the building so it just stopped when I beat the last ofher person.) The patch fixed a whole lot of major bugs, but now if you get pinned in an elimination the camera follows you to the back and you can't get it to swap to your new controlled char? Starting over on my universes since they fixed so many problems there; only got a month or so into the sandbox one and to Wrestlepalooza with Wren, so I'm not losing too much progress (and hopefully this time Wren and Charlie don't get draffed to Smackdown a week into the game and a feud.) Looks like Evolve is pretty definitely one of the arenas in pass 2. If the gods loved me, the other would be an NXT War Games arena, so it will be the ECW TV set as represented in Hardcore Revolution for PS1
SirSmUgly Posted April 15 Posted April 15 And here's AVClub noticing that what has happened to sports games over the past two decades w/r/t the collapse of competing titles and consolidation applies to pro wrestling games: https://www.avclub.com/wwe-2k26-wrestling-games-monopoly I sure hope there's another AEW game soon and that it isn't roundly mediocre as was Fight Forever. 1
Tromatagon Posted April 17 Posted April 17 Demolition doesn't have chaps. This is me being mad that my leather daddy DLC isn't gay enough, I guess. 1
blitzkrieg Posted April 17 Posted April 17 2k26 gets it's first sale for WrestleMania. I'm still a bit on the fence since I'm not sure how invested in MyFaction I'm going get this year
Tromatagon Posted May 4 Posted May 4 (edited) #3? Come the fuck on, Kenneth. My personal list that nobody cares about because I'm not Kenny Omega- 1. Firepro Wrestling World 2. Virtual Pro Wrestling 2, but I'd probably put at least a couple other iterations of Firepro before it, like Six Man Scramble and Returns 3. I fucking hate King of Colosseum and probably legitimately enjoy more current WWE games than I do the KOC games because at least they can represent wrestling styles I enjoy (hardcore wrestling, lucha) Edited May 4 by Tromatagon
Cliff Hanger Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I am here for the comical overcorrections on limited events with Persona and Oddity cards as rewards (everything that expired before 5/1 has been revived and will run til August.) By and large, though, I still feel like this game is just not holding me like 23-25 did (and I'm okay with that.) Would still love to find a really good creator who does Texas indie people (my kingdom for a Danny Orion or Brick Savage worth putting in my Universe)
