RIPPA Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Carlos Delgado was "second" with 9 votes Dale Murphy and Don Mattingly got 6 votes. All 3 get to be on the ballot again Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Gary Sheffield and Fernando Valenzuela got fewer than 5 Quote Because they received less than five votes on this year’s ballot, Bonds, Clemens, Sheffield, and Valenzuela must be omitted from the next voting cycle, and can’t return to the Contemporary Players ballot until at least 2031. If any of these four players then don’t receive at least five votes in 2031 or on any future ballot, they are no longer eligible for inclusion on any Contemporary Players ballot.

I mean, one's an outfielder and the other is an infielder, but Bonds was a far better defender than Kent. 1

He is not hof worthy though.
Cobra Commander Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 does Jeff Kent have the funniest cover story for an injury of any HOFer or is there an inductee who can outdo "I hurt myself washing my truck and not riding a motorcycle" 1

Gorman Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Kent becomes the first Survivor contestant to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Contentious C Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I'm a little bit glad to see Utley where he is. I'm not sure he's a HOFer, but his injury history is 100% why I feel that way. When he was on, he was fucking great. 1

RIPPA Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Thank God this year is over If anyone wants a prime A example of why I hate baseball writers - see the way many of them acted this voting cycle 2
Tabe Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Andy Pettite - who admitted using steroids and whose best year came when he was an Astro with roid user Clemens - getting more votes than ARod and Manny makes no sense.
Cobra Commander Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I mean, there's a theory that would involve making accusations towards some voters but..

odessasteps Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Andre Dawson is getting his HOF plaque changed from wearing the Expos hat to a blank hat, which was not an option when he was elected.
Dolfan in NYC Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Cooperstown is gonna be pissed when no one gets elected in 2027. 1

RIPPA Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Buster Posey is getting in first ballot Whether he should or not is a different story conversation but the moment Joe Mauer got in his first year it was a lock Posey was getting in first ballot 1
