I've been expecting Smackdown to tank the entire time. I have no faith in the WWE booking crew and less faith in Eric Bischoff.

It was actually tanking worse before he took over.  Post Wrestlemania that is

NXT vs AEW might be 1.0 plus vs around 0.8 at the start of this new "war".

In 30 days time, there will be 7 promotions with National TV shows, 1 of those promotions will have 3 shows with reportedly 3 different presentations.  That's not counting promotions available streaming.  Never has such a range of wrestling been this widely available.

War? What war? Haven't you heard all the people from both companies? There is no war.

War. Huh. What is it good for?

I think in 86, without cable, just by living where I did and having a rotor on our antenna, I could watch at least 2 wwf show, at least 2 jcp shows, awa, world class, Watts and maybe more (not sure when the Salvodi iwccw was on TV).

Salvodi IWCCW was running in the early/mid 90's, but I only ever got the same 2 episodes on rotation every week.

Man that sucks. I remember him hosting a big block of wrestling, like 6 hours worth on late night UHF on a Saturday night. I learned so much as a kid watching him host that.

It was kinda location.   With cable, I got 3 WWF shows, 4-5 JCP/WCW shows, AWA, Global, World Class, then later SMW, ECW, and USWA.

I think Watts, Florida, and pre-USWA Memphis were the only things I didn't get.

And yet some people will still force themselves to watch things they viscerally hate.

Just think, wrestling helped usher in the Golden age of TV, and it will probably be there for the last gasp of traditional TV before streaming becomes the standard. A very poetic ending to the medium with this explosion of wrestling content. I’m just afraid it won’t usher a new boom. People might look back at this, and say “Man, I went to grandmas, and turned on the TV. It’s so depressing. All it is at this point is home decorating shows, and wrestling”.

Meanwhile - the WWE has confirmed that When Worlds Collide will be the show before Rumble

Man, the whole wrestling landscape got really weird in 2019.

Even Impact isn't on it's death bed now.

Not that I'm gonna complain about FINALLY getting the Los Gringos Locos vs. Octagon and EHD Santo 2/3 Falls máscara contra cabellera match in full on the Network, but it seems odd to air that show before the Rumble.

I got the same thing with cable and there was no Watts, Florida, or pre-USWA Memphis in my area.

Perhaps not coincidentally, wrestling and porn were always at the vanguard of the next technological advance in home entertainment.

I think Heyman being around for Brock has given him a better understanding of how to maybe not get exactly what we wants but as close to it as possible while keeping Vince happy and maintaining about as little trust anyone should have for Heyman.

Eric is starting to feel like he was just a name to drum up interest because from what I’ve gleaned it’s not his scripts getting torn up every week. What exactly has he come up with so far? Genuinely asking no sarcasm/smart assery.

whichever one is buying the white lady

I would have loved to get coked up with Jake Roberts and listen to him cut promos.

Not if Jake’s buying he’s stingy. Iron Sheik got him an 8ball and he only gave Sheik a little bump and kept the rest for himself.

Also did anyone mention getting drunk with Andre? If at some point in the night he made me watch Princess Bride and during it he randomly grabbed me by the neck and started shaking me like Bob Uecker and actually killed me, I would probably die smiling.

Every cokehead is stingy when they're buying and depending on the amount, some moreso than others.

WHo else loves when the local news does a quick mention of WWE coming to town and

1) The graphic they put up has a picture of CM PUnk, Ryback, and Alberto del Rio

2) The male news mannequin says something about Hulkomania and/or "body slamming."

3) The lady news mannequin makes an "ew" face

4) the 23 year old weather dork intern is trying to hide how excited he is so he doesn't get hazed more by being forced to wear a singlet to the Halloween party

Who was the NFL announcer that worked in the Elite nicknames and All In reference last season while making his fantasy picks? His non-fan partner said he was waiting for WWE references and was promptly shutdown with "There was going to be no WWE references.".

Let's all relive and enjoy the goodness.
