AEW - SEPT 2019

The entire division has a bunch of prospects who really should be honing their craft on the indies for another 3 years before being in this position. They need all the vets like Jazz and Martinez they can get right now both for match quality and to help teach.

I am not impressed by Riho in any way and don't get exactly why not.  Different shit for different people I guess.

I was talking on Twitter how the women's division doesn't have someone that does more of a brawler/hardcore wrestling style and how bringing someone in like Ludark Shaitan in would work wonders for me being more interested in the division, but you'd also need to bring in someone to work with her or have someone willing to do death match lite spots.  Maybe her cousin but she's Lady Shani now and pretty distanced from the death match stuff.  But Ludark is also trained by Skayde and Silver King so regular matches aren't off the table.

I liked the Riho match the other night, but in a changeup for that type of show way.

Anyway, early last week, I randomly came upon a MV for the IWA-MS Queen of the Death Match 2014 with Ludark suplexing Heidi Lovelace/Ruby Riot through light tubes and shit and doing a light tubes match barefoot. Would it be that crazy to bring in someone like LuFisto at this level? Also, does Impact have first dibs on people like Lady Shani, La Hiedra, Keyra, Ayako, etc. if they came to work in the U.S? If you're going to have slightly above average women's matches, why not just have hot masked luchadoras and crazy women willing to bleed everywhere like Faby and Ayako Hamada? They can't have a milk toast women's division just because everyone else has one.

Do we know how many shows AEW will be running per week? That'll be one thing that helps the green folks like Nyla.

Very sure Khan doesn't want lot of shows yearly. Around 100 to 120 maybe.

While Faby and Ayako are great, both tend to stiff the shit out of people that they don't like, and they also don't like anybody.

1. If you have a division full of green people or at least people that are green on this level of wrestling, those are the women you want in charge as maestros in addition to maybe someone like Jazz.

2. This is just more water cooler talk for us. ?

He was responding to a question about why the company that says it's committed to diversity has diversity everywhere but the men's singles division. He didn't bring it up himself absent of context or anything.

The tag division has white guys, black guys, Latino guys, Asian guys, a dinosaur and whatever Evil Uno is supposed to be. The women's division has white women, Asian women, black women, Latino women, a Native American woman. Men's singles is white Americans and white Canadians, with a couple of white Englishmen, so far. But if one were to indulge in whataboutism, one could mention how many years WWF/WWE was running before their first Black World Champion was crowned* and wonder if AEW would take that long.

* Autocorrect changed crowned to drowned. Damn racist telephone. Although it might be interesting to look at all the promotions and see how many years it took each one to give a Black (or non-white at least) wrestler the top title.

Because they don't want to get thrown off TNT?

Re: LuFisto

Due to health issues she says she is retiring at the end of the year.

So maybe you could have her at the next PPV but doing anything major with her would seem to be not possible

I would never have the women do insane deathmatches or start staple gunning each other, but at some point, if we're all on the equality bandwagon there has to be some open mindedness towards some of the current limitations. UFC was on Fox (and subsequently FS1, FS2, and even doing part of their PPV this week on FX FWIW) from November 2011 to December 2018 and I never heard them get shit for women bleeding or being cut. The fight with Jessica Andrade and Claudia Gadelha where it almost Muta scaleish was technically on FXX, but if it was on Fox, we would've never heard anything about any sort of push back. It was an awesome fight where'd you would expect people to be bleeding, male or female. ESPN gave them a billion plus dollars and some of the female fights that have been showcased so far have been as brutal as ones during their Fox run. Again, I would NOT do it every week or even every PPV because then you're tempted to do it all the time. However, when it comes time to do in an important angle or match where it makes sense, then you pull the trigger. Same thing with certain stip and hardcore matches.

Judging by her schedule, she's also not doing U.S. dates. She is designing/making gear, apparently. Mercedes Martinez's gear at All Out was her design.

If they were doing a show in the Quebec area at some point or Canada in general, it would be a decent idea to get one last run out of her and bring her in to do a career vs. _____ against someone where she shoot retires afterwards in front of her hometown crowd.

Also, given what has been talked about in regards to the professionalism of the ring gear, she should have a job with AEW helping out with that afterwards. It would be a twofer.

Saying you want them to sign some women specifically so you can watch them bleed and then spinning it into an argument for equality is... something...

This is kinda like Eddie Murphy's joke on his Raw special about Cosby being mad about Eddie saying "Fuck". Hopefully, they would be talented enough to work and not just bleeding. ?

Thinking back to the Cracker Barrel Clash, and how well it turned out. Would it be better if AEW just had a Death Match(Probably come up with a more mainstream name) division, with it’s own belts. Just so Jimmy Havoc, and Joey Janela won’t end up as JTTS’s to everybody else?
