It seems like the show needs someone to keep a "show bible" or something like that in order to keep the hierarchy of supes straight. I feel like they were pretty inconsistent with portraying how powerful Annie and Deep were. One of Annie's strengths is that she can actually fight (they made it a point to say she knew martial arts in Season 1) and one of Deep's weaknesses is that he just relies on his strength and has next to no actual fighting skills. Annie was also strong and skilled enough to kick the shit out of and choke out The Shifter who disabled Kimiko. Yet Deep was wiping the floor with her until A-Train showed up. I could see if the fight was underwater where Deep is stronger but they were in The Boys' office. Also, Deep dodged one of A-Train's punches which definitely shouldn't happen. We saw A-Train react and dodge Annie's light blasts so he should've been able to tag Deep with punches at will.

I get the criticism that the season was pretty much a cock tease for next season, but that's the way it goes when everyone's trying to rush these things back onto the screen as fast as they can. Viewership was up over the past season and that only leads to more searches for "when will season 5 of The Boys be released?" I enjoyed the season for the most part. So many things happened and yet people were griping because they didn't get closer to topping off Homelander.

It has been announced that for the final season, both Jared Padalecki and Misha Barton will be joining the cast of The Boys. Not to mention that Jensen Ackles and Jim Beaver are already in the cast.

So anyone who really loved Supernatural but hasn't watched The Boys yet, they've got some catching up to do.

Gen V is pretty great.  5 eps in.  This Hamish Linklater guy is quite the revelation.  Maybe I should go finish Midnight Mass.

Gen V rules. I was late to the game with it in season 1, but when I came back to it it turned out to be very excellent. S2 is just as good and is doing a good job of again being a .5 season of the Boys to fill in some gaps and blanks so the upcoming season makes more sense.

My only fear is we'll get some stupid final season of GoT bullshit where Marie killing Homelander becomes the new Arya killing the Night King.

I figured the body count would start early but didn't think A-Train would go so quickly. 

I really liked the fact that he showed growth at the end- he avoided running through a woman while trying to get away from Homelander - the fact that he carelessly did so in the past started everything in S1E1.

I'm still a bit away from caught up, but the realest moment in the whole Boys World is this opening for S2 of Gen V. Just a bunch of white dudes meeting consequences in the worst ways possible, absolutely nothing being learned from it, and a whole corporation plugging ahead for 50 years to produce the most evil scumbags imaginable. It's like we live in that timeline, only without a scintilla of the accompanying spectacle.

In the realm of the not-real, Erin Moriarty should have laid off the plastic surgery a good 5 years ago. What the fuck.

I don't want to be one of THOSE PEOPLE, but there is a whole rabbit hole of how it's making Starlight feel less sympathetic. I never know what emotion is being portrayed.

I(and I assume many others) was not aware of that, so thanks for mentioning that.  I never followed up on any of it after the initial shock of her new appearance, so that's on me.

A lot of the shit that's said about Erin Moriarty comes from the more MAGA/red pilled corner of the internet and a lot of it is gross. She looks fine to me.

I may have the dissenting opinion, but I this season rules so far and I'm bummed that this is the last season. With only, uh, 4? episodes left (I think), I hope they kick things into high gear. If I had one complaint then it's that I'm not totally thrilled about a search for a Macguffin, but everything else is entertaining enough that I don't care that much.

BTW, I knew this season was written and filmed awhile ago and there was a lot of concern about it running head first into current events. I didn't realize that shoot probably wrapped in 2024! This is like Veep levels of predicting the future.

It feels very similar to the previous season of Daredevil, and S2 of Andor. I guess fascism never changes.  I think the writers said they wrote something for this season that they thought was completely outrageous, and it's already happened in real life.

It’s actually unsettling at times. There have been a few times where watching the Boys this season that has given me that anxious feel in your stomach.

Well, you have to bear in mind that after the first Trump term ended, there was a lot of "Thank the Gods that's over with, we must document this in fiction so the people know to halp make sure it never happens again.

But because Politics moves faster than Hollywood, it is already happening.

I like the idea of this episode being half one-shot backstories and also continuing the main plot.

Just remember, Seth Rogen doesn't actually like weed, he just pretends to so he can sell ashtrays to dumbasses.
