Crooked real estate tycoon who wants to restore Neptune to its former glory? Subtle, Veronica Mars. Very subtle.

But man did Patton Oswaltt fuckin killed it this season. There lots of little "oh hey, that guy popped up" moments. If this is the last season it sure went out with DDP sized bang!

Well its been 5 years since the movie probably in the interim between the movie and books. Good to see the Police Chief is just as mucg a dickweed as the Sheriffs were. Kind of a shame as I .like Dawn Wells

I had no idea there were novels.

Two. I've been very surprised how many references there have been to them in this through episode 6

I’ve never read the novels and am getting on fine without them.

Then again, I only remember the broadest of broad strokes of the show and movie.

There's nothing that I think would impact understanding, but they definitely are in Canon

That is good to know. I'm up to episode five and so far I seem to be good despite having not seen anything since the movie.

The Movies series wrapped up on CNN tonight with a two-hour 2000s and it was a nice overview of the last 20 years. The '90s one and the rest of the one-hour eps felt clipped in comparison. It reminded me that 1. There are movies like Birdman and The Revenant I've seen that I completely forgot about and 2. There are A LOT of BIG, BIG movies from the last 20 that I haven't even seen. Kinda feel ashamed, really. The series is restarting next Sunday with the '70s so if you're not busy, it's worth a watch.

City On A Hill is about halfway through its run and shit is starting to hit the fan. Again, if you liked The Town it works as a nice prequel. As far as The Loudest Voice goes, I can't stand to follow that evil shit.

The Snowpiercer TV series

As seen by the screencap - starring Jennifer Connelly

I didn't even recognize Daveed Diggs with the scuffy beard and badass dreads.

Yeah, I'm in for all of that shit.

Catherine the Great

Starring Helen Mirren and who gives a fuck who else

Based on the trailer - I legit could have put this in the horror tread. (Its a HBO "limited" series)

I had to look up 40% of all the Veronica Mars references as they were happening. Still enjoyed the hell out of the season.

Also, that's not...

Sean Astin in the docudrama footage as Penn in the end, right?

I have taken many World History classes and I do not recall the Czarina of Russia being a fucking vampire.

I'm afraid you've got it half-wrong in a couple ways, my friend.

1) The series originally aired as two hour eps. The one hour eps are clipped replays.

2) It's not done. They started with the 80s. Now they're going back to the 70s, 60s, and "Golden Age."

I support this.  The gimmick has run its course.

Shonda's supposed to be taking her talents to Netflix, so we'll see what ABC does with Thursdays.

Well Grey's is never ever going away it seems so they could just put Station 19 after it and then push A Million Little Things back a hour

Well damn. I wondered why I thought I saw the '70s or the '80s, then the series seemed to disappear/I forgot about it. Doing that is... a little weird.

Thanx for the info though, I look forward to them all.

EDIT: Ah, this is why

Quote

Due to the costs incurred with licensing the required film footage, episodes on cinema were not included in past Hanks/Goetzman miniseries projects such as The Sixties.[1] In an interview with Deadline Hollywood, Goetzman remarked that "it cost a fortune, and some is fair use, depending on how you guys talk about it, and some isn't, but within it, it's an insane undertaking because the licensing is a very tricky business in this type of thing, and you know, you set out thinking, hey, this is going to be great, right? And then you realize you have approvals, you know, beyond belief with estates in a lot of the situations, too."[2]

So at first they didn't even think they could do it then dominoes started to fall. And I'm sure some of them have been like pulling teeth no matter what.

I had to double check which noblewoman allegedly bathed in blood (elizabeth bathory of hungary).

Well, you can't accuse the Veronica Mars revival as being just mindless fan service.
