Sadly, GTA5 has had them for years now, so that wouldn't be much of a surprise.  The flying motorcycles are worse.

I always check how many people are in the session and how many have MK2s before I do car warehouse stuff.  So one day it was like only five people in session so I started grinding sourcing and selling.  After a few trips, a guy in a Oppressor flies up behind me and I'm thinking, "well fuck, that's it for today."  Guy proceeds to do nothing, just follows behind me while I source one car, then later catches up while I sell another and watches me do that.  So I was both pleasantly surprised AND weirded out.

I just did the mission where you need to get the RV from Sandy Shores (Meth'd Up) and my team spawned, to start the mission, way out in the ocean behind Michael's psychiatrist's office.  WTF

Game's only been out 8 1/2 years.  Give em time.  They'll get it right. (Yeah, I'm not afraid to run that joke into the ground).

Did my first freemode runs in at least six months over the last two days.  And the first runs on the new Online version.  Noticed the dots seem to be a lot higher level than I remembered.  Level 800+ folks seem to be in every room now.

Found out the hard way that they've somehow put something in the game that may actually be worse than the Nimbus MKII.  Some new cars actually allow you to go off radar permanently, as long as you're near the car (apparently 500 meters, whatever that works out to in GTA land), and provided you don't kill another player.  It also allows your entire CEO org/motorcycle club to be off radar along with you.  And your org/club doesn't have that second qualifier.  They have to be near the car, but they can kill as many dots as they want.  Ran into several people abusing that last night.  Thought it was a bug exploit.  Come to find out, it's actually a feature.  WTAF?

There's been a massive RP glitch for a few months now, which is unpatchable, unless they remove the mission.

It's one of Franklin's free roam payphone hits, "The Popstar". You can rank up by the hundreds in the time frame. It's likely a majority of people did that, as I've encountered some ridiculous ranks and they're complete shit at the game.

I'm surprised some of those folks made it through, as R* was seemingly vigilant in verifying legit accounts during the transfer process. Or so they said.

These guys are my heroes:

They also managed to get it up Mt. Chiliad.  Doing pointless stuff like this has always been the best part of GTA.  Reminds me of the time a bunch of us spent 30 minutes and a billion GTA dollars worth of explosives blasting my wrecked Mesa out of a river so we could take a picture with it

This extension of GTA Online's shelf life is totally delaying my dream of the return of Yusuf Ali to GTA6 and creating a gambling empire to launder my drug smuggling earnings in Vice City.  I am old.  Hurry up and make this fucking game before I die.

I just want him to use inappropriate language again and gift overpowered weapons to me when I complete his missions.

Yusuf and his father are the best characters in the game that are not named Trevor Phillips.   Yusuf's father knows his son is a fuck up and won't survive in whatever ultra-conservative GTA Middle-Eastern country they are from, so he sends Yusuf to the states where his hedonism isn't so much of a detriment.  The thing is that he still wants to teach Yusuf responsibility and the value of work, so he puts him in charge of the construction business.

Yusuf, to his credit, is self-conscious and knows he's a fuck-up, but he still wants his father to be proud of him.  So despite being totally inept, he struggles with the construction business as best he can in the hope that he can prove to his father that he is worthy of respect.  It is as close to a functional relationship as you will get in this fucking franchise.

Well, the GTA Summer update might be the best piece of hype they’ve done, and they did it by just actually addressing the games flaws.

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/9k74k52737912k/grand-theft-auto-and-red-dead-online-community-update

As we look at what’s in store for the Rockstar Games community in the weeks and months ahead, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their unmatched enthusiasm and commitment to all our titles. It’s your support that drives us to keep pushing forward with everything we do, and we are excited to share with you the first details around upcoming updates and more.

With more players than ever taking to the streets of Los Santos thanks to the recent launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — we’ll be working to improve the overall GTA Online experience with new gameplay updates, adding top community-requested experience improvements and upgrades to make it easier for players to enjoy everything GTA Online has to offer.

In just a few short weeks, a new update is coming to GTA Online on all platforms that will expand upon the Criminal Careers of Executive, Biker, Gunrunner, and Nightclub Owner — alongside a set of Contact Missions that presents the opportunity to be sworn in as a special IAA field operative to investigate a budding criminal conspiracy.

This update will also feature some changes that have been long-requested by the community — such as reducing the effectiveness of homing missiles and countermeasures on the Oppressor Mk II, offering a more convenient way to access snacks and armor, and the ability to launch Sell Missions in Invite Only sessions. These are just a few of the experience improvements that will be coming this summer, to GTA Online as we continue to incorporate more player feedback and other learnings moving forward.

We'll also be increasing some of the GTA$ payouts throughout the game to reward players for their time — regardless of what they choose to play. With such a wide range of things to do in GTA Online we believe that increasing these payouts will allow people greater freedom to do what they like and get what they want faster.

Bodyguards, Associates, and MC Members will see payouts increased to encourage and reward cooperative play — along with increased GTA$ payouts across a variety of activities, including greater payouts across Races, Adversary Modes, and select Heist Finales.

Plus, our continued commitment to specially curated seasonal events, additional bonuses and gifts, community challenges, and other surprises for players will ensure that Los Santos remains as dynamic and unpredictable as ever.”

Tons of great news overall, just to see how it’s implemented.

Nerfing Oppressors and also making it possible to sell in private lobbies are both GREAT changes.  As it stands, I only sell cars from my garage when there are fewer people in the lobby and/or no Oppressors.  It's shitty to have an online game where one of the core mechanics (running your business) requires you to "take the temperature" of the lobby you're in first, lest some awful tween loaded up on Shark cards is living like K/D ratio is something you can put on a resume.

I may actually drive a vehicle other than the Nightshark (I added the sad trombone car horn to troll the MK2 griefers when they can't blow me up).

Honestly, putting Business selling missions into Private Lobbies and upping the payouts to make playing the game without loading up on Shark Cards doable would do a lot to bring me back to playing.  That, and maybe putting more functionality into running everything from the Arcade, Nightclub, or some other central warehouse would be nice, but I know that's unrealistic, as it would cut down on time spent in game if you didn't have to travel all around to your properties,  But some of us that have been playing for a while and have every business and property type (except the Mega-yacht), it's tedious to run around to all your properties, especially if they're spread out all over the map and not all in downtown.

The only downside is if sell a car in an empty public session, a few waves of super hard NPC aimbots come after you, and they'll probably do the same for private.

My best ever public session was the time I ended up with like one other person in the lobby.  Never saw the guy and just sold cars like mad.

I wish there was a way to sell back stuff you don't want.  I have an apartment I never use (I sleep at the agency) and I regret buying the Kosatka.  The initial Cayo Perico mission was blah and then I tried one setup mission and my character got literally stuck between a box and a wall, running in place.  People say you should just grind Cayo solo for millions but I don't think that's for me.

Honestly I'd be ok with keeping stuff in public lobbies if they ditched the "after 90 seconds the entire fucking map knows where you are and it's pointed out you're a high value target" mechanic and made appearing on everyone's GPS optional.    Ok, keep telling everyone that someone's running a high value sell mission, but not point it out on the map that "they're right there whenever you feel like casually flying over and hitting them before they even know you're there" this it currently is.

And i agree on selling stuff, or at least making it so you can "upgrade" to a higher priced property of the type in a different location, mabye charge for moving the storage instead of making you sell everything in your storage off then moving, but somehow also not allowing you to move because "you still have things in storage" even when you don't.  I'd love to spend some of my millions moving stuff closer together instead of everything being spaced in the literal four corners of the map.

The shitty part is that, at least for vehicles, the reward for messing up someone trying to sell is negligible.  If you steal their car and take it to the cops, it’s $5000, which is nothing.  You can steal it and keep it to sell on your own, I guess.  But you can also source your own with less effort. And  I’ve only ever had a vehicle I was trying to sell get stolen once.  Usually they just blow it up and I don’t know if there’s much of a reward for that at all.  Maybe a little cash and xp.  The only reason to do it is griefing and it suuuuuucks.  Legit the only reason to stop someone from selling is…you’re a dick.

The invite-only sell missions is neato -- I love doing the car missions but hate to be chased by other players.

Are these improvements gonna be current-generation only?

I miss the days of spamming Rooftop Rumble. Somebody will have to tell me what the payout for it increases to.

As near as I can tell, these updates will happen on the One too, though Nate and I are on the new gen release that came out in March, and the One isn't cross compatible with that version.

The game has been weird the last year or so.  I haven't shot a dot in months.  And making money is actually viable.  You'd have been a GTA billionaire from the current setup with the amount of missions you did.  Don't think the older stuff's payouts have changed, but there's a bunch of new stuff with big payouts for short missions, and a heist that's easily soloable.

Oh yeah, you can easily knock out $100k in an hour or less.  The weekly thread on reddit, among other things, lays out what mission strands are 2x and 3x, which is cool.  I'm a really casual player and rarely get more than an hour in per day (if that!).  I typically fly from my agency to the daily shipwreck (free 20k), hit the casino for spin of the lucky wheel, then do a few missions or, if the lobby isn't filled with griefers, maybe sell a car.

The "easily soloable" heist is Cayo Perico, but I've not been able to get into it yet.  I mentioned this earlier, but I started to do a setup for it, got killed a bunch of times, THEN reached the objective (find a radar jammer in a sub), only the get stuck between the jammer and the wall, which made me rage quit.  I'm not sure if soloing a whole heist is my thing.  I think the people who say "easily soloable" are the ones who play for hours a day.

Contract stuff is quick too.  And payphones hits are paying a bunch right now.  The car miniheists are good money, and don't take too long.  Plus you can always deliver the cars for that business pretty quickly.  Don't like the delivery location?  Blow it up and get another location at no cost.

Grabbing the blue dot cars is good money.  Spin the wheel at the casino for a new T-shirt.  The nightclub rewards got bumped up really high recently.  And you can always sell Ballers to the pay and spray.

I have a very personal definition of easy, which is basically that if my sorry ass can do it it's easy.

I'm also boring, so I stick to the same plan every time.

Don't bother getting anything besides the minimum stuff.  It won't help anyway.  The explosives are useless.

Use fast travel in the sub to cut down travel times.  Also, fly everywhere.  I always end up using the Sparrow or Buzzard, since I never learned to fly the Oppressor I/II.

Use the sub to get there.  The mission you rage quit on is either really easy or annoyingly hard, depending on whether you can take out that chopper before getting killed.  If you don't get it the first time, prepare to get spawn killed while you sit on a jetski.  The key seems to be to just go slow on your way there, and shoot as many missiles as you can once you get radar lock on the chopper.  Once he's gone, the rest is easy on the surface.  Inside the sub is standard GTA combat. The guards will be the same place every time, so you get a feel for it pretty quickly.

If you have to get the safe numbers, it's just more standard GTA combat till you find the right guy.

If you have to get the plasma cutter, it's standard GTA combat.  It can be more annoying than the safe codes, but still not too bad.

The fingerprint clone mission isn't bad.  Just shoot five guys in a room and do a hack.

The cutting torch isn't bad either.  Take out the guards with missiles on your way in.  Run around like a chicken with your head cut off trying to locate it, then run away when you do.

The weapons are a little more complicated.  If you get the Merryweather HQ version, rage quite and try a new session.  Repeat till you get somewhere else.  Then land on the roof and go in from there.  Standard GTA combat, another hack and you're done.

The actual heist itself is tricky, but not too bad.  I ignore the guards and run right at the hack room.  Take out the three guards when you get there, do the fingerprint hack (which has an insanely easy trick to it), grab whatever's there, and take out either one or two guards on the way out.

I've seen people the whole thing can be done in 45 minutes.  Takes me maybe 2-3 times as long, but I get there.  And get anywhere from 1.2 to 1.7 million for it.  Took a long time to get that from Rooftop back in our day.
