RIPPA
Since I spaced posting the spoilers from the last tapings I am going to do something a little different for these shows. I am pretending I don't know what happened since this is SPOILER FREE~! (until obviously after the show) Advertised for tonight - Johnny Gargano kicks off the show (in what is being called a "victory lap") - Bianca Belair & The Sky Pirates vs. 3HW - Jaxson Ryker will wrestle - William Regal has invited Drew Gulak to appear on the show
MADCAP
I know Gulak said that Bugenhagen guy looked like Ben Stiller in Dodgeball, but I think he looks more like Peter Dante I n Mr. Deeds.
nofuture
It's been a while since NXT has had a cult hero a la Adam Rose and No Way Jose:
Nice Guy Eddie
Bugenhagen is awesome. We didn't get to see much wrestling out of him, but he's got the entertainer part down. I couldn't help but get a Joey Ryan vibe from the porn 'stache mixed with early ROH tag team, The Ring Crew Express (Dunn & Marcos). Hopefully, he'll come out with a guitar at least once to incorporate the guitar flip aka the bitch toss. I marked hard in my own living room for the Angus Young strut. He's going to be so over when he moves onto the nxt tours outside of Florida.
MADCAP
Never mind that shit...that Gulak vs. Riddle match was fucking awesome.

I'm usually wrestling first and everything else is secondary, but Bugenhagen was just what I needed. See DVDVR, I'm not doom and gloom all the time.
Ramo2653
Since there's two months and two more tapings until the next Takeover, I'm interesting in seeing what they do with Bianca and Io in regards to who gets Shayna. Also hats off to Io really over selling the win which made Bianca's salty look even better.
Eivion
Bugenhagen has a great entrance theme and a character that compliments it well in and out of the ring. He is goign to do well in NXT. Loved how all of that with Gulak was just a set up for a ridiculously great Riddle/Gulak match. That was so damn good, easily the most I have enjoyed Riddle in NXT. Sky Pirates/Bianca vs. 3/4 Horsewomen was solid. Dug them sowing the seeds for Bianca/Io over who faces Shayna next.
MonteCarl
Sending Gulak to NXT was fabulous. Was this a full time switch, or just a one off? He would be so much better off in NXT where his ground/grappling style would be much better showcased and appreciated rather than in front of dead crowds on 205. That match was great.
Peck
Gulak was the absolute perfect choice to star opposite Bugenhagen's debut. No one else could have pulled off the deadpan stare of disgust like Drew. He made what would have already been a great segment 20x better. Then the battle with Riddle was the icing on the cake. I bet he had a blast down there. Io is batting about .150 with these moonsaults. She absolutely obliterated Shayna's legs with that one.
Phil4126
I really hope this is a fulltime switch for Gulak, because everything he did was awesome. His reactions to Bugenhagen, calling him Ben Stiller, literally everything that involved Matt Riddle. Feels like he fits in perfectly with this show and this crowd and I want more. Sky Pirates are sooooo good and I love Bianca's salty looks at the both of them after the match. Can't completely take the heel out of Bianca. Shayna continues to impress as always but ye gods do Duke and Shafir not need to be wrestling on tv yet.
hammerva
It seems like Bugenhagen is going to be NXT version of Dalton Castle if Castle was more into music then having catalina wine mixers on the boat. I believe he has the same amateur wrestling background as Castle just in different places. And no he doesn't need an actual guitar. Doing air guitar makes the over the topness of his character. I mean if he had to have something physical with him it should be one of those Guitar Hero game versions. Although does any still play Guitar Hero anymore. Besides I don't remember hearing people saying that Tanahashi needed an actual guitar.
EVA
Yikes, you know you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for gimmicks when you're like, "What if Tanahashi's goofy post-match air guitar but that's the whole character?"
MoeCristyV.1.6
Io Shirai badly needs the Alex Wright Dance to fit her music.

Just once for the bitch toss because it is kind of hard to pantomime it.
RIPPA
Gulak's appearance was no different than like when Tyler Breeze wrestled Ricochet It is just them using a name to help build up a talent Most likely there will be an Io/Shayna title match at the next tapings to set up whatever they are doing for the Mania Takeover
NikoBaltimore
I liked Bugenhagen fine enough but right now he's somebody that's only good in small doses. By the time he started doing the scream mid-match I was liking it less and I can only imagine how it was at tapings when he went out after the show. But Gulak was great in showing disgust and holy shit was that a tremendous match against Riddle. I'm kind of bummed that this was a one-time deal for him but I'm hoping the shakeup they do later on opens up the possibility of him coming down to NXT on a regular basis.
Craig H
The Bugenhagen stuff made me laugh at first, but then it started getting on my nerves. The heat coming off Bianca for that final segment was intense. She legit looked pissed in a way where someone is mad, but they're just pushing the feeling down. And then the last bit with Kairi swinging around Bianca's hair with Bianca then snatching it back felt super uncomfortable.
Guest Edwin
Told you guys the Buge stuff gets old fast. He first did it over the weekend before the tapings for his entrance and everyone giggled and laughed. Then he came out and did an encore for about 10 minutes and it got boring fast. At the tapings they did the same thing. The videos of the encore's being posted are heavily edited to 2-3 minutes. That entire routine went on for about 10 minutes. No exaggeration. It's cute when it's done once for the entrance and done. Once he begins doing endless encore's, it gets stale and loses it's charm. A lot of the Full Sail fans eat that stuff up which is cool and all, but a lot of these folks are the same ones who try to always hijack shows with their endless unfunny chants.OUCH! THAT HURT! *See's matwork* OH! THAT'S VIOLENT! hahahahahaha hear me?!?! HEAR ME? FUNNY, RIGHT?
Burgundy LaRue
The story they told with Bianca and the Sky Pirates was great. Bianca is a willing partner, even teaming up with Kairi for that incredible Military Press Elbow Drop. But it quickly becomes Kairi and Io tagging while Bianca is left hanging. She wants a victory over Shayna in some way, so she does a blind tag and has the win in hand before Jessamyn and Marina break it up. Io returns the blind tag and seals the deal. Not only does Bianca have to watch the Sky Pirates celebrate like they won the lottery, Kairi adds insult to injury by twirling Bianca's braid. Which is a MAJOR no-no. Very well done and can go in several directions over the next few tapings. Yet once again, the Full Sail crowd shows its tail by chanting 'you can't wrestle' to wrestlers in training. Robert S
Why are they trying to sell a Best of TakeOver 2018 DVD / Blu-Ray set on a WWE Network show? That was a very weirdly placed commercial.
Hagan
One of the better NXT episodes in a really long time. A top to bottom fun show. What was also refreshing is that it felt like it was less busy than usual. Usually there's so many segments that the show feels over-stuffed.
quackhell
Just had to add to the Gulak love. He was aces all night. I am not a huge Riddle fan, but damn that match was fantastic. Loved the Catchpoint handshake afterwards as well. Also Shafir and Duke are still very much works in progress but they are approaching Shawn Stasiak levels of stumble bumbling around and looking like clumsly goofs.
Ace
I was surprised the Catch Point handshake actually made it on air. The awkwardness after the main event was delightful.
Phil4126
Honestly I don't think it's fair at this stage of the game for Shafir and Duke to be wrestling on TV. Have they even been wrestling for a full year yet? Let them get their sea legs under them on house shows, keep them as Shayna's goons on TV. And for God's sake if they must wrestle on TV, keep it short and painless. Not everyone needs to wrestle long matches
