Travis Sheldon Posted October 17 Posted October 17 When I was growing up in the 70s KISS were like superheroes to me. I was really only aware of them through TV and the comics, they first appeared in Howard the Duck, so I wasn't spinning their records as a pre-teen. Jimmy Page was the guitarist that made me pick up a guitar, but Ace was the Spaceman that could shoot laser from his guitar, so they were basically equal. Have listened to a lot of Ace's interviews through the years and he, like the other original KISS members, was a very eccentric character, but he was always entertaining and endearing to me. Maybe it was his New York accent which reminded me of some of my best friends. R.I.P. Spaceman and thanks for the great riffs and memories. 1

AxB Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Dave Ball - the member of Soft Cell who wasn't Marc Almond, and also one half of 90s techno act The Grid - passes away at 66. https://www.classicpopmag.com/news/dave-ball-electronic-music-pioneer-has-died-aged-66/ RIP
Curt McGirt Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Just because I'm curious, what were Ace's drug problems? Coke? I mean I'm sure he was a drunk, that had to be the case. I've seen that interview. Anyway he was great, and influenced so many of my friends, including one of my best friends who is just undergoing cancer surgery and was devastated. The turnout for Facebook posts was Ozzy-esque. RIP, Spaceman.
zendragon Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Supposedly he couldn't remember entire decades of his life, I would imagine a load of booze and coke (after all it was the 70's) 1

Curt McGirt Posted December 1 Posted December 1 RIP Red from Scarecrow. Car wreck. I'm old friends with Usman the drummer and I know he's destroyed right now, so I gave him my love on Insta and haven't been able to force myself to get on it again to say if he replied. Maybe sometime this week. 1
