RIPPA Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Eventually I will post a full quick and dirty of all the results but I have almost additional movies that received votes so that is going to take awhile. What I will do - is post random stuff as I go through the list over and over if anyone cares 2
J.T. Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 The title of this topic is full of so much win and clickbait. Facts and figures and WHAT~??
RIPPA Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 Here is a very simple thing for me to throw out (and probably the only one I will have today) THE MOVIES THAT GOT SCREWED LIST (aka the movies that had 95 points and the cutoff was 96) RECEIVED ONLY 1 VOTE (Meaning one person had it #6) Play Time Red White & Blue The Assassination of Jesse James… RECEIVED ONLY 1 VOTE AND A HONORABLE MENTION The Quiet Man This one is Matt's fault as if he had put it on his ballot instead of the HM it most likely makes it RECEIVED TWO AND THREE VOTES RESPECTIVELY Stalag 17 The 400 Blows 1
RIPPA Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 Also - the movie I was talking about when I joked y'all were voting for porn now Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41 2
jaedmc Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 That's crazy because I joked that I would have voted for Female Prisoner #701: Scorpion if I had seen it before I submitted my list. I watched it like the day of the deadline.
RIPPA Posted March 23, 2017 Author Posted March 23, 2017 HIGHEST RANKED MOVIE THAT DIDN'T MAKE OUT COUNTDOWN (via a few different sources) GONE BABY GONE: #21 DVDVR 2000s Poll GOAT - 2 Votes, 47 Points TWELVE MONKEYS: #19 DVDVR 1990s Poll V2 GOAT - 3 Votes + 1 HM, 75 Points ED WOOD: #14 DVDVR 1990s Poll V1 GOAT - 1 Vote, 7 Points BRAZIL: #15 DVDVR 1980s Poll GOAT - 2 Votes, 92 Points DIRTY HARRY: DVDVR 1970s Poll GOAT - 2 Votes, 51 Points THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS: DVDVR 1960s Poll GOAT - 2 Votes, 56 Points THE 400 BLOWS: DVDVR 1950s Poll GOAT - 3 Votes, 96 Points ON THE WATERFRONT: 19th AFI 10th ANNIVERSARY GOAT - 1 Vote + 2 HM, 37 Points SOME LIKE IT HOT: #14 AFI Original List GOAT - 2 Votes, 81 Points (Technically On the Waterfront was on both as it was #6 on original list but I want different movies) LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL: #26 IMDB TOP RANKED LIST GOAT - 0 Votes INSIDE OUT: #8 ROTTEN TOMATOES HIGHEST RATED MOVIES GOAT - 1 Vote + 1 HM, 58 Points (Technically Get Out but that wasn't eligible for this poll)
Death From Above Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Dirty Harry is an odd one in that I don't think there's any disputing that it has THE iconic scene of Eastwood's career yet I am pretty comfortable saying I think several of his westerns are much better overall movies. I was one of the 400 Blows voters. Truffaut was an important stepping stone in my own film discovery process as a curious young man.

RIPPA Posted March 23, 2017 Author Posted March 23, 2017 400 Blows was definitely hurt by the normal voting population leaving - specifically Hollinger, Yo-Yo and Ohtani's Jacket - as all three of them had it in the Top 20 of the 50s poll It was also hurt by Jae voting for it on the 50s poll but not the GOAT poll
Chaos Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 You could say that a lot of Truffaut potentially got short-changed. In my case it's just because he's a big blindspot for me.

They are exploitation at its finest... if there is such a thing as "fine" exploitation... Meiko Kaji also turns in a performance for the ages in both of the Lady Snowblood movies.
Death From Above Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 Lady Snowblood is fucking great. The good Kill Bill movie is basically a shot for shot remake for large portions.
RIPPA Posted March 24, 2017 Author Posted March 24, 2017 6 Movies Received 2 Honorable Mentions But No Actual Votes Best in Show Better Off Dead Bringing Out the Dead George Washington The Wolf of Wall Street When We Were Kings Lowest Placing Movie With 4 or More Actual Votes Blues Brothers - 4 votes, 50 Points Movie That Appeared On the Most Ballots That Didn't Make The List Office Space - 3 votes + 2 HM, 77 Points 2
Death From Above Posted March 24, 2017 Posted March 24, 2017 I grew up around dog shows as a kid and Best In Show is marvelous. I've *met* all these characters, it's so bang on it hurts.
