And the company developing the game was founded by like half of the old Bioware writing team including Drew Karpyshyn.

And it's being produced by Wizards of the Coast.

I'm not seeing many downsides other than the 2027 release time. I'm not getting any younger.

The only thing I heard someone say is “early 27” means maybe competing with Fable.

So, I got a bug up my ass and reinstalled the LE on PC since I had it, and decided to run it with mods.  Nothing game breaking, just some visual stuff and QoL fixes.  Still took me 22 hours to get through ME1 *with* a mod that tracks missions in the Galaxy Map (and yeah, doing a Paragon Vanguard run).  But man, running the ME'LLOS and Colors mods makes ME1 fucking beautiful (not that the LE version wasn't, they just screwed with the shaders and lighting a bit). 

ME2 is still great.
