That was eight very enjoyable minutes. There are people that say Gary Albright was not a good wrestler, you can say that sometimes, but I am not among those people. Here he basically smothers one of the Four Pillars and that's something else. Around 5:00 or so he puts Taue in this sugar hold I can't describe that had to suck so bad, that it's no wonder at the end he actually gets height on the fat load with his chokeslam, and then kicks him as hard as he possibly can in the face.

NOAH The First Navigation 2005

GHC Openweight Hardcore Championship

Naomichi Marufuji (c) vs Haruka Eigen

Some Eigen singles match kino.

Cagematch erroneously merges the GHC Openweight Hardcore Championship with the current day GHC Hardcore Championship,  they are two different Championships with their own title history and records, they do share the same belt.

Ole giving Sally Field vibes "You like me! You really like me!" and Heenan giving used car salesman vibes in that plaid sport coat. Not only will he lead his man to victory, he'll also sell you a '73 Catalina with four bald tires and "low miles" during intermission.

Jun Akiyama vs Mohammed Yone

I seen this bout before years ago. Ambush by Yone at the start. It's fast and stiff sprint with some blood.

I never hated Mohammed Yone like others did. He is serviceable.

AJPW World Tag Team Championship

Akira Taue and Toshiaki Kawada (c) vs Gary Albright and Steve Williams

Only around 11 plus minutes. I usually post and find what I can that's not clipped.

Kazunari Murakami/Naoya Ogawa vs. Shinya Hashimoto/Takashi Iizuka

Audio is off-center, but whatever. This is a whole pile of heat and the kicking and the punching and the hurting and hey hey nice lady. NJPW vs. UFO, Hash is even wearing gloves so that's all the people need to know.

(In addition though, what's sad is Iizuka had such a career in front of him until he got injured. He might've been up there with the New Three Musketeers until he ended up having to play a psycho to stay working.)

I saw 30 seconds of a Billy Black/Kurisu match that was just them dangerously hucking chairs across the arena at each other and then Black hitting the shittiest tumbleweed I've ever seen and I'm furious that I'll never see the whole thing unless it's in the kingdom of heaven.

in which the WWF does a doctored photo storyline 30 years before AI photos:

Well, now I believe that the photos WEREN'T doctored in kayfabe because just four years later she joins Flair and pays for his limos and banquets with the alimony she was getting from Savage.

I guess the one thing more incendiary than running an "AI photos" storyline in 2026 would involve the other person in the storyline deciding that they looked happier in the faked photos, leading to a heel turn.... Vince Russo would totally run some version of "that woman stabbed her man in the back to join a deepfaker" if you could believe that anybody in JCW has enough RAM to run an AI program

I distinctly remember the WWF magazine article about this angle and all the parts of the photo they pointed out that were supposed to look doctored just...weren't.

WWE Vault posted Hogan/Warrior from WM VI entirely from the hard cam:

One thing I like to do when I watch old shows is find someone in the crowd facing the hard cam that's super into it and watch their reaction.  There's a teenager in a Hogan shirt that's just hanging on every move and is really over the top with his reactions.  Over exaggerated relief when Hogan kicks out of a near fall, shaking wildly in excitement when Hogan hulks up, etc.  However, due to the fact that they switch to a side view of the finish, I've never gotten to see his reaction to Hogan losing until today, and it was worth the wait.  Both hands on his head, mouth agape in shock and disappointment as his slowly sinks into his seat.  Just perfection.
