Death From Above Posted July 28, 2020 Share Posted July 28, 2020 Yeah this match comes in a very specific period that is gonna look a little weird, right after Misawa had voluntarily unmasked himself and issued his first challenge to Jumbo Tsuruta, and this was the last time Kobashi and Misawa defended the secondary All-Asia tag titles before Misawa started his main event push. They ended up vacating the titles instead of putting anyone over. I'm not sure exactly why Smith was the partner here and not Kid. Dynamite Kid was I am pretty sure still around All Japan at this point, the three of them were teaming in All Japan after over in the late days of Stampede Wrestling just a little bit earlier Davey Boy and Dynamite were actually having a feud where Bulldog/A very young Chris Benoit against Dynamite/Smith. Bulldog went to the WWF near the end of this year and I think that was the end of him in Japan. Dynamite, well we know what happened with him, kind of a sad guy.
